You know I was just thinking the other day, "we really need another generic horror movie, perhaps another installment in a franchise that has never been considered good or even remotely entertaining." Sounds like I got my wish.

I always wonder why FD never got any love. After like a gazillion slasher films, somebody made one where the killer was not a person, monster, or even a physical entity, but a FORCE. A wickedly creative force that set off a Rube Goldberg-style of events culminating in a death. What's generic about that? And the first 2 sequels improved upon them. I STILL haven't fully recovered from seeing the beginning of #2. Here's hoping this one is better than 4. AND TONY TODD F___ YEAH!

Granted, the premise is rather worn out now. Person has a vision of tragedy, freaks out, starts a ruckus, and gets removed from situation before disaster strikes. But then again, how else do you start a story about people avoiding death's design? I mean, accidently leaving your wallet at home and not being able to get on that ill-fated train isn't cheating death. Seeing the future and then changing it is. But who cares? The point of the movie is to see people die in wildly creative ways. I'm there.

Final Destination 2 is one of my all-time guilty pleasures. I love me some good splatter-kills, and the Final Destination movies are the best in the business at consistently providing the splatter.

Didn't they already do death-by-heat/light with the tanning beds?

So, they're back to numbered sequels? I thought The Final Destination was their attempt at either rebooting, stopping the numbering or.

You know what, I have no idea what they were doing. Welcome back numbered sequels.

Well, TFD was supposed to be the FINAL Destination. I guess they realized it was a kinda disappointing sendoff. They need to beat #3's convoluted deaths this time. So, does this mean Craig is another FD fan here? ALRIGHT! I though I'd be the only guy standing up here.

3 had the best deaths, although I personally like 2 the most. Obviously, the beginning was AWESOME, and so was the double kill: Pipe Impaling and Barb Wire Bisection.

Speaking of The Final Destination (Final Destination 4), I thought the opening disaster was the crappiest and most contrived ever. It was comicly bad. I don't even know how to describe it. ON THE OTHER HAND the

Spoiler
escalator
was very good I thought.

Final Destination 3's

Spoiler
rollercoaster
open was EPICCCC EPICCCCC EPICCCCCC. FD3 wins <3

But really it's a tie )=

Naw, NOTHING beats #2 opening. Quentin Tarantino himself said it was AWESOME. I have been forced to speed to pass a couple trucks carrying cylindrical objects (although I haven't seen a log truck yet) due to pyschological trauma.

But yeah, 2 and 3 tie. 3 has better, more convoluted deaths. 2 has more originality and actually ties directly into the first. 3 was basically a remake of the first (highschool class field trip.) Plus, 2 is also the only one to not have this scenario: person has vision, person freaks out and tries to get off, the group asshole gets really pissed for some reason, attacks person, neutral third party gets caught up in the madness, and they all get thrown out. Person still freaks out, but this time there's no asshole to get pissed off for no logical reason.

4 wasn't bad, but for THE Final Destination, disappointed. The opening was silly (they really overdid it on the exploding cars, I mean seriously!) The deaths were mostly simplistic, which after 3 is just obvious. The ending also pretty much sucked. I gotta give props for the MILF death though, the death wasn't cool, but the suspense was awesome. That one kept you guessing because she was just surrounded by accidents waiting to happen, which ended up not really happening. THEN BAM!

I just now realized that by watching the trailer, I just spoiled a couple deaths. I heard people say 4's trailer spoiled all of them, but I never saw any so that was good.
