Hands Of Wrath: Chapter One

Sallys eyes flickered open. She wasnt outside anymore. Trying to get up, Sally winced in pain as her left shoulder stung. Switching to her right, she propped herself up to take a look at her surroundings. She was back in Knothole and in the infirmary it looked like. She glanced down and saw Sonic, fast asleep, leaning on the bed with his arms supporting his head as a cushion. She noticed a large bruise on Sonics back and on his right temple. His left arm was covered in a profusion of cuts. Sitting up, Sally gently ran her fingers through his quills, as tears came to her eyes. It all seemed like dream. Sonic was here, Robotnik was dead and hopefully, so too was Eggman. As she stroked his quills, Sonic stirred. He gazed up and his eyes met with Sally.
Are you alright? Sonic asked.
Why didnt you say you were injured? Sally asked.
I didnt want to worry you.
Sally just looked at him.
Im sorry. I was looking out for your best interests. Sonic apologised.
Thats o.k. but please tell me in future. Sally said, putting her arms around him. Sonic lent in close. I lost you once and I dont intend on losing you again. Sonic raised his arms and placed them around her and slowly caressed her lower back. O.k. Now lets get your wounds treated. Sonic said parting from Sally. Sally watched as Sonic disappeared into a small orderlys office. Sally lent back down, wiping tears from her eyes. Sonic appeared with a first aid kit. Placing it on the small side table, he opened it up and withdrew some butterfly sutures, gauze and anti-septic. Sally was a little worried. Sonic looked over and noticed Sallys anxiousness. Sonic patted Sallys hand, smiling softly. Sally smiled back nervously. Whats wrong? Sonic asked. Im just a little worried about what your going to do. Replied Sally. Sonic patted her hand softly. Im just going to clean up that head wound of yours. He answered. Just relax Sal. Sonic said, emptying some anti septic onto the gauze. Now this might sting a little. He said pushing Sallys hair back and taking her hand in his. Sally tensed up. Sonic squeezed her hand in reply. He slowly applied the antiseptic to Sallys head wound. Sally let out short gasps of breath as the anti-septic took hold. Sonic was right, it did sting. Sonic quickly brushed the wound and put the gauze piece in the small bin near the bed. Releasing Sallys hand, Sonic picked up a butterfly suture and placed it on the wound. It took five sutures altogether. Then he brushed Sallys hair back over the wound. How do you feel? Sonic asked.
A little bit better. Sally said in reply.
Im sorry if I hurt you.
You didnt hurt me.
Thats good to know. Sonic said. Sally smiled up at him. Sonic returned the smile. Reaching up, Sally put one hand to the side of Sonics face. Sonic raised his hand to hers and held onto it. Sally gazed into Sonics eyes. She couldnt believe how gentle his touch had been. It was a new side of Sonic she hadnt seen. Moving her hand around the back of Sonics neck and pulled him closer. Sonic knelt down as Sally brought her other arm gently around his neck. Sally held him to her. Thank you. Sally whispered into his ear as she silently wept. Sonic gently wrapped his arms around Sally. Anything for my girl, anything.

&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Sally slowly opened her eyes. She half expected Nicole to go off, but she remembered that Nicole was damaged. She sat up and noticed that the bed that Sonic had used for the last two days was empty. Sally started to worry a little. Where was he? In response to that question Sonic came striding in. Morning Sal. Sonic greeted. Morning Sonic. Sally replied, getting out of bed. She wanted to see if her shin had healed at all. The floor felt cold under her bare feet, but at least she could put a little weight on it. Sonic smiled as he watched Sally stand upright.
Do you know when the others will be back? Sally asked him.
They should be back in a three months. The Northern Freedom Fighters have offered to train them, so were going to be alone here for a while. Everyone has said what amazing technology the Northerners have. Im betting that they want to get in a bit of knowledge before they come back. Sonic said. Sally stumbled over to Sonic. Sal, you need rest. Its a bit early to move that shin of yours. Sally ignored him and came right up to him. Sonic looked into Sallys eyes. Then she put her arms round him. This caught sonic off guard. Huh, What the? Sonic stuttered. Thank you. For all youve done for me over these two days. Sally said. Hey, its nothing. Sonic replied as Sally snuggled up next to him. Sonic lightly placed his arms around Sally and hugged her back. What are we doing about the communication network? asked Sonic. I think we should scrap the whole thing. Sally said from Sonics shoulder. Sonic rubbed Sallys back gently.
Ive had an idea and I wanted to tell it to you. Sonic said.
What is it? Sally asked.
Well, seeing as Robotnik is no more, I thought we could raid the ruins of Robotropilis for any useful stuff. Sally was silent.
The Northerners raided the northern and part of the western city and turned up some good stuff including a few unprogrammed Swat bots that they are going to use as sentry drones. As well as a load of spare guns they got from a decommissioned warehouse.
How did you find this out? Sally asked.
I spotted a poster in Knothole when I went to get some supplies. Sonic said to Sally as he continued to stroke her back. Also, Ive heard that the Southern FFs have gathered under a new leader.
Thats good to hear. I must meet them sometime. Sally said as she got comfortable on Sonics shoulder.
So what do you say to the ideas of raiding Robotropilis? Sonic asked.
I suppose so, but only if you stay close. Sally replied, stroking Sonics quills.
Everyone is trying to find Robotniks tower as thats where all the good stuff is, or so they say.
But Robotniks tower was destroyed in the explosion. Sally pointed out.
Yes and as we are the only people to have made regular raids into Robotropilis, we know which ruins are Ro-butt-niks tower, so that means that we can get all of the good stuff as well as the robotizer if it isnt blown to bits to help my Uncle Chuck and Muttski. Sonic replied.
I suppose we could do with the extra computers to help deal with anything that comes along. And I suppose it would be a good idea to get the Robotizer before it falls into the wrong hands. Sally replied. I guess it wont hurt. I would like to get my hands on some of Robotniks hardware.
Thanks Sal. Sonic said and he hugged Sally a little closer. Sally snuggled up to Sonic in response. Sonic had stopped stroking her back and his arm was now wrapped round her lower back. Sally held the back Soincs head. Sally knew what this meant to Sonic. He missed his uncle so much, as well as his pet dog. Also his parents, who were robotized shortly after Julians coup dtat. Sally felt Sonics body convulse in suppressed sobs. Its o.k. Im here. Dont cry Sonic. Sally spoke soothingly. She gently stroked his quills. Itll be alright. Ssshhhh. Sally said as she gently stroked his quills and snuggled up next to him. Sally knew that this meant a lot to Sonic. If all went well then a lot of pain could be undone. Come on, thats my brave hedgehog. Sally said. Its alright Im right here for you and I always will be.

Hands Of Wrath: Chapter Two

A day later and Sallys shin had healed enough to allow her to walk on it as she and Sonic made their way to the ruins of Robotropilis. It took them the best part of the morning to get there. Sally never realised the road was so long without Dulcy to fly them to Robotropilis. Picking trough the rubble, Sally was amazed at how quickly the smog had cleared. Making their way to a small ruin that could be passed off a s a factory ruin save for one thing. It had a piece of bridge hanging from it. This was all that remained of Robotniks tower. Sally gazed up at the blasted front gate. It seemed more tame without the threat of swat bots, hover bots and the like. They were to make for the lower levels, where the robotizer was stored. Upon entering, Sally could see what a mess the bombs had made of the tower. A path to the lifts could be made out. AS she mad their way to them following Sonic, Sally stumbled on a piece of metal. Ah. Sally gasped in pain as she felt her shin zing with pain. In a moment sonic was at her side. You o.k. Sal? Sonic asked. Yeah. Im fine. I took a little trip thats all. Sally reassured Sonic. Getting up, she followed him to the destroyed lift area with a dull throbbing pain in her right shin. Sallys first thought was how they were going to get down when Sonic branched off to one side. Sally wondered what he was doing as he started to pull pieces of metal off a pile of rubble not too far to their left. What are you doing? asked Sally inquisitively. Hold on. Sonic grunted as he heaved at huge piece of sheet metal. After Sonic pushed it back, Sally saw a door that had been hidden by the metal. Opening the door, Sally could see that it was pitch black inside. Removing two torches from his backpack, Sonic handed one to her. Sally clicked it on and found the beam to be very bright. Following Sonic inside they started down the stairs. Trust Robotnuik to think ahead. Sonic commented as they descended deeper in to the ruins. Soon the stairs ended at a door. Pushing against it with all his weight, Sonic slowly pushed the door open. This area was different in that it was lit and hardly any rubble was in this room. I dont like this. Sally said. I think your right. Lets just find what we need and get out of here. Sonic said. Sonic walked over to a desk and picked up a pile of papers. Could you check and see if any of the computers over there are working? Maybe we could get some info on the Robotizer. Sally turned to look at the wall opposite. On a desk, Sally noticed a computer with a blinking curser. Curious as to why it was still on, she went to investigate. The robotizer used to be in this room. Sonic said with a hint of frustration in his voice. Sally stepped up to the computer and stared at the message on screen. Private reports of Doctor Ivo Robotnik. The file said. Sally moved the mouse icon over and double clicked it. It showed schematic for a robotizer that was portable. But one icon caught her eye. Reversing the mobilization process. Sally clicked on it without further delay. Suddenly their was a siren and a mechanical voice garbled over the tannoy. Intruder alert. Preparing test cannon. Defences online. Subject is secure. At the sound of this sally backed away looking at the flashing red light over here head. She looked at Sonic, Worried about what would happen next. RUN!! Sonic yelled over the siren. Sally jumped down the small steps and made for the door, But she tripped on a protection shield that jutted partway out the floor, jarring her right ankle badly. Looking over her shoulder, she saw a gun come out the ceiling and aim at her. Sally closed her eyes and covered her face. The gun fired then the voice started up again as the siren died away. Test complete. Sally opened her eyes to see Sonic looking down at her.
You alright? He asked.
Im fine. What happened?
Not much. A small green laser hit your right foot. Are you o.k.?
Yeah, Im fine but I think Ive done my ankle in. Sally replied.
Lets get you back to Knothole. Sonic said as he plucked Sally up and took off up the stairs.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Once they were on the road, Sally looked at Sonic. Im.Im sorry. Sally said Its all my fault. She said starting to cry.
It wasnt your fault. Sonic said. You werent to know that would happen.
I thought I would try to help but instead I put you out. Sally said through her tears. Sal, Dont blame yourself. I was the one that asked you to go and check the computers so it wasnt any ones fault. He said hugging her close to him. Come on, dry those tears. Sally snuggled up close to Sonic. Once they were back at Knothole Sonic took Sally straight to the infirmary. Does your shin still hurt? He asked. Yes, a little. Sally replied. O.k. Wait here and Ill get some painkillers for you. Sally waited as Sonic disappeared into the doctors office. He reappeared a short time later with a glass of water and two pink oblong pills. Sally swallowed them straight down. Its getting late. Sonic said looking at the clock on the wall above the door. Ill take you to your room. I bet you prefer your own bed over these hard beds. Sonic said as he scooped Sally up in his arms and carried her down the hall to her own room and bed. Sleep well. Sonic said as he closed the door after him. Sally smiled as the door closed too. Slipping off her waistcoat, she got up and stumbled over to the peg and stumbled back. Pulling off her boots, Sally checked the bruise on her shin. It had gone down but it still looked nasty. Also he foot seemed o.k., The laser didnt seem to do anything to it. Relieved to find nothing out of the ordinary, Sally settled down for some much needed sleep. When she woke up next morning, her right foot felt heavy. She pulled the duvet aside and gasped in horror at what she saw.

