For years, we've heard constantly how bad TV has become, how reality TV has ruined the drama and the comedy. How there aren't any good shows on anymore and things used to be better.

Bullcrap. In fact, I'd say that this last decade, this decade of reality TV, has produced some of the greatest TV serials ever seen.

So let's talk about it. What are you watching right now? What are you looking forward to?

Watching now
Archer
Community
Justified
Fringe
The Chicago Code

Looking forward to
Breaking Bad
Louie
Venture Brothers
Breaking Bad
Metalocalypse
BREAKING BAD

hmm i'd say cartoons but they're all bought DVD sets, for some reason they dont broadcast cartoons here anymore.

I don't see the awesome.

All I see is a bunch of unfunny jokes centered around lame metal stereotypes.

It doesn't help that Brendon Small actually pushes the brand as if it's a legitimate band.

Thing is, Dethklok IS a real band in the same way that the Gorillaz, Spinal Tap and The Monkees were real bands. Instruments are played, albums are cut, live shows are played and tickets are sold. It doesn't hurt that the music itself is pretty damn solid.

Also, 90% of all metal post 1999 is lame metal stereotypes, but the whole 'Metal By Numbers' tangent that could erupt from this is something for a different thread.

Okay, let me rephrase myself. I will never respect Dethklok at all any point in time as if they were a legitimate band. As far as I'm concerned, they're a joke band from a joke show that Brendon Small takes very seriously. But of course, lolopinons.

Also, pretty much 90% of music period follows lame, expected "By the numbers" stereotypes. It isn't anything new to music in general.

So, it's the core concept of Metalocalypse that puts you off from the show. Shame, that. You're missing out, but whaddaya gonna do?

So, is there any show that you ARE looking forward to (he said trying to drag the thread back on topic)?

Personally? I'm not watching anything. I don't even know the shows you mentioned existed.

However, as my TV viewing (that does not include news/weather/politics) is limited to NBA, WNBA, some MLB, some NFL, and a lot of ESPN, that is to be expected.

Speaking of that, the Falcons schedule for the upcoming NFL season is really frontloaded :/

@Chicago, Philly, @Bucs, Packers are 4 out of our first 6 games 😐

Then again the second half of the schedule is insanely easy so it makes up for it for the GREATLANTA SEXCONS.

Def hoping to end the lockout and get a new football season in.

Castor why aren't me and you best friends yet!? I maintain that both Community and Fringe are the two best shows on TV right now and Archer and Justified kick sooooo much ass. Other than those I also tend to watch

Chuck
NCIS
Modern Family
Parks and Rec
The Office
30 Rock

And I'm also looking forward to Louie when it comes back on as well as the final season of Rescue Me.

Burn Notice and Leverage have been my big interest since I saw them premiere. But pretty much anything on FX, USA or TNT get spins and I have recently gave basic network shows a run and found Traffic Light and some others enjoyable.

In this thread, Hukos rips on Dethklok, officially making his musical opinion invalid forever regardless of previous legitimacy or credentials.

Congratulations. 😀

*got all three seasons of Metalocalypse on DVD recently* n__n

(Interesting that he thinks I'm joking.)

Regarding the actual topic: aside from Doctor Who, I haven't actually watched TV in a long time. Instead I've been purchasing and running through shows via DVD, most of them anime or long since off the air.

Ah, television, how I don't really watch thee often nowadays. What I do watch on television usually ends up being a crime drama (all three CSIs, Law & Order, NCIS, Criminal Minds and The Mentalist). Everything else I watch streaming online (mainly anime).

On another note, please keep the topic on topic, and quit the back and forth drama, joking or not. One's preference for a band, animated or not, has nothing to do with the price of tea in China. Good day.

