Bleeding Cool has managed to acquire a snapshot taken at the
London Toy Fair that shows off an image from the upcoming 2011 series
for Thundercats that will be coming from Cartoon Network this year. The
series is being animated by anime studio Studio 4°C which is known for
their work on the Animatrix and Gotham Knights. the new series has some
known talent behind it with am Register handling the exec producer
duties while Michael Jelenic and Ethan Spaulding are producers.According
to what little is known via Wikipedia, "The show has been hinted at
explaining Lion-O's climb to the throne with a more original anime feel
and darker style.[17] In early November 2010, former Lion-O voice actor
Larry Kenney revealed that he would be playing the role of Lion-O and
Tygra's father Claudius in the opening three-part episode of the new
series."

Well, I guess the whip with three balls attached to the end didn't look as cool as a lazer gun.
Thoughts: I can't wait for Cowboy Thundertank to premire on CN. With that said I actually don't mind the new look as (unlike the original) each character from that promotional poster look different, build wise. Just hope that the acting/ dialouge has changed as well !

I'm just saying that his two biggest series that he has worked on only lasted for two seasons. Spectacular Spider-Man & Gargoyles (Because The Goliath Chronicles did not exists... At ALL).

costume is still magnificently revealing, but she’s replaced her bad
’80s hair with bad Ke$ha hair. Panthro looks like a cross between the
Gray Hulk and Barret from Final Fantasy VII, and if you
understand why both of those characters are awesome, then marry me. And

Well... Tygra still has his Bolo Whip, and Cheetara still has bad hair (Everything is sane in the universe).
Though I don't get what's the knock of the "anime" style, it's like everyone thinks that Filmation did the original?

I'm signing in to quickly abhor this.
I've been keeping close tabs on this, simply becasue this is my favorite cartoon hands down. I understand that the cartoon is being upgraded for current youth, but there are a few HUGE points I need to point out.
1) I don't like Panthro. Don't like big stupid giant panther. Looks dumb, and he's the tech wiz.
2) Cheetara's old outfit was NOWHERE near revealing as this ones. Its was a one piece leotard, and the only "revealing" parts of it was when it was drawn in the comic series that came out in 02-04 (Still gotta get those finished). (Granted, they did her a hell of alot more justice in that comic). This is like 18 yr old high school chick around here in summer at the Puerto Rican Day Festival -.-.
3) Really? Tygra, bolo whip and Gun? I wonder if he even has his TK still -.- I feel Tygra may be the only character still somewhat inclined to the old one, and that's fine with me.
4) Did I just hear you all say BAD voice acting? What! That's what made it 80's GOLD! 'Specially Mumm Ra. I could hear that warbly screech scream all day <3.<3
5) No images of the Wily's disturbs me. Greatly. I wanna see them and I wanna see how they redesigned the hovercrafts.
6) I really hope they burn that CGI film stock and start from scratch again. They can do so much better...
7) If the Thundertank looks like a Murcielago, I'm gonna flip a %@*@.
Snarf-ok I'll concede, Snarf looks awesome and I want 50. I am curious if they're going to do what they said, and make him wild and feral, in a reversal of what we know. I read that Lion-O gets Snarf and tames him and Snarf them becomes more manageable. I can definitely see that happening and I hope it comes true.
9) I know I saw a pic of Slithe.....no sir they changed him up too.
To me, its not Thundercats..its kinda like this weird secondary Anime influenced Thundercats spinoff :/ Or maybe...I'm just too dedicated to the original.

i remember the cartoon... to be honest i perfer these new designs you're right darkest light that it doesnt look like the old thundercats they're more human in this but i perfer this design.... and i totally love the girl character's new outfit then the onepiece tights. mainly cause that made her look like a circus performer. this is more hip.
the original you can enjoy and treasure always but i think its more fun to see something new right? if it was just like the show you loved you wont be getting anything new. though i didnt share that thought when i saw the transformers remake <cries>.

Yeah, I'm not sold on Prime myself. Kind of telling that, on a Transformers forum, two Friendship is Magic thread had more pages than the combined episode discussion pages of Prime.

I *love* that Camaro (and I've been a TransAm girl since Knight Rider, so that's saying something). Unfortunately, I didn't win Tesco's prize draw for a yellow & black special edition Autobot Camaro

...It's alight! Didn't really give off anything that was already been mentioned.
I'll weight judgment when the first episode airs.

Well danged if the show doesn't look decent. But where is Panthro? The show was all about that dude. I suppose I'll make do with King Caneighas in the meanwhile.
Also, I am sad to say, I just heard a thousand furry artists start scribbling the new design of Chetarah. You knew it was inevitable.
They'll pull a Young Justice and introduce Panthro in a later episode.
It has Clancy Brown. I'm intrigued.
