"Day of the Death Egg"

Over the Launch Base Zone on the Floating Island the Death Egg slowly rises into the air as Doctor Robotnik celebrates the completion of his master project and decides his first target will be the Emerald Hill Zone. Meanwhile in that zone Sonic and Tails continue smashing the latest group of badniks to attack the zone, but as the last Rhinobot falls to pieces the sky goes strangely dark. Meanwhile the Emerald Hill folk watch as an unpredicted Solar Eclipse blocks out the sun, complete with an unusual moustache. As the people marvel at the sight two red eyes flare red and Robotnik opens fire on the townspeople demanding that Sonic be brought to him. Sonic and Tails arrive and Tails decides to try and fly up to the Death Egg, but Robotnik opens fire and Tails is incinerated. Furious Sonic races up a hill to launch himself at the Death Egg but Robotnik fires again, this time with a powerful enough blast to destroy most of the Emerald Hill Zone.
Grimer switches the lights back on as his demonstration ends, leaving Robotnik egg-static. They received a new Main Thruster that morning and the real launch of the Death Egg is only weeks away.