Thuis chapter is a little shorter then the others but it should answer the question about what happened last chapter.

Hands Of Wrath: Chapter Three

SONIC, HELP!! Sally yelled. She couldnt believe what she was looking at. SONIC!! Sally yelled again. Her bedroom door crashed open and in run Sonic. Whats wrong, Sal? Sonic asked. Sally looked down at her foot. Sonic followed her gaze and gasped at what he saw. Sallys right foot had been robotized. Her tawny brown fur had been replaced with grey, shiny metal. When did this happen? Sonic asked. I found it like that just now. Sally replied through her tears. Her gaze returned to her foot. Sonic sat down next to her and put his arms around her to comfort her. Sally held onto one of Sonics arms with her own. Calm down, its alright, Im her now. Calm down. Sonic said soothingly. Sally sniffed as she pulled herself closer to Sonics chest. Sonic gently stroked Sallys hair with his finger tips. I think I know what that green laser was. Sonic said softly. Dont worry, Ill get the de-robotizer from the ruins. Sally calmed down a little. Sonic was right, Robotnik mustve had a de-robotizer. Now lets see about what we can do about that foot of yours. Standing up, Sonic suggested that Sally wear her boots as normal until he can find the de-robotizer. Walking into the mess hall along side Sally he sat her down and got breakfast for the two of them. Sally didnt eat much of it. Her foot was still plaguing her mind. Sonic noticed this and put his arm round her. Try to eat something, you need all the strength you can get. Sonic told her. Sally knew he was right. She managed half of it before she was finished. Sonic decided to take Sally into the planning room to relax. Upon entering, they both noticed a flashing red light on the table. A message had been sent to the base. Walking up to the blinking light, Sally pressed the button. A holographic message of as face came up. Sonic gritted his teeth. The bald, weasel moustached face of Dr Eggman started out at them. Oh ho ho. Well, long time no see Sonic. Thought you destroyed me in that explosion? Itll take a lot more then a few explosives to get rid of me. I knew you would come to look for the de-robotizer, so I set a little trap for you. I didnt expect your girlfriend to set it off. Your not like the version of Sonic that I fought. You might make a worthy adversary, So I have decided to play a little game with you. I have scattered the de-robotizer parts all over Mobius and you have to collect them. Sound simple? Dont count on it. Each of the pieces is looked in a container that only your half robot girl can open. At this Sonic instinctively put his arms around Sally. And if you try to open the containers without your girl then they will explode. The first piece you will find at Mt Mobius. Also I must warn you that the robotizer virus that your girl is infected with is a fast spreader so I suggest you get a move on, if you want to save your girlfriend. The message dimmed and faded. Sally took off her right boot. Her ankle was starting to turn robotic. Without a second thought sonic scooped up sally and sped off toward Mt Mobius.

Hands Of Wrath: Chapter Four

Mt Mobius stood in the distance as a large grey blob on the horizon. Sallys gaze was fixed on the small grey mass in the distance. Sonic poured on all the speed he could muster. The mountain slowly came into view and Sally could see the individual crags and crevices of the mountain. A small worn path ran up the side of the mountain, as many used it as a lookout point and, until recently, a communications dish site. Sally had felt her leg grow heavier during the trip to the mountain. Sonic placed Sally down and looked up at the edifice before them. While Sonic glanced from side to side looking, for the container, Sally had rolled down the shin part of her boot. Sonic. Sally uttered with some worry in her voice. Sonic glanced over and saw what was worrying Sally. The metal had spread up from her ankle to the beginnings of her shin. We need to hurry. Sonic told Sally as she rolled up her boot. Theres a path round the side of the mountain we could use. Sally pointed out. Without a word, Sonic plucked Sally up and sped up the side of the mountain. In no time at all, they reached the top. Now, that capsule should be around here somewhere. Sonic said thoughtfully. Freeze! Yelled a voice. A soldier popped out from behind a rock aiming a rifle at them. He was closely followed by a second and then a third. All of them were wearing some type of casual wear that seemed to double up as uniform. Sonic and Sally raised their hands. Slowly the soldiers advanced. Sally could see a logo on one of the helmets of the soldiers. A jagged double F within a circle. Southern Freedom Fighters. What are they doing this far north? Sally thought to herself. Suddenly, what appeared to be their leader came striding from around a rock. He was a tall guy that wore ankle high black lace up boots, ripped camo trousers from which hung a gun holster for a pistol as well as a variety of pouches. He also wore a black singlet top on which a pair of Dog Tags jangled and a pair of immensely black shades. He must be the leader. Sonic whispered to Sally. Dont tell him about whats happening to me. Sally whispered back. Leave it to me Sal. Sonic whispered in response. Whats all the ruckus? he asked walking over. weve caught some of Eggmans spies sir. One of the soldiers reported, saluting as he did so. Right lets have a look at them. He said striding up to Sonic. He looked him up and down and walked in a full circle round him. Then he did the same to Sally. After he did this, he turned to the soldiers assembled. You blithering idiots. These arent spies, these are the leaders of the Western Freedom Fighters. Theyre the ones who demolished Robotropilis. Sorry sir. one of the soldiers apologised. Dont let it happen again, now return to your posts. The soldiers disappeared behind the rocks from which they sprung from. The commander turned to them. Sorry about that. Names Mongooza, leader of the Southern Freedom Fighters. And you must be the heroes Sonic and Sally that I heard so much about.
Pleased to meet you Mongooza. Sally said.
Hey glad to see a friendlily face. Sonic added.
Mongooza took them to the main camp and lead them to a large tent. He motioned them to sit. Now what brings you all the way up this way?
We got a report of a container in the area. Sally said.
Mongooza thought for a bit. Ah yes, some of my men did come across a container when we climbed this mountain.
Your men havent opened it have they? Asked Sonic, trying to stay calm.
Not yet, darn thing seems to be locked with some kind of bio-optic lock. Mongooza answered.
Well, we have the codes that will open that container. Sonic said.
You do? questioned Mongooza.
Yes, but we need to take whatever is inside for immediate destruction. Sally answered.
Well, if you have the codes then you had better follow me. Mongooza told them getting up. As Mongooza lead them out of the tent, Sonic asked Mongooza a question. I was just curious as to why you are so far north. We were planning on putting a transmission booster on this mountain. It would help all the Freedom Fighter Factions communicate much easier. I heard about the incident with the Comms dish. I was going to send a communiqu to you but youve saved me the job. Mongooza finished, laughing out loud. As they approached the capsule Sally noticed the heavy presence of the guards. Mongooza nodded to the guard at the entrance. There with me . They have clearance. The guard stood aside to let them past. Surrounded by gun emplacements and soldiers was the container housing the first part of the de-robotizer parts. Sally and Sonic both stepped up to the capsule and noticed a scanner next to what seemed to be the door. As they stood before it, A small laser shot out and scanned Sally. User one approved. The capsule spoke. Then as soon as the laser finished scanning Sally, another shot out and scanned Sonic. User two approved. Capsule opening. With that there was a hiss and cold steam escaped from around the door. As it cleared, inside sat a piece of the de-robotizer. Sonic remembered what it looked like from the papers he had read back in the ruins of Robotniks tower. Carefully taking the piece out of the capsule, Sonic placed in his backpack. Well dispose of this immediately. Sonic told Mongooza as they were lead back to the main camp. Well, I guess we had better be going. Who knows what this thing is. The sooner its disposed of the better. Sonic said as he scooped Sally up in his arms. Yes, quite right. Mongooza said in reply. It was nice to meet you. Sally said. No princess, the pleasure was all mine. Ill send you a message later when we get this transformer up and working. Mongooza called after them. Well goodbye. Sally called back. See ya around. Sonic replied as he took off down the mountain path. Once they reached the bottom and started over the plains, Sally turned to Sonic. Thanks for not telling them.
Its alright Sal. Sonic replied.
But I feel bad lying to Mongooza like that.
Once he we tell him what was wrong with you then hell forgive us. Sonic replied as they crossed the plains back to Knothole.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Once they got back to the base, Sonic placed the piece of the de-robotizer in a strong room where they stored all the more important items and then returned to the planning room where he collapsed on to the sofa to rest. Sally sat at one of the desks and pulled down the leg of her boot. The lower half of her shin glistened in steel. She felt faint. Placing one hand on the desk to support herself she put the other on her forehead. She felt an arm on her back. Looking up she saw Sonic looking at her.
You alright? He asked.
I just felt a little faint. Sally replied.
Why dont you go for a lay down and try to get a little nap.
I think I might do that. Sally said getting up from the chair. As she made her way to her bedroom, Sally found that she was rather tired. Entering her bed chamber, she collapsed on the bed. Getting comfortable she gently drifted off to sleep. Upon waking, Sally checked on her leg. Now the metal had spread up to just below her knee. Now Sally felt a little bit panicky. She had to find Sonic. Making her way to the planning room, she found him examining the piece of the de-robotizer that they got from Mt Mobius. Sonic looked up from it to her. Oh, your awake. He said putting the piece to one side.
How long was I asleep? Sally asked.
A good few hours. Sonic replied.
I want you to look at something. Sally said pulling down the leg of her right boot. Sonic gasped at what he saw. This was getting serious. Sally pulled her boot back up.
So what are you doing with that?
Ive been trying to find something that will point us in the next direction. A message or something, but Ive found nothing. I dont know what kind of game Eggman is playing but dont like it. Hes using you and I dont like it. Sonic said through gritted teeth. Sally sat next to him and put an arm round him. Looking at the wall clock, Sonic sighed. Its getting late. I suppose we should get an early night so then we can figure out what to do tomorrow. He yawned. I suppose your right. Sally yawned in response. Goodnight Sal. Sonic bade her. Goodnight Blue. Sally said after him. As she walked back to her room, Sally wondered if what Sonic was doing was right. He might be playing into Eggmans hands. But then again what if Eggman wants to test Sonic to se if hes different from the sonic he fought in his dimension, Sally thought to herself. As she got changed and climbed into bed, she wanted Sonic to find the de-robotizer and transform her back. With doubts and questions filling her mind, she drifted into an uneasy sleep. Waking up next morning, Sally was dreading to what she might find on her leg. Bracing herself, she whipped back the duvet and found that the robotizer virus had spread up to her thigh. Nearly her whole leg was gleaming metal. Pulling on her boots and waistcoat, she made her way to the mess hall to get some breakfast. Inside, she found Sonic waiting for her. Hey, Morning Sonic broke off when her saw her leg. Oh Sally, are you o.k.? Sonic asked. Sally looked up at him without saying a word. Sonic came over and put his arms round her. Im turning into a monster. Sally whimpered through tears. Your not. Sonic told her. Your still the girl I know and love. Softly sobbing, Sally put her arms around Sonic. Come on, dry your eyes and lets have some breakfast. Sally wiped her eyes and sat next to Sonic as they ate their meals in silence. Afterwards, they made their way to the planning room. Sonic gad wanted to take another look at the de0-robotizer piece. Upon entering, they noticed a flashing red light. Another message. Sonic marched over and pressed the button. Once again, the face of Eggman lurched out of the display.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Well, it seems you have found the first piece. How did you find the robot I sent to guard it? Tricky? Well if you thought that piece was easy to get the next piece will be even harder. Youll find it at Azure lake in the far east. I would get moving if I were you. It looks like that virus is becoming quite a little monster.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp The message ended. Were off to Azure Lake. Sonic said. Wait a moment. Sally told Sonic. She quickly left the planning room, went to Rotors small workshop, grabbed the two rebreathers and made her way back to Sonic in the planning room. What do we need those for? Sonic asked. Eggman may have hidden the container under water. Sally told him. Good thinking Sal. Sonic said and scooped sally up in his arms. Next stop, Azure Lake.