My favorite show right now is Breaking In. It's clever, it's funny, and there are always unexpected plot twists that catch you by surprise. The acting is great, and Christian Slater is awesome in it. Aside from him and the occasional guests the rest of the cast are all unknowns (except for Trevor Moore, cuz I'm the only one that knows him, and he's kinda my comedy hero)

Fox is brutally clear-cutting under-performing shows from its lineup, cancelling five series tonight in order to make room for new shows next fall: "Human Target" was shot down for a third season, Christian Slater is now 0 for 3 as a TV series lead because "Breaking In" was dumped, "The Chicago Code" and "Lie to Me" were just taken out and "Traffic Light" was switched off.

The moves represent an aggressive stance by Fox, which is declining to sink any further investment in modestly performing titles and opting to gamble on fresh shows instead.

"Human Target" was finally axed after undergoing a trip back to the drawing board. Though the show was considerably revamped for this season, the actioner struggled to gain ground in the ratings.

EW.com: 'Idol' boosts 'Human Target', 'Minute' surprises

"Target" averaged 7.6 million viewers and a 2.2 rating in adults 18-49 this season, including DVR use, but was down from its first season average of 2.9. "Lie to Me" is also gone -- it averaged exactly the same as "Target," and dropped the same amount from last season.

Fox also pink-slipped "Breaking In," the freshman comedy about a security team that starred Slater. The show averaged a healthy 2.9 in the ratings due to a strong premiere, but more recent episodes fell off considerably despite following "American Idol."

Fellow post-"Idol" freshman straggler "Traffic Light" is also gone.

And bummer for Jennifer Beals: Her freshman cop drama "The Chicago Code" was also cancelled.

Creator Shawn Ryan retweeted the news and wrote: "Dammit."

The cancellations come on the heels of Fox giving a series orders to "Bones" spin-off "The Finder" and to J.J. Abrams' new prison mystery drama "Alcatraz." The network also picked up two new comedies starring Zooey Deschanel and Jaime Pressly.

-Archer- Daaaaaaaaaaaaanger Zone! Extremely quotable... And it brings several of the Arrest Development cast together.

-Burn Notice- Had a buddy who pestered me to watch it... So glad I finally gave in . One of the best action shows on TV. Also introduced me to the absolute AWESOMENESS that is Bruce Campbell . Just watched the Sam Axe movie and am super pumped for Season 4 to start in June.

-Big Bang Theory- I had a physics prof who loved this show. Definitely could loose the laugh track. Sheldon is awesome though. And the science jokes are surprisingly accurate

-Castle- FILLION... And Katic <3. Surprisingly good take on the tried and true CSI formula. The show also has a surprisingly strong cast of supporting actors.

-Chuck- I honestly started watching the show because Adam Baldwin from Firefly is in it. So glad I did. Flowershop girl from Scrubs plays Chuck's sister =D. Oh and I love the over the top Subway sponsorship =D

-How I Met Your Mother- Standard comedy, but NPH and Jason Segel totally make the show work.

-It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia- Crude, rude... yet completely hilarious. Danny Devito is a horrible human being =D

-South Park- Not much to say...

SHOWS I TRIED TO WATCH THIS SEASON BUT JUST COULDN'T =|
- The Cape- Premise looked interesting, but not even Summer Glau could save this train wreck =|... It's pretty bad when NBC cuts the episode count from 13 to 10...

Figured I'd copy and paste my previous post from Yuku here. I do have more to add to it.

First off is Chuck has been renewed for a 5th and final season :D. Tonight's episode, the season finale, is titled "Chuck vs the Cliffhanger", so many of the fans would have been pissed if it had been canceled. 13 more episodes should be just enough for them to completely wrap everything up I also need to make note that they have done an amazing job with cameo appearances throughout the entire series. Tony Hale (Baby Buster from Arrested Developement), Chevy Chase, Brandon Routh, Summer .Glau, Old Spice guy, Timothy Dalton, and Linda Hamilton just to name a few.

EDIT:
Started watching Dexter on... Saturday? I'm on the 5th episode of season 2 atm =D. Pure awesome so far
