Hey there, this is just a general topic for the current graphic novel/manga medium that you're reading at the moment!

Personally I haven't been reading that much manga lately, instead focusing on more graphic novels.

Just caught myself up to speed with Marvel's cosmic storyline that started in Annihilation up to Realm of Kings. Utterly incredible stuff so far, especially the Guardians of the Galaxy series. I always love it when a comic that focuses on B/C List characters always turns out awesome and ends up making them your favourite characters <3 Anything which has a talking, royal king who's a tree, or a talking raccoon blasting stuff WITH BIG GUNS and a telepathic russian astronaut dog is always king in my eyes.

Now I've just started Robert Kirkman's Invincible series. It's pretty good so far with some wonderful characters and artwork but it hasn't grabbed me immediately from the start like The Walking Dead, although I'm definitely invested enough in it to see the series all the way through.

What about you?

Pokemon Special, is that what's known as Pokemon Adventures in the west? Because if so, much <3 to it. I need to catch up on it, only got up to vol.24 I think with the Fire Red/Leaf Green saga.

Have you read that new Pokemon manga which is supposed to be more mature and features people being able to actually transform into Pokemon?

What series is that, Mada? I'm not a massive fan of shoujo series but the 80's classics are always awesome.

I read mostly in trade so what I'm currently reading is as follows

Invincible
The Walking Dead (I pick these two up as soon as I can)
Jason Aaron's Ghost Rider (I just got the final trade and I can't wait to read it!)
Superman: Earth One (Very good "ultimate" version of the Superman story, up there with Man of Steel and Birthright.)

No, Pokemon Adventures is Pokemon Adventures...at least in the States. I've been keeping up with it as it publishes over here. If the show followed the manga....oh what an epic anime it would be. I haven't checked out the Black/White or DPP series yet. Been trying to keep up with the Deadpool tradeback releases, as well as One Piece and Hayate the Combat Butler. Outside of those four I have a few other titles I follow, but nowhere near as closely.

....new pokemon manga where people turn into pokemon? Are you thinking of the Mystery Dungeon adaptations? And ....24 volumes of Adventures regular? I will need more shelves.

I just finished the Transformers parody Incredible Change-Bots by Jeffery Brown. I liked it enough to buy the second book which should be coming in the mail soon.

Much love for Invincible and Walking Dead <3 <3 I've read up to vol.13 of The Walking Dead so far and my god, what a ride its been so far. I've seen a few scans and spoils of the issues afterwards that'll appear in vol.14 and geez do things look like they get any better.

How is Jason Aaron's Ghost Rider, btw? I've never really been a fan of the character, but then again haven't read a decent story featuring him. I'm always willing to read fantastic stories though that hopefully elevate the character to a more awesome standing. The omnibus has been very, very, very tempting to pick up but again I have no idea about the quality of the series. How long is it and is it definitely worth picking up?

I wasn't much of a fan either until I read Aaron's take. Aaron takes all of the mess that is Ghost Rider's continuity and makes it make sense in a way similar to how Ed Brubaker and Matt Fraction rebooted Iron Fist. The big overarching story is Johnny Blaze's quest to kill the rouge angel Zadkiel who has been attempting to take over Heaven. However Aaron introduces tons of other fun subplots and twist along the way. From gun-totting nuns to haunted highways to demonic truck drivers, Aaron makes Ghost Rider feel like one big Grindhouse flick and the entire thing is awesome. Aaron's run goes from #20-35 with an Annual and a 6-issue mini that ties it up called Heaven's On Fire (which is the only part of the run I have yet to read.) I'd highly recommend it as it's probably the greatest thing ever done with the character.

Sounds awesome, the omnibus has already been ordered. =D I've also been meaning to check out Iron Fist, I have to say that that looks super awesome <3

Also ordered the first two Starman omnibuses. I've got absolutely no background knowledge on the character before, especially since I've never been a major DC fan. But I've heard nothing but good things about it, so yeah, ordered.

My backlog increases X_X;;

I've been meaning to read Starman because I've heard such great things so hopefully it's a good read. And Iron Fist is also a great read, it's drops a little once Brubaker and Fraction leave but is still interesting enough to keep up with.

See I've personally got some doubts about Fraction's stuff. I've still got his Invincible Iron-Man stuff to read but his Uncanny X-Men work was terrible . I will say that Brubaker is bloody awesome though, <3 the Cap stuff.

But yeah, I'll try and get around to maybe reading Iron First. Seriously, though, my backlog is freakin' ridiculous.

Uncanny was a rare misstep for him, I don't think he does well with team books (the same can be said for Brubaker if you've read his Uncanny) but he rocks on Iron Man and from what I've heard his Thor is pretty rad too.

I don't read much Superhero genre comics as they don't really interest me that much; that and collecting some series to try out looks to be more expensive that I initially thought which is preventing me from wanting to try them. One of my friends has insisted that I at least try out the Young Avengers but I've been pretty hesitant, but this is mostly because of financial reasons atm.

Although, I have been keeping up with some comics: the 2 Sonic books, I just picked up the first Bone trade recently, Boom's Muppet Show comic but it seems to have stalled and there doesn't seem to be any time frame where the last four or so unreleased issues any time soon =( , and Atomic Robo.