As Sonic sped across the landscape Sally wondered why Eggman was letting them take these pieces and what was the robot he had left in charge of the first container. It seemed that the Northern FF had dealt with it. Soon Sonic arrived at the Azure Lake. It was the largest lake on Mobius so if Eggman had hidden the container it would most likely be under the lake. Sonic put Sally down and surveyed the lake and its mountainous backdrop. Now where would Eggman have hidden that canister? Sonic thought out loud. If I was Eggman, I wouldve hidden the container in the lake. Sally piped up. Thats a good idea Sal. Sonic said as he pulled a small receiver from his backpack. Whats that? Sally asked curiously. I had Rotor build this for me a while ago. It detects radio signals that were given off by Robotniks robots. So, if what Eggman says was true, then we should be able to find the canister. Sally and Sonic donned their rebreathers and stepped into the lake. As they dived under the surface, Sonic turned on the receiver. Sally found herself sinking. Sonic!! Sally yelled through the rebreather. Sonic looked down and, seeing sally struggling swam down to her. He grasped her hand but she continued to sink. Soon, she hit the lake bed. What happened? Sally asked. It must be that robotic leg of yours. Sonic replied. Sally looked down at her right leg. Dont worry about it you can still walk. Sonic said. Now lets find that piece. Checking the receiver, Sonic found that it pointed toward the centre of the lake. Follow me. Sonic said and swam on. Sally found it hard walking under water but with Sonic swimming next to her, she didnt feel burdened by the water at all. As they went on, the beeping of the receiver got louder and quicker. Pretty soon both of them were looking over a large under water canyon. The surface was not far above them as sunlight filtered its way down. In the centre of this large hole in the ground stood a large blue and white containment unit. But swimming around it was a large robotic fish that looked like a cross between a shark and an eel. Wait here Sal. Im going to make sushi out of that thing. Sonic said as he swum down to confront it. Be careful. Sally called after him. Sally watched from the lip of the hole as Sonic confronted the beast. On seeing Sonic, it lunged for him. Sonic was ready for this and pulled up sharply. The fish then circled round and came for him again. Sonic ducked low this time. Sally looked up and noticed a pile of boulders just off to her left. Sonic ducked to his left as the robot shark thing charged again. Sonic!!. Sally yelled. Sonic looked up and Sally pointed toward the boulders. Sonic looked over at the boulders and gave Sally a thumbs up and a wink. Got it. He called back and swam toward the ledge. The fish was now charging at Sonic. He waited until the last moment then sped up and along the back of the fish. The aquatic robot didnt have time to turn as the boulders hailed down on top of it. Sally cheered as Sonic swam back to her. Now to open that container. He said. Swimming behind Sally be put his hands under her arms and lifted her down into the hole. They stood before the large container. A laser shot out and scanned Sally. User one approved. Then a laser shot out and scanned Sonic. User two approved. Capsule opening. There was a hiss and the door opened admits a hail of air bubbles. Reaching in, Sonic withdrew the next piece of the de-robotizer and placed it in his backpack. So, how am I supposed to get out? Sally asked. Leave that to me. Sonic told her. Taking her by the hand, he lead her over to the massive piles of boulders. With Sonic lifting her up, sally was able to climb up the boulders back to top of the hole. Now lets get out of here. Sonic said. But how am I going to get out of the lake. Sally asked. Sonic thought for a while then he had an idea. Theres a slope close to where we entered the lake for the first time. You can get out there. Taking Sally by the hand and swimming along side her, Sonic lead here to the slope. As Sally walked out, she removed the rebreather from her mouth collapsing on the shore for a rest. Sonic came up beside her and sat down next to her. O.k. Well have a rest here then head for home. Sonic told her. Sally nodded in mute silence. Sonic looked down at her leg and saw that now her entire right leg was robotized. He glanced back up and looked at Sally as she lay on her back, getting her breath back. He felt the need to get her back to the base as quick as possible. He didnt know why, he just had too. As he stood up, Sally lazily turned her head toward him. Anything wrong? Sally asked. I thought we could get moving back to the base. Sonic said. Oh, o.k. sure. Sally replied. Sonic scooped up Sally and took off back to Knothole. It seemed to take a bit longer to get back to Knothole but sally put it down to the fact that she was tired. When they arrived back at Knothole, it was late afternoon again. Sonic was exhausted. As soon as they entered the planning room, Sonic collapsed on the broken sofa. Sally decided to check her leg. She was in for a nasty shock. The metal virus had spread up to her waist and was snaking its way across her waist. Sonic. Sally said with a fear in her voice that made Sonic sit up. He was on his feet and at her side in a heart beat. Sonic knelt down and inspected the gleaming metal leg as it poked out of Sallys boot. Sonic stood back up. Sally looked at him with tear stained eyes. Its bad isnt it? Sally asked. Sonic didnt know what to say. All he did was put his arms around her and hold her close. He didnt have the heart to say yes. Sally seemed to guess what his answer would be as she wrapped her arms around him and broke down. Sonic in turn blinked tears out of his eyes. He had to turn her back, but this virus was a lot quicker then he had thought. They already had two pieces, they had come half way. All he could do for now was to give Sally emotional support. Sally was upset emotionally as she realised there was nothing that she or Sonic could do to stop it, and if they did find some way to stop the virus, it would be too late. Seeing sally upset was heart wrenching for sonic as all he could do was sit by and watch, but he vowed to do everything to fix Sallys condition. Sonic lead her over to the sofa and sat down with Sally next to him. Leaning on his shoulder, Sally softly cried into Sonics chest, while he stroked her hair. Try to get some sleep. Sonic whispered to her. Sally looked up at him with tear stained eyes and nodded in compliance. Sonic settled down, gave sally a kiss on the fore head and closed his eyes. Sonic was the first to awaken. He glanced down Sallys body and noticed that the metal virus now covered her rump. Sonic gently woke Sally. Sally peered at him with red eyes. Sally got up and stretched. Sonic got up and stretched also. Sally glanced down to see how far the virus had spread. It had already covered her crutch and was now making its way down her right thigh. Some of it was creeping up her left side. It had spread rather rapidly. Sonic. Sally looked at Sonic with a worried look in her eyes. I know, I know. He said soothingly. Lets get breakfast and then see if theres any messages from Eggman. Thats all we can do for now. Sally couldnt argue. They made their way to the mess hall and got breakfast. Sonic got his usual plate of five chilli dogs but Sally only got a small rasher of bacon, one hash brown and one egg. Sitting next to him, Sonic looked down at her plate and then up at her. As Sally was slowly turning into a robot, she was loosing the need to eat. Sonic knew he had to do something. Once they finished their meals they went to the planning room to see if any messages had come. And sure enough, there was a flashing red light. Sonic pressed the button and the image of Eggman came through.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Well, I see you have survived my pet in Azure lake. You are quickly becoming a different Sonic to the one I fought. Your probably wondering where the next piece is. It lies in the desert to the south, in Desert Palace. Yes, the most treacherous ruins on Mobius. I assure you that this time you wont escape my friend this time. Oh, and just so you know, you can only get to island where the ruins are on at night. And at high tide only. Hmmm, If my calculations are right then your girl friend should be coming up to the halfway stage on robotization. Think you can save her in time. Now I know your mad and thats good. It makes the fight more exciting for me. Give my best regards to your girl friend. Oh ho ho ho.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp The message faded and blinked off. Sonic? Sally asked as she noticed Sonic hunch over and clench his fists. Sonic? Then as if something in him snapped, Sonic ran over to one of the computers and started to punch it hard, cursing loudly. Sonic stop. Sally called to him. Damn it, damn it all to hell!! Sonic yelled. Sonic stop please. Sally pleaded through tears. AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!! With a yell Sonic drove both fists into the computer. There was a dull thud as he hit it. Then he sank to his knees and began to weep. Sally ran over and held him in her arms crying tears of her own.
Im sorry Sal. Sonic wept.
Sorry for what? Sally asked.

