The Control Centre of the Emerald Hill Zone receive an audio message for help saying a serious malfunction in the Chemical Plant Zone might cause an ecological disaster of pollution on a massive scale. Sonic and Tails go to see how they can help only to discover that the zone is now owned by the Marxio Brothers. The two decide they have to help them even if they don’t like the idea of working alongside the Marxio Brothers so they go to take a look at the factory that once manufactured Mega Mack. As they travel further inside figures form out of the Mega Mack and start to attack, then revealing their plan to cause a mass explosion of Mega Mack that will infect the Emerald Hill Zone making it uninhabitable for hundreds of years.

As time goes on Tails is accused committing more robberies and asks for a chance to prove his innocence before being arrested. When the real thief tries to steal a gold bike frame he is caught red handed and discovered to be called the Leaf, bearing a resemblance to Tails only in the dark, where his two mechanical leaf-shaped wings look like Tails’s tails. He tries to escape and proves to be faster then Tails but soon the batteries to his wings run out causing Tails to caught him and hand him over to the police.

Amy and Tekno are travelling through space, but find themselves lost and decide to ask a local planet for directions. The planet they choose to stop on is Earth and are found by Professor Cratermass who takes them back to his lab where Tekno tries to fix up a gateway to infra-space he’s been working on but can’t figure out the correct data so they can get back to Mobius. However, he’s not the only one to notice the landing and Colonel Granite of Operation Starwatch soon shows up to arrest them.
