Sonic and the Chaotix finally notice that Super Sonic isn’t exactly frozen in the Omni Viewer and come to think that Omni Viewer slowed time down instead of stopping it. However the Chaotix are distracted by the appearance of a mysterious box that makes them live out their worst nightmares when they open it. Lord Sidewinder and his gang come out of the box and reveal that they shrank down by a device supplied by Nack the Weasel, as well as that the box is Lightmare’s doing. It turns out Sidewinder has another scheme to capture Super Sonic and use him as a slave but doesn’t count on Sonic being around and unaffected by the box (Since he wasn’t looking into it when the Chaotix opened it). During a fight Biohazard accidentally hits Sidewinder with some of his toxic sludge and the gang escape to get the antidote. Sonic talks with the others and tells them their old friend Nack the Weasel may be back soon…

Even though there isn’t any proof of his crime Knuckles is still placed in a cell until the sheriff returns from out of town. During the wait it’s revealed that it may be a business rival called Boss Krouch who tried to kill Rooster so that he would have the market all to himself. Over at a bar it turns out to be one of Rooster’s own men, Chito, who started the stampede for Krouch and that Krouch has plans to take care of Knuckles. A gang storm the prison and take him hostage to try and hang him, but in the nick of time the real sheriff shows up and scares them off after setting Knuckles free and full of complaints.

Then he attacks the citizens with the help of a badnik. But Tails manages to use this size to his advantage by flying inside the robot and messing with its circuitry. When the shrink ray wears off Slimy tries to hit him with a more permanent blast, however the blast reflects off the badnik and shrinks Slimy down instead.

Writer: Lew Stringer

After leading Amy, Tails, Shortfuse and Johnny to Robotnik future Sonic reveals that the only chance they have at peace is to side with the evil dictator. But Robotnik tells him he’s a moron to believe that and he isn’t Sonic from the future at all, just a clone created in a lab. Since the clone aged too rapidly to be used to fight Sonic he was instead implanted with the story and sent to bring the Freedom Fighters to Robotnik. In a rage the clone Sonic manages to escape and find Sonic, telling him that his friends are in trouble. While Sonic goes to save them the clone fights Robotnik and defeats him, though the rapid aging causes him to die and change into pure energy that shoots off to the stars.