No, its that damned Eggman. Hes taunting me. I.I feel so useless. I cant do anything to help you.
Now listen to me Sonic hedgehog. Eggman is only doing this to get to you. Dont let it get to you. You can do it. I believe in you and no matter what you say, I strongly believe that you will find all the parts of the robotizer. Just then a brain wave hit Sally. Didnt Eggman say that you could only get to the island at midnight at high tide?
Yeah, why do you ask?
I remembered that there are two high tides, one at midnight and one at midday. We just got to get the one at midday and we should be safe. At the sound of this Sonic perked up.
Your right. Youre a genius Sal. Sonic said hugging her. O.k. lets get that third piece. Getting to his feet, he scooped up Sally and took off out the door. Desert Palace her we come.

Hands Of Wrath: Chapter Six

&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Sonic tore across the plains as fast as he could. Sally curled up in his arms watched as the scenery whizzed by. How much longer have we got? Sonic asked. Sally took a small watch out of one of her inside pockets. Two more hours. She replied, replacing the watch. Sonic poured on the speed. Sweet dripping off his brow. Sally got out a handkerchief and mopped his brow. Thanks. Sonic said as Sally replaced the hanky. Soon the sea came into view, Were almost there. Sally called out. In no time at all, they reached the small bay side town of Big Blue. Sonic set Sally down. Now to find a sailor thatll take us to that island. Sonic said. Lets try the local public house. There are bound to be all types inside. Sally piped up. Good idea Sal. Sonic said. They hadnt noticed that many of the locals were staring at Sally rather oddly. Upon entering the tavern, the locals all stopped and stared. Making their way to the bar to inquire about someone to take them to the island, Sally noticed most of the patrons staring at her. She huddled up close to Sonic. Whats wrong? Sonic asked. Sally looked down. Sonic followed her gaze. Ah hell, I knew we forgot something. Sonic said Just stick close to me. Bartender, Bartender. Sonic called. A burly chap came over. Ya, whadda yous wont? He asked. We need a Sailor to take us to the island on which the Desert Palace ruins lie. Sonic replied. The bartender shifted his eyes from Sonic to Sally. Leaning over the bar he espied her metal legs and stomach. Wot appened to er? Caught in Botniks Robotizah?
Well, yeah I guess you could say that, and speaking of Robotnik, have you seen him as of late? Sonic asked.
Strange that ye be askin. Is spots im not more an a week aga. Carrin someit e was. Some type a container. Well, ever since en peoples bein scared ta go thar. The bartender replied.
Well, is there someone wholl take us there? Well pay. Sally said to the bartender.
Dunno if thar bein-
Mark, whos that your speaking to? came a voice from behind the bar.
Jus a customer. Needs a ride to that thar island. Mark replied.
From out a covered doorway came a women. She took one look at Sonic and Sally and sidled over to her husband. Why didnt you say it was Sonic and Sally? She tried to whisper to her husband.
Hows was I suppo ta know.
Mark, go clean some cups or something. Ill take care of this. Mark grunted and went off to serve the other patrons.
Now what do you two need in my humble tavern? She asked.
We need someone who can take us to the Desert Ruins. Do you know anyone? Sonic asked.
I know someone alright. The women said. Mark!
What yall be wantin now? Mark asked.
Take these here young uns to the Desert Ruins.
But Is got a bar to run. Mark complained.
None of your excuses Mark Bleinsten. Ill look after the bar while your gone. Mark grunted as he took his apron off and stepped out from behind the bar. Follas me. He said as he lead them to the dock. Youse is lucky ta git ta the island. It nearly igh tide. Sonic and Sally got into the boat. Mark pushed off and they were off headed for the island. They soon docked. Ill wait for youse ere. But I can only waits two hours fore the tide goes out agin. Sonic and Sally thanked him and made their way inland. They soon found the Desert Palace ruins. As they advanced, Sally looked in awe at all the ruins as they towered above them. Huge pillars and statues glared down as they passed. Theres the capsule. Sonic pointed out. Sally followed his finger and sure enough there it sat in an alcove in one of the ruins. As they advanced, they both forgot that maybe Eggman might have set a trap for them. Careful of quick sand. Sally pointed out. Thanks Sal. Sonic said and noticed a sucking pool just off to his right. They both continued toward the canister. They both stopped when they heard a slight grinding sound. Looking round they couldnt see anything, then they heard it again. Wheres that coming from? Sonic asked. Sonic, look. Sally pointed at one of the huge statues. It was coming free from its place in the wall. Sonic espied an old pillar close to the statue. Leave this to me. Sonic said. Waiting for the statue to start walking toward them, Sonic charged the statue and buzz sawed the pillar. It crashed on one of the statues arms but didnt stop it. As the stone skin fell away, Sally noticed the gleam of metal reflecting in the sun. Its not a statue, its one of Eggmans robots. Sally called to Sonic. Sonic had noticed the metal as well. He was trying to figure out how to beat it. It stood well over thirty metres tall. Sonic realised that he would have to improvise if he wanted to beat this thing. Sonic jumped back as the thing stomped down with its huge foot. Sonic barely had time to recover before the robot swiped a huge hand at him. Diving to the left, Sonic only just avoided the giant hand. Sonic, watch out. Theres quick sand just behind you.!! Sally yelled. At hearing this, that gave Sonic an idea. Sally watched as he ran in a wide circle and then stop dead. Hey over here Rocky. Sonic taunted. Sonic, get out of there! Sally yelled. But Sonic just stood there as the giant robot advanced. Sally looked on in horror as the bot bore down on Sonic. Then its foot went through the sand. Sonic had lured it into the quick sand patch. Try as it might, the giant robot couldnt pull itself out. Sonic walked back over to Sally, leaving the robot to sink into the sand. Lets get that piece and get out of her before any of his friends turn up. Sonic said picking Sally up and speeding to the capsule. Once again the lasers shot out and verified them as users and it opened. A whoosh of cold air hit them and in the capsule sat the third piece of the de-robotizer. O.k. We got what we came for. Time to juice. And with that he picked up sally and shot back to the boat. Mark took them back to Big Blue and bade them farewell. Then Sonic took off back to Knothole. It was fast approaching the late part of the afternoon when they got back. Sonic could hardly walk as he staggered in to the planning room and collapsed onto the sofa, half dead. Sally decided to check on her condition. The virus had spread down the top part of her lower right shin and it was slowly making its way up her right side and over her stomach. Sally couldnt believe that it had spread so fast. She sat down on a chair and started to think what would happen if Sonic couldnt stop it. Would Sonic be able to destroy her or would she destroy him? Sally shook her head. I shouldnt think like that. she thought to herself. Sonic? Are you alright? Sally asked getting up from her chair. Sonic turned his head Yeah, Im fine. Just a little bit worn out. Sally came over and sat next to him. My poor guy. She said smiling at him. This should make you feel better. And gave him a hug. Sonic smiled up at her. Thanks, Sal. Sonic said getting to his feet. Looking at the wall clock, Sonic noticed the time. Well, I guess we could have something to eat before we turn in. Sounds good to me. Sally replied getting up off the sofa. Making their way to the mess hall, Sonic casually glanced down at Sallys body. That virus was spreading at an alarming rate but they nearly had all the parts. Just hang in there Sal gal Sonic thought to himself. Sonic had five chilli dogs as usual, but Sally only had a few meat balls with mashed potatoes. Sonic devoured the chilli dogs like a hedgehog possessed, but Sally idly toyed with her food while eating it. Sonic pretended not to notice. Sonic hadnt eaten properly in three days, only having the occasional snack to keep him going. Well, I guess its time to get to bed now. Sonic yawned. I agree. Sally replied stretching as she did so. Good night Sonic Sally bade him. Good night Sal Sonic replied. Waking up the next morning, Sally was dreading what she would find. Bracing herself, she gently pulled the duvet back. What she saw shocked her. The virus seemed to have sped up. Yesterday it was just above her knee on her right lag, now it reached down to her ankle. It had climbed up the left side of her stomach to below her chest and was clawing across her stomach. Pulling on her boots and waistcoat, Sally made her way silently to planning room. Inside she found Sonic playing about with the three pieces of the robotizer that they had collected. Sonic looked up from what he was doing. He stared open mouthed at what stood before him. Getting up, he made his way over to Sally. Sal, Whats happened? Sonic asked The virus, its sped up.
Im becoming a monster. Sally said through her tears.
No your not. You are still you. Sonic comforted her.
I am a monster. You know it as well as me. Sally sniffed turning her back on Sonic
Well, if you are a monster then would I do this? And in saying that, Sonic turned Sally round to face him then he put his arms around her and held her close. And if youre a monster would I do this? Sonic then placed hi lips on hers. Slowly, Sally raised her arms and put them round him. Sonic still believed that she wasnt a monster and he just proved that. He still loved her if not more. As their lips parted, Sally looked at him. Your no monster. Youre my big, brave girl. Sally smiled at him. Thank you Sonic. Sally sobbed Thank you. Sally wondered how could she have given up just like that. She had to be strong like Sonic. Resting her head on his chest, she wanted to hear his heart beat. She felt Sonic gently stroke her hair. The combination of Sonic stroking her hair and the thudding of Sonics heart help to relax her. You o.k. now? He asked. I..I think so. Sally stammered through her tears. Lets get some breakfast, thatll make you feel better. With his arm still around her, Sonic lead sally to the Mess hall. Sonic pulled out seven chilli dogs, but Sally only had a single piece of bacon. As Sonic was about to tuck into his food Sally sat next to him with the piece of bacon. He glanced at her plate and then up at her. Sallys eyes met his. Saying nothing he just put one arm round her. Im changing. Sally sobbed. I wont let that happen. We are so close to the last piece I can smell it. Youll be back to your old self again, I promise. Sonic said, patting her hand. Have a bite of my chilli dog? He said offering one to her. Sally took it and had a small bite. Thank you. She answered after she swallowed the mouthful. Sonic smiled and gave her a quick cuddle. Carry on, dont stop on my account. Sally said. Sonic turned back to continue with his breakfast. Sally folded her arms and looked down at the piece of bacon. Picking up a fork, she speared it ate it. It sat in her stomach like a lead weight. Sonic finished his and took her into the planning room. As they entered, they noticed that once again the flashing red light. Sonic walked over and pressed the button. As usual, Eggmans face came up. But this time he looked as though he was going to murder something. His face had gone a light shade of crimson and his moustache was juddering.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp So, you think your so clever with the last piece? Well, I have news for you, you blue speed rat, the last piece will not be so easy to get. I wont tell you where it is as you can probably guess. Ill be ready for you and when I get my hands on you, Ill make you bleed and goes for that rat of a girl you have as well. Sally was shocked. She felt Sonics arms move around her. Heed this message you cocky blue weasel and you too you useless rat of a princess. I WILL be ready for you.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp With that the message ended. Sally blinked tears out of her eyes. Then she heard a soft growl. She look ed up at Sonic. His teeth were gritted, his brow furrowed and he stared at the blank space where Eggmans message had played with fury in his eyes. Sally felt afraid and tried to step back. Sonic felt the tug at his arms and snapped back to his usual self as he looked at Sally as she shied away. Im sorry. Sonic apologised. Sally calmed down a little as he pulled her in close. Im sorry if I scared you. Sonic said as he held Sally close. Sally huddled against his shoulder. This might be the last time she would ever be held by him. Well get that last piece and Ill make Eggman pay for what he did to you. Sonic told her as he stroked her hair. Stay with me. Sally said. For just a bit longer. Sonic smiled down at her. O.k. for a little longer. He replied.

