Vec: I'm not sure this counts as news since the game was released in 5/04, but this is VERY impressive for a fan-made flash Sonic game.
While Sonic Team is being re-absorbed into Sega along with all the other development groups, and the site says Sonic Team 2000-2004, Gamespot says the name Sonic Team will still be used. There's also a contest for pins on Sonic Team's site, but I checked and it's limited to residents of Japan.

I got up this morning to recieve an email from Anchor Bay webmaster. Not sure how he got my site address since I never posted on the forum yet. but anyways. he told me and I quote.
"We do not have the UK DVD rights to SatAM. Can you please stop the continual bombardment of our forums and PMs with these requests? It is extremely annoying."
He also said if I know who handles the SatAM right to let him know. So I gave him alot of information about that and who to contact and stuff so please don't go emailing him about who has the rights and stuff. We don't want him to get even more annoyed with more emails of the same stuff and probably half of it is wrong information. So please stop posting on the forum because the more you annoy them the less of a chance we have to get it back. But if they are interested in getting the right like he sounded we may have a chance. So please stop bothering the man.
Well... looks like FUS and TSN were heard... a bit too loud though. I didn't think we were being annoying, but... like I said we were heard. All we can do now is watch and wait and see if they will release it. The ball is in their court, let's keep our fingers crossed.
Also if a mod or whatever could edit the previous post by me and take out the links so we don't annoy them even more, please. That'd be great ^_^;
Anyway, we need to let them know there IS a fan base out there so sign up on their forums and help us out by posting in this topic that Sonicus Prime made:
When you sign up on the board, the admin has to validate you and it's kind of a pain. You can email him by clicking this link after you've signed up:
Now before ANYONE tries to complain about how they won't be released in America (because they won't as DiC doesn't have the rights nor does anyone else) I don't want to hear it. This is a big chance for FUS. Anchor Bay would probably release all the episodes on DVD, and no matter what country it is, it would truely be a huge victory. A lot of UKers didn't whine when the original DVD was only released in in the states, in fact several of them order it from Amazon. So please, if you're a SatAM fan, no matter where you live, help us out. If you don't help out because you don't care that it's only in the UK then you suck and you are not a true SatAM fan.
You can read the original story and see an example shot of the TMNT disc here.

"Sega's Explosive E3 Announcement
By Bryan Dawson -- Staff Writer
Published 2:44 PM CDT, April 29, 2004
Start the rumor mill, Sega has just announced a mystery briefing at E3 that could shock the world.
In less than two weeks time, on Wednesday, May 12, Sega will surprise the gaming world with an announcement from their booth at E3. According to an e-mail sent out to various media outlets this morning, the announcement will take place at 10:00 AM PST, and last for approximately 30 minutes. Sega is calling it an "Explosive Announcement Event".
In addition to the big announcement, the mystery briefing will also unveil the latest titles from Sega. Many people have speculated that Sega will announce Shenmue III exclusively for the Xbox, but the sheer magnitude of this event seems to point to something bigger. Stay with us as we'll have coverage of the event from the E3 show floor. "
Must be a very important thing !! Maybe some sonic stuff ? ;)

