Sonic and the Chaotix (Minus Vector) look for Lord Sidewinder before he can act on his plan to control Super Sonic. While they’re doing this Vector works in a lab called Equinex to bring back Omni. The scientists at the lab tell Vector that when the Black Asteroid explodes it will cause an electromagnetic pulse that will shut down all the computerised systems on the planet. Vector and Omni travel back to where the others have just finished beating Sidewinder to tell Sonic about the Emerald Hill folk being captured and the electromagnetic pulse. Sonic then shout to Omni to teleport the Black Asteroid to Mobius before it explodes…

Knuckles escapes from his prison on the biological computer to try and stop Robotnik before he can fully activate it so Robotnik orders Zachary to destroy him. During the fight Zachary tells Knuckles how he found the Guardian Robots and installed his own software so they’d obey him. Before Robotnik can throw the switch a strange light appears in the sky, the Black Asteroid…

In the capital of Mobius a rebellion has started by all the citizens who have had enough of Robotnik’s rule. Since Grimer’s been left in charge he sends Troopers to deal with it but the Freedom Fighters easily defeat them. In a panic Grimer sends ALL badniks to stop the rebellion but they continue to fight despite being outnumbered. Amy and Johnny run to get some weapons from the Citadel and are attacked by Vermin The Cybernik on the way. The light in the sky distracts them from this problem though…