Hands Of Wrath: Chapter Seven

The ruins were the last place that Sally wanted to see, but she knew as well as Sonic that this was where the last piece was. If they could get it then Sally would be saved. Sonic came zooming back. All safe Sal. Sonic reported. Picking her up he tore back toward the ruins, making a beeline for Robotniks tower. Placing Sally down they made their way to the stairs. The rubble had been cleared and Sonic was immediately suspicious. Stay back Sal. He said as Sally took refuge behind a pile of rubble. Sonic picked up a long piece of piping and pushed the door open. Sally heard a huge explosion and jumped up fearing that some thing terrible and happened to Sonic. But he just stood there, not a scratch on him. How did you know that the door was booby trapped? Sally asked. 2The rubble had all been cleared away and it just looked too inviting. He answered. Now lets get that de-robotizer piece. As they stepped through the blasted door, Sonic stopped again. Let me go first. Sonic said. Sally stood back as Sonic shot down the stairs accompanied by a series of explosions. Soon he was back by Sallys side Limpet mines. he answered. They made their way down the stairs in relative safety, Sally noticing the black burn marks on the wall where the mines were. Pushing open the door at the bottom, Sonic found that the room had been cleaned up since their last visit. Also that a door in the far corner probably lead further into the passages under the ruins. Flanking the door were two heavily armed and armoured bots. They didnt look like any knid that Sonic had seen. They both had standard Swat bot rifles but they were more ornate in their armour. Aiming their weapons as Soon as they entered, Sonic pushed sally out of the way as they both fired. Sally landed on the floor with a light clang. Sonic had jumped and landed on the closest bots head. As it flailed around, the other one took aim. Sonic jumped again as the bots head exploded in circuit boards and piping. Landing on the other bots head, Sonic super spun dashed on its head, ripping it neatly in half. I thought they would be a lot tougher. Sonic said as he walked back to help Sally to her feet. Going through the door, Sonic and Sally found themselves in the huge maze of corridors. All that remained of Robotniks once huge tower. If I was Eggman, where would I store that de-robotizer piece? Sonic thought out loud. It would be somewhere close to Eggman and heavily defended. Sally pointed out. Then lets check it out. Sonic said scooping up Sally in his arms. As Sonic sped down the corridor, automated defences tried to stop them, but they were no match for Sonics speed. As they got to a corner, Sonic put Sally down, peered round and spotted three sentries. This looks to be the right place. Butt-nik used to store all hes good stuff here. Sonic whispered to Sally as he took a power ring out of his backpack. Sally peered round at the sentries. Its too dangerous. Sally said. Sonic took her hands. Ill be fine. He reassured her, giving her a little kiss. With that he turned round the corner and slowly walked toward the bots. Hey, whats in that room? Sonic called out cheerfully. All the bots locked onto him but Sonic was ready. He jumped as three separate laser shots hit the ground where he was. As sally watched Sonic brought the ring in front of him and unleashed its power. Curling into a whizzing ball, he laid waste to all three sentries. Eggman must get some better toys, these ones break too easily. He said as Sally rounded the corner. Standing before the door, it hissed open. Inside was a pedestal with a glass dome atop it, but whatever was inside was missing. Looking for this Sonic? called a voice. Looking up at a catwalk, Sonic espied Eggman holding the last piece of the de-robotizer.
Eggman. Sonic growled as the message came flooding back to him.
And I see you have brought your girl friend as well. Eggman leered.
Your finished Eggman. Hand over the piece or I will take it from you.
Oh, I wish I could but Im afraid that I have to be somewhere else. With that Eggman pressed a button on the catwalk railing and two new bots came marching out. They were a lot bigger then the previous bot. Enjoy your new friends Sonic. Im going to enjoy watching them rip you to shreds. Sonic put one arm in front of Sally and pushed her back. The two bots got ready as they squared of against him. Sonic made the first move but the bots spotted this and jumped either side of him. Sonic was stunned. The bots he fought never did that before. Sally watched as every move Sonic made the bots avoided with perfect precision. Then came the turning point in the fight. Sonic had leapt at the bots once again but one jumped off to the left while the other side stepped. Sonic lashed out a fist but it was grabbed by the bot. While he tried to fight it off he heard the other coming up, behind him so he kicked out with his foot. That too was grabbed. As he tried to free his appendages, his free arm and leg were grabbed by the bots and he was trapped. Now, I want you to pull that annoying Sonic in half, but do it.Slowly. Eggman gloated. Slowly the bots began to pull. Sonic gritted his teeth, fighting to free himself. But it was too much and he cried out. Stop it! Leave him alone! Sally yelled. But Eggman ignored her. Sally was wondering how she could free Sonic when she remembered something. Quickly running outside, she picked up a laser rifle. Aiming at one of the bots, sally let off one shot. The recoil knocked her back slightly, but the bot had a hole in it. What!? Shouted Eggman as he saw the first robot stop dead. Sally re-aimed and blasted the other one. Sonic fell to the floor. Dropping the laser rifle, Sally ran over to him. You may have stopped my Doom Bots but youll never get this piece. Eggman yelled as he ran for a lift. Sally ran back for the rifle and started to shoot at Eggman. The laser blasts hit behind Eggman as he made his way to lift. Sally placed an shot ahead of Eggman, but she only succeeded in shattering the glass of the lift shaft. Better luck next time. Eggman called as he entered the lift and started moving up. A power ring. Quick. Sonic yelled. Sally reached into Sonics backpack and withdrew a power ring. It glowed as Sonic threw it at the retreating Eggman. Eggman covered his face as the ring flew toward him. The ring hit the hand holding the de-robotizer piece. NOOOOO. THE PIECE!!! Eggman yelled as the piece fell toward earth. Sonic sped over and neatly caught it. Eggman disappeared through the ceiling, cursing loudly. Time to juice. Sonic said picking up Sally. As they left the room a siren went off. Eggman mustve activated an alarm. Sonic poured on the speed as he headed for the only way to the surface. Several times they came face-to-face with groups of bots responding to the alarm but they managed to reach the robotizer room with no trouble. Quickly ascending the stairs, Sonic shot out into the ruins and didnt stop until he reached the Knothole base. Quickly putting Sally in the planning room, Sonic sat down and slotted the pieces together. Sally was amazed at the simple construction. It was probably designed like that so it can be carried and assembled quickly in the field. Sally was shaking with anticipation. Sonic was shaking too. Soon the ray was completed. Checking one of the papers that Sonic had taken from the robotizer room four days ago, he set it up on the table. Now stand in front of the ray. Sonic told her. Sally did as she was told. Now hold still. Sonic said as he pushed a switch. A purple beam shot out of the ray, engulfing Sally. Sonic watched as her metal body faded and disappeared. When the beam shut off, Sally was back to her old self again. Sonic slowly walked toward her, tears forming. Sally was checking her legs and stomach, not believing that the virus was gone. She looked up at Sonic as he came toward her. She couldnt help herself as she ran toward him and threw her arms around him, crying tears of joy. Sonic wrapped his arms around her as they held each other close. You did it. You did it. Sally said joyfully to him. Sonic smiled through his tears and hugged her once again. Thank you Sonic. Sally wept. He stroked her hair and held her close. Im glad your back, Sal Sonic managed to whimper. I love you so much Sonic. You mean more to me then all of Mobius. And I will be with you forever. Sally cried And I will be with you forever. Until the end of time. Sonic replied as he cried on Sallys shoulder.

