Meanwhile in Knothole Antoine, depressed because Sally only pays attention to Sonic, decides to get her a bouquet of flowers. Unfortunately he also ends up getting as well! Can sonic get there in time to save him and the forest as well?

"The Bomb Bugs Me"

Sonic comes to inform Sally and Boomer that Robotnik has access to "The Bomb"... To trick Robotnik, they project a picket line on a wall outside his office as Boomer disguises himself as Robotnik to trick Crabmeat into giving "The Bomb" to the freedom fighters, but this plan backfires when Robotnik shows up dressed in a Boomer suit! Think that's crazy? Just wait till you find out what "The Bomb" is!

Meet Bunnie Rabbot! Sonic and Rotor are on mission in Southern Mobius to spy on Robotnik. There they discover Swatbots roboticising a girl rabbit! Sonic rescues her after a half roboticisation attempt and thus we are introduced to Bunnie Rabbot! But it's not over yet, for upon their return to The Great Forest, they come face to robotic face with a giant Burrobot bent on destroying all in sight!

"Lizard of Odd"

The first story to feature Super Sonic! Robotnik has decided to roboticise the ultimate creature - but due to Swatbot incompetence all he gets is a salamander. But thanks to a Buzzbomber that pulls the wrong switch it grows out of control becoming The Universalamander! But this robot isn't under Robotnik's control, and acting as a free agent he proceeds to destroy everything in site!

"Tails' Little Tale"

In a continuation of the above story, while Sonic rests after defeating Universalamander, Tails embarks on his first solo adventure! Unaware of Tails, Robotnik is in the middle of a company picnic. [Yes folks, it is lame!] And unfortunately Tails get plucked by Buzzbomber and Orbinaut, but defeats both of them. However that DOESN'T keep him from the Swatbot's nearby...

"Olympic Trials and Error"

Robotnik challenges the Freedom Fighters to compete in the Mobius Olympic games! If they win even one out of three events, Robotnik "promises" to restore Mobius; but if they LOSE, they'll be fodder for the roboticizer! Meanwhile, before the competition, a SWATbot switches Sonic's sneakers with energy-draining shoes... So when Sonic drops on the track, the other Freedom Fighters (excluding Tails) must take his place! Can they save Mobius? And what is Tails doing anyway?

"Chomp on THIS, Chump"

What Boomer doesn't know is that the farm he recieves came from Dr. Robotnik! Instead of ants, Boomer recieves the Termite-nator, a termite which eats wood and paper and grows as it eats!

The adaption of the Sgea Genesis Game Sonic Spinball! When the freedom fighters attack Robotnik's factory, they find that Robotnik has relocated to deep within Mount Mobius, an active volcano! And it is there where Sonic enters the Veg-O-Matic Fortress where he is attacked by Rexxon and Scorpius! After defeating them, he runs into two allies in the Lava Powerhouse, Hip and Hop, who warn him about the Ferrons. But after Sonic trashes the Ferrons, he comes across a more dire situation - a cell full of animals awaiting roboticization!

"Sonic's Christmas Carol"

The cast re-enacts "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens in this backup story. This is significant ONLY in that Archie FINALLY gets the issue of Rotor's name straightened out.

"Uncle Chuck's Treasure"

Rotor accidentally sends Tails through the roof - literally! It is then that the Freedom fighters find an old treasure map belonging to Uncle Chuck (Sonic 0 and 1 Miniseries). They believe the "treasure" may be an invention that will help them in finally defeating Robotnik! According to the map, the treasure was buried in the old Mobius National Park; unfortunately, the park had since been destroyed by being turned into a toxic waste dump! And when the Freedom Fighters find the spot, Robotnik attacks!

"Sorceress in Distress"

Sally dresses as a sorceress for the annual Fright Night party, but needs a staff to complete the outfit. Finding one in The Great Forest and due to a string of coincidences, she believes it to be real! Robotnik sees the "sorceress" and, unaware that it's Sally, drags her back to Robotropolis; object: matrimony!

"A Little Music Goes a Long Way"

When Sonic finds an old guitar, the rest of the Freedom Fighters decide to form a band. Robotnik hears the music and decides to put a stop to it - With a shrink ray! While the Freedom Fighters rummage through the Mobius Music Hall, Robotnik and Snively finally shrink them, and using his Pest Buster vacuum to suck up the shrunken Sonic!