Add that to the sales of the last two months (396,180), and the total sales of the US version of Sonic Heroes are: 527,421. Not bad for our cool blue heroe. We may see him it over a million by the end of the year if this keeps up.
Drood Henge is the 2nd to last episode in 2nd Season Satam where the gang disovers the deep power stones. Cover has a few wrinkles from clip and storage - the rest of the pages are in perfect condition. Signed on various pages by Pat Allee & Ben Hurst.
As you may be aware a few weeks ago Citv started editing the Sonic X episodes it shows: (these edits started at episode 10: "Fight! Sonic's Baseball Team"). The edits mean that as much as 2 mins is missing from the episodes (on top of the edits made by 4 kids entertainment). The edits can also be very noticeable as it will suddenly jump from one scene to another. I (and I presume many of you) are concerned about this, so 2 weeks ago I sent an email to Citv asking them not to edit the episodes – and a few days ago I got a reply.
It appears that CiTV have seen the errors of their ways, and are due to repeat the first episodes of Sonic X again, but in their entirity.
Radio Times (run a search for 'Sonic X', I can't paste the code here).
As the title clearly states, Sega will be presenting six brand new, currently unknown games at this years E3. It has been confirmed from the top business eggheads at Sega that a new Sonic game will not be among them. Quite a change from last years "Sonic Year" proclamation from Sega. It is rumored that at least some of these games will be the first Sega games to come to the upcoming PSP and Nintendo DS handhelds, but this has not been confirmed. "You'll have to wait and see." said the spokesperson. So, in other words, we'll have more info from Sega when E3 starts.
Sega has confirmed, however, that they will be showing no Sammy games at E3. "There are currently no plans for Sammy Japan titles at E3," said the spokesperson. "It's mainly an SOE and SOA show. Sega Japan is distributing for Sammy, and at the moment we're only distributing for Sammy in Europe."
The lack of a 3D Sonic game is most certainly not because of poor sales on Sonic Heroes part, however. The game has managed to move 400,000 units in it's first two months on all three platforms in the United States, and the game has retained itself in the top four in the UK since it's launch on January 27th. This definetly equals a lot of incoming income on Sega's part.
We will have more info when DcD goes to E3, which starts next month.
Looks like we may not be seeing a new 3D Sonic game this year. Oh well, at least we're getting Sonic Advance 3, eh?
I think Vec seems to be mistaken. It's not Sonic who would be actually fighting with Chris and company but Sonic's grandson Speedster who would be carrying on the torch since Sonic will be too old to fight. All the other furries' grandchildren will also aid in the fight and have wacky adventures together.
I also think they are renaming it Sonic X: Next Generation.
And you both forgot to mention one of the new villains, Dr Eggkid, Eggman's smart-mouthed son whose number one goal in life is to prove himself as the "coolest kid in the universe", which is why he has such a great rivalry with Speedster and Flyboy (Tails' three tailed grandson).
"A New Love...?" With Sonic and Sally at odds, and Mina having problems with Ash, the two girls turn to each other for comfort... and become aware of something they never considered before. SCRIPT: Karl Bollers. ART: Jon Gray (pencils) and Mike Higgins (inks). "Search the Past" Rutan decides to find out just who his father is, but Lien-Da isn't saying much. What is she hiding? Also, Rotor reveals some more slightly new information. The implications could affect the balance of the very universe! Or maybe they won't... SCRIPT: Ken Penders. ART: Steven Butler (pencils) and Jim Amash (inks).April Fools ;)
Make what you want of it.
It's only my guess, but I think basically every country will get to see Sonic X dubbed in their own language.
For info go to Fox Kids little mini site [it seems to use flash, or something similar]
they have ep info for up to ep08. further episode info will more than likely be added as they are screened.
Ships 7/21. 32-page, full color comic, $2.19 US. I have other Sonic the Hedgehog (Sat-AM) Storyboards that I will be posting online soon. (The whole storyboard) Like I am doing with the No Brainer storyboard.
The Febuary numbers and in, and they're looking sweet. Yes, Sonic Heroes continues to be the driving force behind Sega's console line up, with Kunoichi (or Night Shade, as Sega of America likes to call it) not even touching the top 20. While the sales for Sonic Heroes on GC have gone down signifigantly since since January, PS2 and Xbox sales more than pick up the slack. Here is a list for sales on all three platforms for Febuary:
This adds up to: 197,148 units.
After doing some more simple math, adding the January sales of 199,032 units, the total amount of Sonic Heroes units sold in it's first two months is: 396,180 units. In other words, Sonic Heroes sold a loooot of games, as that is nearly half of what Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, one of the best selling games of all time, has sold since it launched. It should prove interesting to see how Sonic Heroes fairs on all 3 major platforms in the coming months. Who knows, it might be the first 3D Sonic game to sell over 1 million at this rate. Of course, that's just a wild hope.
This information was gathered by NPD Funworld.

March 11, 2004 - Majesco has revealed that it has entered a three year deal with 4Kids Entertainment to publish several cartoons on Majesco's upcoming GBA Video format.
The company will produce 12 different volumes of individual episodes this May, including episodes from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Sonic X. Additional terms of the deal call for the promotion of the titles on 4Kids Entertainment's FOX BOX programming block and FOX BOX Web site.
Majesco's new video compression technology presently allows viewing of approximately 45 minutes of quality color video with the capability to view 90 minutes of color video under development. The technology fits in a standard Nintendo-manufactured, Game Boy Advance cartridge and incorporates standard "DVD-style" player controls. The technology features color video across 100 percent of the screen.
The company previously announced a deal with Nintendo that brings SpongeBob Squarepants, Fairly Oddparents, and Jimmy Neutron to the cartridge format.

Sega revealed today a reshuffling of its upper management that includes a few ousted directors and a brand new chairman. Taking the role of chairman and representative director of the company as of Feburary 17 is Hideki Satomi, president of Sammy. Current chairman Hideki Sato will now hold the position of vice chairman and director. Hisao Oguchi remains the president and representative director.
Hideki Satomi founded Sammy in 1975 and became its CEO in 1980. Following Sammy's purchase of 22.4% of Sega from CSK in December of 2003, Sammy became the largest shareholder in the company, with Satomi becoming a special advisor.
In addition to Satomi's appointment, a couple of changes were made to the Sega board. Two board directors, Masahiro Aozono and Makoto Kaneshiro, both connected with the CSK side of Sega's investment partners, resigned as of February 16. Meanwhile, Sammy's Yoshiharu Suzuki became a board director.
What does this mean for Sega's fortunes in the game business? We'll have to wait and see.
We're also very proud to be the first site to bring you the long lost game: Sonic Eraser. Sonic Eraser is the 2nd ever Sonic game no one knew exsisted. It was brought to my attention by our friend Sparkster. Sega put their old Sega Modem games up on their emulator service. (Japan only) So, in the late hours, with my money, Ryoga's knowledge of Japanese, and the hacking skills of Nemesis, we managed to bust open Sega's program and extract the ROM. So we proudly present: Sonic Eraser!
The game is a puzzle game similar to Tetris, each piece that falls is made up of several symbols that you have to line up to get combos... and... well, it's hard to explain, but it can be found at Sonic Cult, along with pictures and information on the game. Also some of you may have notice that the CulT has been down recently, remodeling, well it's finished! So be sure to check it all out.