Hands of Wrath: Chapter Eight

Sonic wiped the tears from Sallys eyes. He had her back. He never thought he would be able to hold her again. Sally just looked into the eyes of her hero, the hedgehog who had risked all for her. Thanks for helping me out with those Doom bots. They wouldve made me an extra foot taller, the painful way. Sonic joked. Sally let out a little chuckle. They glanced over at the ray, parked on the planning table. We could use that thing to de-robotize my mum and dad, as well as my Uncle Chuck. Sonic said through his tears. We can finally put an end to Robotniks tyranny and save all those poor people. Sally added. Im so glad that your alright. Sonic told her. And Im glad that Im here with you instead one of Eggmans robots. Sally finished. They hugged each other for a little bit longer before they parted with Sally saying, You know what, Im hungry. Sonic smiled. I thought I would never hear you say that. Cmon, lets get something to eat.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Sally finished her meal and sat back, contented. Sonic patted his belly. That was a good meal, the best Ive had for ages. Getting up from the table, he picked up the dishes and placed them in a dishwasher in the kitchen. Sonic had no love for Overlanders but he found their technology useful. Now for business. Sally said getting up. We have to stop Eggman before he uses that beam for who knows what.
I hear you, Sal I hear you. Sonic replied as he exited the kitchen. They both made their way to the planning room. The ray still sat on the table with documentation surrounding it.
Now about the ray. Sally said . We can now de-robotize the inhabitants but the beam doesnt seem powerful enough, we need to de-robotize all the inhabitants at once, if we do it one at a time then there is a chance that we could be captured or worse.
We need to focus the beam somehow. Sonic said. Sally thought but couldnt find answer.
How about we use the chaos emeralds? Sonic asked.
What? Sally asked as she turned round to face him, her train of thought broken.
Sonic stood there holding a sheet of paper. We could use the emeralds to focus the beam. Robotnik had a focuser that he was planning to build but he never got round to it as he never got close to any of the chaos emeralds.
Its a bit of a long shot. Sally said.
Its the only thing we have, and I know that finding the emeralds is remote but we have got to try. If only we had an emerald, it would make it easier to find them. At the sound of this, Sally remembered something. Wait here. She told Sonic and left the planning room. As sally tore down the corridor, she couldnt believe that she had forgotten all about it. As she entered her bedroom she made her way to her bedside table. Rooting around, she found the emerald that she had taken from Robotniks generator room. Before leaving, she quickly kissed Sonics picture. Running back into the planning room, Sally held the emerald behind her back. What are you smiling about Sal, and why did you leave all of a sudden? Sonic asked.
Well, if I show you what I got then it will answer both your questions. Sally replied. Sonic had a quizzical look about him. Still smiling, Sally brought the emerald out from behind her back. Sonic was aghast. Where did you get that? Sonic asked. Dont you remember. You took it from Robotniks power generator. Sonic scratched his head, then his ears flicked and the realization crossed his face. Sonics ears always flicked when he remembered something. Now I remember. Good thinking Sal. Sally blushed. Sonic smiled at her making her blush even more. Sonic dont stare at me like that, your making me blush. Sally told him, averting her eyes. Sonic walked up to her and, placing one hand on her shoulder, gently put his hand on her chin and turned her head to face him while at the same time slightly lifting her head up to look her direct in the eyes. You know your cute when your like that. Sally blushed even more. Sonic just smiled and hugged her. Sally reached up as though in a dream and put her arms around Sonic. The emerald clattered to the floor. You always come up with the goods Sal. Sonic spoke from Sallys shoulder. But only when you suggest them. Sally added from Sonics side. Sonic slowly stroked Sallys hair with his fingertips. She smiled as she felt his arms gently pull her closer. After a while Sally spoke. Shall we go emerald hunting? Sonic parted from her and picked up the emerald from its resting place on the floor. Yeah, lets go Sal. Sonic said as he headed for the door with Sally right beside him.

Hands Of Wrath: Chapter Nine

The sun gently warmed their bodies as they stepped outside. Sonic held the emerald in his outstretched hand, waiting for it to glow. As he moved it from side to side the emerald remained dull. Maybe we should try up at Lookout Point. Sally suggested. Sonic nodded in reply. But as Sonic turned around, the emerald let off a dull pulsating glow. Look. Sally gasped. Sonic raised his head to look to the distance. What lies over there? Sonic asked Sally re-entered the base, grabbed a map from the planning room and returned to Sonics side. According to this, some old Overlander ruins are over there. Sally told him. Then lets get over there and find our emerald. Sonic said. Folding up the map and placing it in her inside pocket, Sonic scooped up Sally and started off toward the ruins. They werent far and Sonic reached them in a matter of minutes. Now where would this emerald be? Sally questioned as Sonic placed her on the floor. The ruins were scattered all over the place. A myriad of pillars and arches stood either alone or in groups. A large shimmering lake dominated the whole scene. Within, Sally and Sonic could make out ruins below its surface. I hope that the emerald isnt down there. Sonic muttered to Sally. Pulling the emerald out of Sonics backpack, she pointed it at the lake. It remained dull. As she scanned the emerald over the ruins, it suddenly got bright. Wheres it pointing to? asked Sonic. Sally raised her head and saw a large building, listing to the left and with wild ivy growing all over it. Right there. Sally said pointing. As they entering the old ruin, Sally was amazed at how the interior was in such good shape. The room in which they were standing went all the way to the top of the building. Ahead lay a corridor, in which was a faint red light. Sally pointed the emerald to the light. Both grew in intensity. Thats the chaos emerald. Sally said and started toward the corridor. Whoa, hold on Sal. Ive read about old Overlander ruins. Theyre said to be filled with traps. Ill go first. Sonic stepped up to the entrance to the corridor. Be careful. Sally called. Sonic gave her a wink and a cheeky smile. Then he tore down the corridor. Sally watched as two spike balls and three sets of spikes were activated. Sonic came back. All traps deactivated. He said with a flourish. Sally smiled at him. Stepping into the passage, Sally was helped through the spikes and under the balls by Sonic as he lead the way to the emerald chamber. As Sally stepped into the high domed chamber, she gasped at the red emerald in all its radiant brilliance. Sonic had already alighted the stairs. Sally snapped out of her trance and joined him. They both stood before the emerald bathed in its soft red glow. Sonic reached up but then stopped. I got the last one, this is your one Sal. Sonic offered. Sally thanked him and stepped up to the podium. Adrenaline ran through her every vein as she reached up for the emerald. As she grabbed it, the emerald let off a quick flash and then its glow died. Sally swore she felt a small surge of power course through her body. You alright Sal? Sonic asked. I.I felt some type of power from this thing. Sally gasped. That happened when I picked the last one up. Apparently, they hold a tremendous power. But thats just Overlander rubbish. Sonic said smiling. As they made their way down the stairs Sally was half expecting a trap to go off. They made their way back through the passage without mishap. I thought another trap was going to go off. Said Sally. Overlanders cant build decent traps to save their lives. Sonic replied. Dont be so ready to cast the Overlanders aside. They are not only taller but more stronger then us as well. Also most of the technology that we have came from the Overlanders. I guess your right. We have to thank the Overlanders for all the cool stuff they left behind. Sonic said as they stepped out in to the light. Now to find the next emerald. Sonic said holding up the yellow emerald he took from his backpack. It remained dim. But the red one lit up with a pale glow.
Whys that one lighting up while this one isnt? Sonic asked.
I dont know. Sally answered.
Well, we can figure it out once we return to base. Sonic told her as he placed both emeralds in his backpack and scooping up Sally. Im glad to be leaving this Aquatic Ruin. Sally said. Me too. Sonic added as he took off back to Knothole.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Once they got back, Sally headed for the planning room for a sit down. She hadnt been sitting down long when Sonic rushed in carrying the red emerald that was now giving of a more brighter glow. I think I know why one emerald is responding while the other isnt. Sonic said excitedly. Sonic startled Sally so much she almost fell of the sofa. Why, what is it? Asked Sally. Alright, I got the emeralds out to put them into safe storage and I found the red emerald glowing brightly. Then it occurred to me. The emeralds all lead to each other. That way no-one can find all the emeralds with one emerald. Sonic spluttered. They were then interrupted by a bleep as a message was being received. Getting up from the sofa, Sally pressed a button and the holographic head of Mongooza popped up. Hello Princess, I trust all is well. Mongooza spoke.
Yes, everything is fine here. Sally replied.
We received a large energy surge in the old ruins area to the north. Did you see or hear anything?
No, nothing. Sally replied.
Well, were sending one of our men down. Now I know youll say its no problem but he needs to stop off for rest and he can introduce himself to you when he gets there. Mongooza out. And with that he was gone. Sally was left speechless. Why are they sending someone here? Sonic asked. Almost as in answer to his question there was a loud buzz. Walking over to a monitor, Sally saw a rough cut Southerner waiting by the front door. Sally buzzed him in. And then left to go meet him. Sonic followed. In the main entry hall stood the Southerner. A tall thin male with brown boots, green cargo pants and a black singlet. He wore a pair of dark sunglasses and a baseball cap with Go Team emblazoned on the front.
Hi He greeted.
Hello. Sally replied nodding.
Yo. Sonic added.
So this is the beautiful Sally and the heroic Sonic. Their visitor said, trying to hide his admiration.
Yes thats us. And who might you be? Sally asked.

