Just to clear at least one up for you right off, I'll talk about Team Rose, the only official Sonic Heroes team that I altered.

Along the same storyline as this fic, I introduced Cream. Of course, it was natural for her and Amy to become friends. However, I brought Tikal in since she wants to get back Chaos, who is playing on the dark side in the fic. She strikes me as a much better choice for Team Rose's power member than Big the Cat, particularly since I find it somewhat disturbing that there's one guy on Team Rose, and the girls on the team all wear dresses. I figure, it's more decent to get rid of Big and replace him with a character more likely to get along with Amy and Cream. Tikal, like Big, is a Sonic Adventure introduced character, so it fit to me.

Ok. I don't mind asking a bit since this seems like it could be a fun project. And this is the best forum for the discussion, yay!
Why Rotor and not Ant on Team Freedom? He battles more than the walrus and has a tighter afiliation with both gals (works for the royal family, boyfriend/husband to Bunnie) I like Rote but he doesn't seem to me an action guy, more an inventor.
I really like Nic as a character and she's never struck me as traitor or villain unlike Drago and now Fiona. Nic has been shown loyal to her friends/teammates, willing to choose life over money (saving Ray while destroying the jewel), and when she was hired to capture Knuckles he was Chaos-powered goony bird that could destroy lots of stuff. The criminal stuff she did-- hired gun, tournament fighting, hunting ancient treasure-- is no worse than Rouge's actions who is portrayed as a mostly heroic character with a bad quirk (steals stuff). So maybe a team name change? Team Raiders or something?
Good luck with this, sounds like a big undertaking. Some teaser paragraphs showing teams interacting (preferedly not the Sonic Heroes ones) would be neat.

Well, Antoine never really struck me as a power character; he'd probably be speed. Rotor, as a Walrus, fits the category of power, since he's got so much bulk. Besides, I like to think that underneath his geek exterior there's a brawler waiting to come out.

As for Team Traitor, not all of these Teams are named to fit all the members. Team Cyber, for example, has only two members who fit those qualifications: Julie-Su, the cyborg, and NICOLE, the computer. Team Traitor applies to the fact that both Fiona and Drago have betrayed previous teams before ending up where they are now. Ergo, I called them Team Traitor.

Now I want to explain a few other teams I think people might be confused about. First, we have Team Ancient, composed of Mephiles, Black Doom, and Chaos. Now, this sort of ties in with Team Metarex. Black Doom and Dark Oak are both alien leaders that I brought into the Archie universe for this fic, the two of them leaving behind their forces since Finitevus arranged an alliance between them in exchange for a brief period of their assistance. Mephiles the Dark is the same sort of villain I see Black Doom as, so I think that Finitevus would pair them up. As for Chaos, he fits in with the whole "Ancient" concept too, having been turned evil again-temporarily-by Finitevus. As for Team Metarex, though there's only one Metarex on the team, he's basically the team leader, so Finitevus will name it that.

Also, I'd imagine that a number of people are confused by Team Void. The way I have it worked out, Finitevus found Zan after Sonic beat him and healed him, using his powers to destroy Zan's mind kind of like Naugus' was destroyed by either Mogul or the Egg Grapes. Finitevus' plan in the story is to make Enerjak the master of all Chaos, so he bargains with Feist, exchanging Naugus, Feist, and the promise of future prisoners for the Echidnas within the Special Zone and the six remaining Chaos Emeralds Feist has.
