I might get some flack for this but I'd go down the dadrock path if I had to choose between the two tbqh
:3
Yeah, I think as much as I like buttrock, Dadrock is winning out here. I'm an old fart at heart.
Neither sound particularly appealing.
Wait, by Dadrock you're referring to The Who, Boston, Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Led Zepplin etc etc?
Because if so Dadrock wins this battle a million times over, no question. In fact, what kind of crazed musical masochist would chose stuff like Poison, Def Leppard or Night Ranger over any of those aforementioned Dadrock bands?!
Yeah but in some musical circles dadrock is seen as an embarrassment and blight to society.
I'm not huge on dadrock but I still enjoy Thin Lizzy, Queen, Pink Floyd, etc.
I do not know either of those terms well but if Dadrock means any 60's rock... how can you make an era a genre?
Question is like do you prefer Anime or American.

Not really a genre, more like a tag or descriptor.
Also plenty of "eras" are defined as their own subgenres within subgenres. It's not an uncommon occurrence.
I suppose Dadrock than, not sure what constitutes buttrock but from the bands listed I don't enjoy a single one of them unless I'm in one of my weird "let's listen to crappy music while we drive" moods, and even then I usually find some Phil Collins or disco.
Buttrock is the current trend of Post-grunge groups like Nickelback, Creed, Godsmack, etc. You could also throw modern metalcore and nu-metal into the discussion as being buttrock as well.

How in the name of all that is holy can you group Godsmack with utter trash like Nickelback and Creed?
I wouldn't call them trash, just painfully dull and utterly predictable. Still, they don't offend me to my inner core like some groups do.