And what do you do in the Southern Freedom Fighters? Sally asked.
Im in the black ops. Spying, espionage, that type of thing.
Then why are you dressed like a tourist? Sonic asked.
Dressed like this, I can sneak around and not raise suspicion. Im investigating the power surge that occurred a small while ago. May I see a map so then I can see what the exact location is?
Why of course. Follow me. Sally ushered. Chaos followed her with Sonic bringing up the rear. Hows the transformer going? Sonic asked. Oh, fine. We are having problems with the power source. We are looking for a replacement power source until we can get one up and running. Chaos informed them. As they entered the planning room, Chaos stopped and stared. The chaos emeralds. He gasped. When did you get them? Sally and Sonic were silent. With one of these then our power problem will be solved. Sally stepped up to him. Im afraid that we cant let anyone borrow them. We are still studying them. Sonic said. Well, I believe that we could make an exchange.
What kind of exchange? Asked Sonic.
Sally was aghast, but before she could say anything, Chaos smiled.
I have a key card that opens Eggmans lab. I managed to filch it from a Doombot officer earlier on.
Im afraid that-
Your right. Its not enough. said Chaos, cutting off Sally mid-sentence. I also have a file here containing not only all the names of the people that have been robotized but also an optical disk that contains all the codes to shut down Eggmans entire security system. Chaos said, producing a file and a square disk. Please excuse me. Sally said, taking Sonic aside. We cant let him take one of the emeralds. Hoe do we know well get it back? Sally asked Sonic.
Well, the stuff hes offering will be pretty useful. Especially the key card to Eggmans lab. Also the file on whos been robotized. Dont you worry about a thing Sal. Ill negotiate the deal, trust me. Sonic told her. Sally was against the idea but Sonic had never steered her wrong. We agree to the deal, but this is only temporary mind you. Once you get your power up and running, Ill come to collect our emerald and to return your information. So do we have a deal? Sonic asked. Chaos thought about it for a while. Deal. He replied, shaking Sonics hand. Sally just stood back and watched as Sonic gave the yellow emerald to Chaos. Well, I guess that my trip to the ruins has been cut short. I need to get this back to base. Thanks a lot. I hope that the info is of use. Sonic walked with Chaos to the main door. When Sonic returned to the planning room, he found Sally with a scowl on her face and clenched fists. Im not angry at you Sonic. Sally said. Its that Southerner. Why do they always do assume that when they suggest something its alright with everyone else. I know that we should be friendly with each other but sometimes they push their luck. Sonic walked up to Sallys side.
Dont worry Sal. I have a plan. Sally calmed down.

Well, once they get the power online then Ill get the emerald back. But heres the clever bit. Well copy all the stuff that they have given us. Well have to give back the original so they dont suspect anything.
Sonic, thats brilliant and very sneaky. Sally said smiling slyly. Sonic smiled as well. Well, we might as well get some sleep. Were going to find an emerald tomorrow. He said.

Sally woke from a beautiful dream. As she stretched she found herself invigorated, she didnt know why. As she got out of bed, she just happened to look at Sonics picture on her bedside table. She sighed as she looked at it. She pulled on her boots and headed for the on-suite bathroom. When she came out, she felt as though she was in a dream. Picking up her waistcoat and sliding it on, she left for the planning room. When she entered Sally espied a note on the table. It was written in a hurry and read thusly;
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Hey Sal, By the time you read this I may be gone. Ive just popped out to Rotors workshop. Im hoping to find a duplicator there that will help us copy this key card. Ive left some breakfast for you in the oven. Hope to see you when I get back. Love Sonic.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Sally made her way to the kitchen and sure enough in the oven was a plate of food. It looked as if Sonic had cooked it for her. Sitting down in the mess hall, Sally started to eat her meal. She had just finished when Sonic stuck his head through the door. There you are. He said. Sally smiled and the happiness she experienced when she got up came flooding back. She slowly got up from the table. Did you find the duplicator? She asked. Yeah sure did. I tell you though. Rotor really needs to clean up that workshop of his. Its almost impossible to find anything. As Sonic was speaking he turned to lean on the door frame. He didnt notice Sally slowly walk up to him. I was lucky that I knew where he kept that thing or else I.. Sonic trailed off as he turned to face Sally and found her standing in front of him. Sal? Sonic asked. Without a word, sally put her arms around him and hugged Sonic close. She didnt know why, all she wanted was to hug him. Whats all this? questioned a very confused Sonic. Sally said nothing as she snuggled up next to him. I love you too. Sonic told her. Those words were magic to her. She parted from Sonic and looked him in the eyes. I dont know why, but I just had to hug you. Sally told him. Sonic raised a hand and placed it on one side of her face. Cmon, lets get that emerald and these documents copied. Sonic said. He lead the way to the planning room, with Sally under his left arm. Papers were spread out on the desk along with a machine. Sally noted Rotors duplicator. Right, now to start with. The files can easily copied but for that I need you. I can operate the duplicator. Now we also need to make backup copies just in case of. Sonic looked at Sally who was gazing back at him. Sonic smiled back and gave her a quick kiss. Sally felt overcome and drifted backwards. If Sonic had not grabbed her then she wouldve fallen to the floor. Are you alright? Sonic asked. Sally opened her eyes and gazed back. Now youre here with me. Sally said and raised her arms around him. Sonic realised that Sally was enamoured with him. He knew it would pass. She went like this before the incident a year ago. Sally Stood up and walked to the computer. You want a copy of the files and backups as well? She asked. Got it in one Sal. Sonic replied walking over to the duplicator. Setting the key card in the appropriate slot and placing a blank under it, Sonic started the duplication. Hows it going with you Sal? Sonic asked walking over to her. This should be ready soon Blue. Sally answered. She pressed a few buttons and the computer whirred to life. O.k. Its copying the files. Sally said. The duplication will take a bit of time so I thought we could search for another emerald while it makes the key card. Is their any way to tell the computer to make backups while were gone?
Leave it to me Blue. Sally swivelled back round in the chair and entered the relevant command. Now we can find the emerald. Sally said getting out of her chair.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Holding the emerald out Sonic slowly rotated trying to find the glow. Sally had a map and was ready to give a direction. Then the emerald glowed a light, pulsing red light. Wheres that? Sonic asked. Sally consulted the map. Somewhere tin the hills in the north west. She reported. Sonic tucked the emerald into his backpack and scooped up Sally and headed toward the hills that were located just north west of the base. It was a quick trip. The hills towered above them and somewhere up there lay an emerald. Sonic espied an old worn path as he approached the hills. Once, long before Robotnik came, these hills were used to ply trade from the Knothole kingdom to the city of Rubals. Robotnik had destroyed the city and robotized its citizens long ago as his first act of overlord. AS they ascended the path Sally looked out over the land and was amazed at what she saw. The whole land lay before them. She could see Mt Mobius, the ruined city of Robotropilis as well as the Aquatic ruins of the Overlanders. Soon they reached the top. Sonic placed Sally on the ground and plucked the emerald out of his backpack. Its glow had intensified now. O.k. Now to find that emerald. Sonic spoke under his breath. As he slowly rotated, Sally noticed that its glow intensified near an old cave. That cave must be where the emerald is hidden. Sally pointed out. The cave turned out to be quite shallow, but the emerald lit up the cave like the sun. Pointing it to a pile of rocks near the back the emerald radiated a soft red light while the rocks glowed an unearthly green colour. Putting the emerald to one side, both Sonic and Sally started to dig. Soon they unearthed the green emerald. Picking it up, Sonic secreted it in his backpack with the other emerald. Three down, four to go. Sonic said turning to Sally. Lets check the location when we get back to base. Sally nodded in reply.
We can also see if the duplicator is finished. Sally finished. Lets jet, Sal. Scooping Sally up in his arms, Sonic took off out of the cave. That was easy. Sonic commented as he went down the path away from the Hilltops. Dont celebrate just because that one was easy. Itll get more harder later on. Warned Sally. As they raced down the path, neither of them noticed the flying machine that was speeding toward the cave.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Once they got back to base, Sonic once again put the emerald into safe storage. Sally retreated to her room for a lie down. Once she felt better, Sally went to the planning room, where she found Sonic reading a book entitled The Attack Of The Mutant Zombie Killer Penguins. Sonic looked up from his trashy horror novel and noticed Sally standing in the doorway. Sally, glad to see you. The computer just finished making the backup files and is copying the disk. Sonic reported laying his book to one side.
How about the duplicator? Sally asked.
Just finished. Seems the security desk will take a while thou.
Well, it seems that everything is almost ready. Sally said.
Yup, well we might as well get some sleep. It says on the computer it will need the next forty eight hours to make the back up file and a duplicate disk.
Sally was ready to agree. Sonic stood up yawning. Taking Sally by the arm he lead her to her bedroom. Well, here we are. Sleep tight Sal. Sonic said. You too, Sonic. Sally replied. But before he turned to leave, Sally put her arms around him. You know I love you. Sally said from Sonics shoulder. And I love you as well until the end of time. Sonic replied, putting his arms around her. Will you always be with me? Sally asked Always and forever. Sonic told her hugging her close. Always and forever.

