Nack believes that now Sonic is micro-sized he can’t cause much of a threat and casually blabs about his mission to return Super Sonic to Lord Sidewinder. Though attacks at Sonic’s size can hardly cause damage to Nack he does put enough force into one spin to knock off the hat Nack was storing the capsules on. He manages to zap Nack with one of the capsules but accidentally gives him too strong of a dose of the chemical, making the weasel disappearing into seemingly nothing. As Vector has knowledge of the capsules he knows which one will return them to the correct size and they take off again to continue their journey. They leave Super Sonic and the trapped Omni Viewer in the asteroid, musing on if Omni Viewer will know what to do when Super Sonic breaks loose. With a last look they seal the exit to the asteroid.

Krouch plans a sneak attack on Rooster before Chico arrives on the scene. Angrily, he tells Chico he already had his chance to kill Rooster, which is enough of a confession that the sheriff and Knuckles (Disguised as Chico) need from him. When he realises he’s been tricked Krouch sets his men on them before making a getaway, only to be followed by Knuckles. At the edge of a cliff Krouch threatens to drop a chemical smelling of the Apterixes’ most feared predator into their holding area causing them to stampede. However, he accidentally falls off backwards and spills the chemical over himself. This makes the herd stampede and crush him to death. To thank Knuckles for his duty and save him the trouble of carrying the heavy chest home he’s given a Pterodactyl to travel with.
