Okay dokey people, It's another thread by me! I used to have a sprite thread before, I'm certain, but looking back through the 18 pages, I can find 2 of my art topics, 2 of my comic topics, and the character design clinic (which I still miss from before the EZ hack, but obviously it was uneeded) but no sprite thread.
Oh, and 2 fic threads.
So...huh.
Anyway, recently I've been quite into spriteing, going from basic edits to full scratch like a SNAP.
The most efficent thing to do would be to link you to my B&G thread, but that would be lazy, so I'll put some some of my efforts in here for Comments and Critique.
Crimson!
Various Foskys, I have a ton of these, including the THSassimilated Fosktaur form and a bunch with Lokki's head.
And a naked version.
Doc Wily and his robot masters, in a more human style. They have an interesting story behind them I'll expand on at some point.
Lastly HowlMan, ie Robot master Crim. But this has been updated recently making it taller and more in line with MM7 style.
So?
A lot of these look very impressive. Especially your foxes. I've never understood how a sprite is made. Do you have to be really tech savy to make one?
From one spritist to another... Your sprites are hawt Crimmy. =P
Tech savvy? Heh, nah, as long as you know how to use MSpaint your good to go! It's basically just drawing, but on a small scale ^^;
Now, getting it so that any movement and stuff like that looks natural, that's another matter entirely >.> As can be seen in how gawd awful HowlMan's Howl pose looks ^^;
Anywhom: Rock (with a squashed helmet that was fixed in later versions) Roll and Dr Light!
And Rock's telepr0t!
lollerz, Super Roll =3
Hey, Crim, do you do your sprites from scratch, or do you have a base model to work from?
Everying in this thread except for Howl man is total scratch, HowlMan used some generic reploid kit as a base originally though.
But like I said, the rest are scratched, though I often cheat and re-use torsos and such. And Super Roll was great fun!
Oh, okay, that's pretty cool, Crim.
LINK PLZ n_N @ generic reploid kit
I can't remember where I found it D: I think it might have been somewhere on the people's sprites, try searching that Nn
Ye gods and little fishes it's been a while hasn't it.
Well, I too an disinterest in the internet for a while, but tonight I simply felt like doing some pixel pushing. Didn't do much mind you, but I did some. Anywhom...
First up, something I should have posted ages ago, it's months old, but...
Rock Light, fixed helmet.
Next up is what I've been up to tonight. I have always generally despised my design for Gutsman. Originally he was suposed to be a simple anolouge of the original design-wise, but quite frankly, I couldn't get it to work. Hence tonight I have sat down and worked on getting him to look less like a tuti-fuity sweet, and more like a bulldozer. Thus I present, Gustav Mayler Wily-Light V2.0:
The design dosn't actually differ that much, like my version of fireman, it's mosly inverted colours, plus extras here and there. The stripes just seemed nessicary.
Updated HowlMan. Weeeeee...
ololz, his head is his butt.
still, it makes for an interesting tail.
i like the sprite before he changes into his more human form.. nicely detailed! ^^
Ssshhh, don't tell anybody, but that wolf sprite is a simple recolour =P
ah, sorry..i was mislead by the fact that nearly everything else in this thread is scratched or edited.. recolours? i'm ashamed of you! >>
Yeah, me too =( But taking that recolour and then transforming it with animation into a robot was kinda interesting ^^;
Anyway lets get some more scratchwork in here eh?
Sonic Wolf, or Reploid Crim ;P A still unfinished sheet, he still needs to be able to jump. Sonic Wolf has sound based attacks, and is scared to death of going maverick. And that's not a spear, it's a big Future!Guitar =P
Grunge, probably the most commonly named robot ever! Grunge is too heavy to run or jump, so I'm not spriting either of those ;P Also seen here, his alter ego, Recolour Man, and his creator Dr Jeramiah Gun.
A still pose of Roy Mustang, after watching a FMA marathon ^^;
8-bit version of Zen in casual clothes. Just because.
Speaking of Zen, heres a sheet of him. This ones actually a Forte edit because I started before I was confident in spriting. But I kinda like him that way. Needs some attack poses and some casual clothes still.
Rawr!
Oh, and heres the individual frames for HowlMan, including the exact moment his head comes out of his butt =P
Brings this back with a rotospote electric kitty man!
An updated Sonic Wolf with ludicrous clothing!
A burly bloke!
And Crimson sprites through the years!

Night!