"Pseudo-Sonic"

Meanwhile, Sonic, out picking flowers for Sally, comes in contact with some poison sumac and blows up like a balloon! And while in an invalid state The Pseudo-Sonic discovers Knothole and is about to reveal its location to the gleefully awaiting Doctor Robotnik!

"What's the Point?"

While looking for a birthday present for Sally, Sonic comes upon a Mobian Needlebird with a broken wing. Wanting to give it as a present, Sally reminds him of other animals the freedom fighters have brought back! Meanwhile the Needlebird, dubbed Thorny, has become quite a nuisance, eating Sally's birthday cake. But as Sally goes off to replace the cake while Sonic returns Thorny to the Great Forest, Sally is caught by a mechanical tree!

"Revenge of the Nerbs"

This is a horrid story BUT this issue marks TWO landmarks - 1. It features the first few complaints about the stories and Manak's art and 2. It is the debut of Art Mawhinney! While attempting to steal power from Robotropolis, the Freedom Fighters are caught in an electric force field. And before the Swatbot Armada can come to claim thier prize, the Freedom Fighters escape through a hole in the ground dug for them by a Nerb, part of an underground-dewlling nasty acting, ungrateful race of underground nerds. (They even look like the candy!) The King Nerbs maintains that contact with surface-dwellers is bad news, but their air vents and water supply are being threatened by construction activity above ground. The Freedom Fighters, now disgusted head towards the surface and discovers one of the old Mobian sewer pipes and come to find Robotnik doing some excavating to build an new underground installation and 3 Nerb prisoners!

"'Twan With the Wind"

The Freedom Fighters use Antoine's hot air balloon to scout out a suitable location for their picnic but when two Buzzbombers attack the balloon Robotnik learns of the picnic and decides to crash it! And when Robotnik attacks, it's up to Antoine to patch up the balloon and come to the rescue!

"The Good, the Bad, and the Hedgehog"

Meet The Anti-Sonic! The Freedom Fighters witness Robotnik dumping toxic waste into a river. Sonic tries taking a "short cut" via the Cosmic Interstate to get there, but winds up on an alternate Mobius where Robotnik is a benevolent doctor and Sonic is a leather-clad punk! - A punk who will cause MUCH trouble later...This story is noteable not only due to the Antisonic, but also because readers would now see MAJOR changes in the stories to come!

"Beat The Clock"

After scarfing a ton of chili dogs as a midnight snack, Sonic dreams that everyone has turned into junk food: Sonic is a chili dog, Sally is an ice cream cone, Tails is an order of fries, and they all confront Chef Ivo Robo-Burger. The fries get caught by Robo-Burger so chili dog goes to rescue him. But he slips on a banana peel and right before Tails gets deep-fried, Sonic wakes up...

"A Timely Arrival"

Robotnik builds a time machine to get rid of Sonic by transporting him to the past! Sonic enters the trap and lands ens up landing in prehistoric Mobius where he meets Sonugh the Boghog, and the caveman Ivo Robughnik and other Freedom fighter ancestors - but they're all afraid of the surface because it offers no cover!

"Bold-Headed Eagle"

Robotnik has attacked with his newest invention - The Rambot! And while avoiding it and Robotnik in the Mobius Mountains, Sonic comes across an old eagle, Cyril who tells Sonic how his flock was roboticized and how he has lived in hiding for so long. Sonic convinces him to risk flying, and he discovers that his flock still exists! Cyril returns the favor by rescuing Sonic when Robotnik attacks!

"The Lynx is a Jinx"

While on a rescue mission, Sonic comes across a lynx named Larry A.K.A. The Super Jinx! And he proves this when the branch of a tree that he's sitting on gives way and injures some freedom fighters on the way down! Heading back to Knothole to nurse their wounds, Sonic tries to find a hiding place for Larry! But when Sonic and Larry learn that the Freedom Fighters have been captured, Larry is sent out to be captured by the SWATbots who, in turn, suffer various misfortunes as well!

"Space in your Face"

Before there was the Death Egg there was Robostorm! And Robotnik plans to launch it into orbit! This device will not only turn living beings into robots, it will also jam all regular television broadcasts and replace them with infomercials! (Nasty, Nasty Robotnik) The Freedom Fighters learn of this and enter the ship. Robotnik appears, however, before they can do any damage to the systems, so off they blast with Robotnik in hot pursuit!

And then he gets cocky as he goes off to face Robotnik - Just as the effects of the fruit begin to wear off...