Sonic Advance 3 Features:
Notice that the characters are not defined by formation - Tails and Cream are on the same team in 1 shot.
You don't actually play as both characters, but your choice of partner affects where you can go and what your abilities are.
Thanks to Project Blue Gale for finding this.
As with the others, slight wrinkle marks on the cover from the paper clip - otherwise in excellent condition. Starts on page 12 - due to script cut from earlier drafts because of time. Signed on cover page, page 50 & page 100 by Pat Allee & Ben Hurst.
Storyboard from the Sonic Underground Series. Signed by Pat Allee & Ben Hurst on pages 50, 75 & 100. Cover has the usual "paper clip" marks and slight wrinkles, but the rest is in excellent condition.
In 2003, Sega's hyperactive mascot was nearly as overexposed as Bennifer: Sonic starred in two GBA games, milked his back catalog with a GameCube rerelease of Sonic Adventure, headlined a hit cartoon on the Fox network, and even hawked McNuggets to tykes via a successful Happy Meal promotion. All that hoopla, however, paled in comparison to this January's triple-console launch of Sonic Heroes -- an all-new 3D platformer, and his first on both the Xbox and PlayStation 2.
We spoke with Sonic Heroes director Takashi Iizuka (who's headed up nearly every Sonic game since Sonic 3 on the Genesis) about the hog's latest title.

I highly recommend this site because it has a lot of Asian imports (hench the site's name-Yesasia) at very affordable prices (most imports i've noticed online are at least $45-50 at a minimum price), and because the shipping is very speedy, usually within 1-2 days if in stock.
Sonic X Animation OST Info Only $23.99 at Yesasia.com.
Better to pre-order now than have it sold out later. =P

The concern is mimimal since we have an entire year to raise funds for the server. However, it is somewhat important to let everyone know that we are indeed facing a situation, and we ask that when we run donation ads through our sites that we hope for a little generous help. I personally will be offering commissions for drawing and part of the money will go to me, while the rest to the server. My commission rates are located in my DeviantArt Journal. All info will be released on their respective sites when they return (which should be another week). We hope we will be able to provide you with the best Sonic fan entertainment in 2004 and beyond! However, it might require a bit of YOUR help to do it!

It will be on every Wednesday on CiTV (childrens ITV/Carlton) at 3:40pm.
Source: Radio Times Online
Curiously though, the first episode to be aired is Infiltrate Area 99, not Enter the Supersonic Hedgehog, which most know is the first episode in the series. Not sure as to what the reason is, but I am trying to find out.
Edit: Someone has reported seeing an advertisement for Sonic X to air on CiTV on Wednesday, January 21 at 3:40pm in the UK. So this upcoming Wednesday may be the true starting air date.
OneUp Studios has recently announced that it has opened preorders for its newest album "The Very Best of SEGA." TVBoS features remixes from

- Phantasy Star (series)

- and many more
The complete tracklist will be release January 15th, 2004. Preorders and a special Green Hill Zone pre-release track are available here.
"There are no future plans for releasing Sonic the Hedgehog at this time. If youd like more information about DVD/VHs releases please try the following sites.
....Im unware of what occured at MIPCOM, but all I know is that the Sonic the Hedgehog you mentioned will be airing on TV sometime this year. ...Internationally meaninging all over the world, but again we have no specific release date"
Hmm, interesting. It seems odd that DiC is oblivious to their own annoucement they made. You wouldve thought they had some sort of feedback form MIPCOM. But, at least we know that Totally Sonic will be a TV release, and NOT a DVD release at this time.
This demo features one level for each character - Amy in Twinkle Park, Big in Emerald Coast and Gamma in Windy Valley, along with Sonic, Tails and Knuckles' levels from the previously released demo (being Sonic in Emerald Coast, Tails in Windy Valley and Knuckles in Red Mountain).
The demo is about 110 Megs, click on the link called "sadx_trial_a.exe" to download it. The previously released demo (featuring only Sonic, Tails and Knuckles) is under "sadx_trial_b.exe". Bare in mind the demo is in Japanese.

"Hey, Sonic fans! Just wanted to say Happy New Year and thanks for your loyal support during this past year and in previous ones.
Hope you're enjoying the new direction we've taken beginning with issue #130. We at Archie hope to make Sonic even bigger and better in 2004 than it was in 2003.
Sonic Editor J.F. Gabrie and I had a lengthy story conference this weekend to discuss upcoming storylines in the current SONIC series.
Regarding the continuity of Mobius 25 Years Later, it was decided by Justin and myself that even though the future depicted will be the one seen in the SONIC: IN YOUR FACE SPECIAL it is indeed an ALTERNATE future, similar to DC's Elseworld series.
That isn't to say that it won't be action-packed entertainment. Believe us when we say that M:25YL is going to really deliver!
And, sure, Sonic and Sally might not end up being king and queen in the future.
But who knows...
...they just might!
