When Robotnik organises a convention for all of his supporters, only a fool would dare not show his face. But it takes Sonic and Tails to recognise that the huge buildings are actually giant robotocising plants, destroy them, evacuate the hapless citizens, and generally save the day.
This is one of the first instances of the usually passive citizens of Mobius beginning to fight back against their ruler, and adds a surprisingly serious note to the proceedings.