While out running with, Sonic spies a frog in trouble! For rescuing it, the frog gives Sonic three magic stones: a green one for super strength, a yellow one for leaping great distances, and a red one for elasticity! Since Sonic doesn't believe the frog, he gives the stones to Tails. But when Doc Robotnik, in his new Beetlebot, attacks the Freedom Fighters while they're out testing an all-terrain vehicle! Can Sonic figure out the secret of the stone in time?

As all their fantasies have come true, nobody wants to escape...

This issue features the first death in a Sonic comic as we are introduced to Julayla. While trying to determine the nature of the mysterious orb (Sonic 17), Sally is called to the bedside of her old mentor, Julayla, just before she dies. And it is there that she realizes that her destiny is about to change for the better as she witnesses Julayla's death and becomes closer to Sonic. And somehow, the orb is connected to it... "Night of a Thousand Sonics"

A dimensional doorway has been opened in The Great Forest and out pops the Sonic Cyborg. After landing from the Cosmic Interstate (first seen in Sonic 11), it seems that in his dimension Dr. Robotnik turned the Freedom Fighters into cyborgs. But this was a mistake as the FF's became so powerful that they invaded Robotropolis. In an attempt to stop them Robotnik roboticised himself and became the Robo-Robotnik! If he was evil before now he's worse, and he's set his sights on conquering all dimensions that exist! Thus a mass recruitment of Sonics and bots begin, as Sonic and the real Dr. Robotnik join forces all in hopes of stopping him! But Robo-Robotnik's not through as he recruits Evil Sonic to steal the Giant's Hand in the Neutral Zone, the key to opening Giant Borg and taking over! As Robo-Robotnik wreaks havoc on Mobius can the Sonics stop them?

"The Three Phases of E.V.E"

Robotnik unleashes E.V.E. ["Exceptionally Versatile Evolvanoids"] to capture Sonic. As Sonic manages to outsmart E.V.E., it simply adapts to another form to compensate. Sonic lures it to Robotnik's headquarters where, assuming a self-conscious form, E.V.E. determines that it is being held back by its biological inheritance from Sonic and Robotnik [i.e., individual cells used in E.V.E.'s creation]. So E.V.E. toasts Robotnik, but thanks to some quick thinking by Sonic E.V.E. him and travels out into space on a journey of self-actualization. Is Robotnik really history? That's the tease--So you'll just have to wait until next issue to find out...

Continued from Sonic 21, Take a glimpse into the future where Sonic is married with children and the once thought destroyed Robotnik has come back. Then follow Robotnik to the Spaceship of an alternate timeline and a new Robo-Robotnik (Sonic #19) where this one is operative as a Space station. Upon the real Robotniks return to his own dimension, he comes to find utter chaos as Snively has accidentaly uttered the passcode for "Operation: Wasteland", a program that literally means the destruction of Mobius and the FF's as well...

"Tails' Knighttime Story!"

In an attempt to get Tails to sleep, Sally tells Tails the story of Sir Runalot and Mortail to convince Tails that Sonic's life is filled with danger and hard work, not fun and excitement. The moral of the story being "Never wish to be someone else until you have fought a battle in his armor!"

The Anti-Sonic is looking for some action, so he rounds up the "gang" consisting of the Anti-Sally, the Anti-Tails, the Anti-Rotor and the Anti-Antoine! They then take the Cosmic Interstate to Mobius, dress like their counterparts and steadily proceed to terrorize the Mobian countryside! So where have the Good Guys been all this time? Sonic, Tails and Antoine had been sent by Rotor into "negative reality" though they were unable to penetrate "the Zone of Silence" (aka, The Void) where Sally's father is being held. Sally's been out on a mission with the trainees (The Princess Sally Miniseries). And everyone arrives back in time only to have their fellow Mobians terrorize them! However an attempt to confront the Anti-Freedom Fighters turns into a draw until Sally realizes that there's no way they can defeat their other selves, who would be able to anticipate their strategies. So how do they propose to beat the snot out of them? "Change Partners!"

In the adaption to Sonic CD for the Sega Genesis, the Freedom Fighters discover a zone portal to the Collision Chaos Zone! Robotnik tries to lure Sonic into the zone portal by kidnapping his #1 fan: Amy Rose, the pink hedgehog (remember her?). Tails investigates from the air and is captured as well! So to rescue both Amy and Tails, Sonic must race through the new zones and do battle with Dr. Robotnik's newest invention - The Metal Sonic!