Sally slowly opened her eyes. She wasnt used to getting up without Nicoles alarm. Rubbing the sleep from her eyes, she climbed out of bed, smiling to herself as she caught sight of Sonics picture on the bedside table. Pulling on her blue boots, Sally found herself wondering what would happen today. Something always seemed to happen when Sonic was around. It was so different now that the other Freedom Fighters werent here. She had a lot more time to spent with him. Sally wondered if she should tell Sonic that she was now no longer a Princess, after her father stripped her of her duties. This had been lodged in Sallys mind for a while now. She knew she had to tell him, sooner or later she had to tell him. She grasped at her chest at her indecisiveness. She got up and went to the planning room. Inside she found Sonic holding the key card up to the light. He looked over as she arrived. Hey Sal. No waistcoat? Sonic asked. Sally looked down. She had been so lost in her thoughts that she had forgotten it. Hey I like you like that. Makes a nice change. He said walking over to her and hugging her.
How did you sleep? He asked.
I slept rather well thanks. Sally replied.
Whats up Sal? Sonic asked.
Nothings up. Sally quickly dismissed.
Sally Acorn, I know somethings wrong. Youve forgotten your waistcoat which you dont do unless something is on your mind and you are usually so much more cheery. So cmon, tell old Sonic whats wrong?
Sally gazed into his eyes. Sally knew that she had to tell him. Ive been meaning to tell this to you for a while. She paused as she built up the courage. Sonic gave her a gentle hug and she felt a bit more confident. In Sonics arms she felt safe. You know when I told you how my father aborted the baby? Sonic nodded grimly. Well, thats not all. Sonic looked worried. What did he do?
He.. Sally paused as the tears welled up and the pain came back. Sonic saw this and hugged her close. Take it slow. He said. Sally took a deep breath and told him. Daddy stripped me of my duties as a princess. Im only allowed to lead the Freedom fighters now. Sally wept into Sonics shoulder. Please dont do anything. I know daddy is just waiting for you. If he even catches a glimpse of you then hell have all the guards out looking for you and I dont want to lose you. I almost lost you once. Please dont do anything reckless. I beg you. Looking down at Sallys pleading face, Sonic knew that Sally needed him here. He would get Max some other time. Right now Sally needed him. He made the mistake of going after Robotnik when Sally needed him and he wasnt going to make the same mistake twice.
Im not going anywhere. Im staying right here with you. No emerald hunting today. Today is going to be about you and me. Sonic told her.
But if Eggman gets his hands on the emeralds then hell have a powerful weapon in his hands. Sally replied.
No, today is all about us. I dont care if we miss one emerald or not. Your more important to me then any hunk of glass. Sonic told her. This shocked Sally.
Sonic. Sally said through her tears.
Sssssshhhhhhhh. Im going to stay here with you. Sonic comforted her as he lay on the sofa with Sally on top of him. I love you Sonic. Sally wept as she raised her head from Sonics chest. Now, dont cry. Just relax and Ill take care of everything. He replied as he stroked her hair. Sally replaced her head on his chest. She and Sonic never spent the day together before, not even before the break up. Sally snuggled up next to Sonic, feeling and hearing his soft heartbeat. The tears lightly rolled out of her eyes and landed on Sonics chest. Sally felt Sonic gently caress her upper back. She felt so relaxed. He also held her so close, as if he was afraid to let go of her. Sally felt that the matter of her father relieving her of her royal duties was a far memory, that she had nothing to fear. For the first time I her life, she felt wanted, loved and needed. Ever since her mother went missing their had been a void in her life. She saw her father only occasionally but the incident that occurred at the palace had only widened the rift between them. Sonic had played a large part in her life. When they broke up a year ago, Sally still remembered how she used to cry herself to sleep, how she used to curse herself for slapping him. She hated herself. But now they were here again. Sonic really did care for her. He was giving up an emerald for a day with her. Sally felt like the gap in her life had been filled at last. She just wanted this moment to last forever. She wanted Sonic by her side forever and it looked like it would be. Thats my girl. Try to get some sleep. I want this moment to last, for us both. Sally heard Sonic utter. Sally snuggled up next to him and closed her eyes. She had found true love at last.

When Sally woke up she found it the sun had set and it was starting to get dark. She rubbed her eyes. She could remember bits and pieces of the day, but it was mainly about.Sally looked round. Sonic was nowhere. Sally got up, fear and panic started to set in. Sonic? Sally called out. There was no response. Sally was worried. Sonic? She called out again. Sally turned to go for the door when she noticed a figure in the darkened hall. Sally took a step back. The figure advanced. When it stepped into the light, she found out it was Sonic, wearing her waist coat. Sonic you startled me. Sally told him. Sorry Sal. What do you think? Suits me? Sonic asked giving a twirl. Sally had to admit that it fitted him perfectly. Not a bad fit. Sally said smiling. Sliding one shoulder off, Sonic struck a pose. Sally gave a small giggle. Taking off her waistcoat he passed it to her. Sally slid it on. Whats the time? Sally asked. Time to check the pockets. Sonic told her. Curious at this response sally checked the pockets and found something. It was a small box, covered in crushed velvet. Sally took it out of her pocket and examined it looking for an opening. She found it in the shape of a simple clasp. Undoing the clasp, she opened the box and found a small chain inside. That can be used as an anklet or a bracelet. Check the main body. Sally did as she was told and found a small inscription;

&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp It was so touching. This was the first time ever that sally had jewellery. She looked back up at Sonic and was met with his comforting smile. Sally put her arms around him and held him close. Thank you. I love it. Sally said through her tears. Im glad you like it. Sonic replied. They parted. Looking at the clock, Sonic turned back to Sally. Its getting late. We need to be up early tomorrow to make up for today. Sonic said. Sally agreed and he lead her back to her room. Biding each other a good night, Sally placed the box on her bed side table. As she was about to climb into bed, sally glanced up at the box and then at Sonic picture. Sally bit her lower lip. Getting up and leaving her room. Sally made her way to see Sonic. Knocking on his door, she heard muffled footsteps and then the clunk of a key in the lock and Sonics face peered around the door. Sally? What wrong. Sonic asked. Sally felt a little bit shy. I was wondering if I Sally felt awkward. If IIcould spent the night with you? Sally asked. She expected to be turned away but instead Sonic just smiled and opened his door wide. She found his room spacious and tidy. A small writing desk stood in one corner, his bed propped against the far wall. A red circular carpet stood in the centre of the room. Sally felt very awkward as she entered. Sonic closed the door behind her and put his arms around her. Im glad that you decided to come. I was going to ask you the same thing. Sonic told her. As they both settled down, Sally felt Sonics arms around her chest and Sonic snuggling up against her back. Im so glad youre here. Sonic whispered into Sallys ear. Im glad just to be with you. Sally replied. They bide each other a good night and drifted off into the opulent world of sleep. Waking up to a buzzy alarm, Sally thought that it had all been a dream when she caught sight of Sonic yawning and stretching. He turned to smile at her and gave her a quick good morning kiss. As Sonic got up, Sally noticed all the pictures of her on his bedside table. She roughly counted five in total. She decided to get up as well. Walking with Sonic to the mess hall, Sally wondered if taking yesterday out was a good idea. It wouldve given Eggman time to locate the emeralds. You worried that Eggman would find the emeralds before us? Sonic asked, guessing what was on Sallys mind. I guess thats one thing on my mind. Sally replied. Well dont let it bother you because we are going to go and swipe those emeralds before Eggman can get his slimy hands on them. Sonic reassured her. After having breakfast, they made their way to the planning room, with Sonic breaking off to get the green emerald out of storage. Entering the planning room, Sally sighed as the memories of yesterday came flooding back. Sonic re-entered with the green emerald. O.k. now lets see were our next emerald is located. He said holding it aloft. When it started to increase in glow and pulsate, Sally checked the map. Directly south and according to the map that was fairly lush area. Sally had heard the rumours that an emerald was buried in that hills and that gave the area its name Emerald hill. It wasnt definite but it was a good place to start. O.k. then. Next stop Emerald hill. Sonic said as he scooped up Sally and took off. The Emerald hill area was comprised of a large lake and surrounding hills. Once during the war with the Overlanders, they had tried to establish base in the area. Well here we are. Emerald hill. Sonic announced as he placed Sally down. Getting the emerald out of Sonics back pack Sally pointed it in various directions until it shone. They followed the path to a small palm tree. When held at the roots, the emerald started to glow. Looks like we have to dig. Sally told Sonic. Well, lets get busy. Sonic said taking his gloves off. They didnt t have to dig long before a pale blue light shone up at them. Picking up the emerald, Sally once again got the shiver of power run through her arms. Now lets get these back to base Sally told Sonic. Yes, back to MY base. Came a voice. Looking behind them, Sonic and Sally observed the figure of Eggman in his egg-o-matic flying machine. You may have beaten me to the emerald in the hilltops but Im going to relieve you of that emerald and the others when I find them. Sally stepped forward to challenge him. So, the rat has escaped my robo virus I see. Eggman noticed.
You will never shake or resolve to find the other emeralds and you will never own them. Sally yelled at him.
Tough words coming from a little girl. Why dont you go home and leave grown up affairs alone. Eggman taunted her. Sonic then stepped in front of Sally to protect her.
If you know whats good for you, youll shut up here and now. Or do I need to make a little red smear out of you Sonic growled.
Now, now. No need to get upset, I brought a friend for you to play with. At this Eggman clicked his fingers and a robot came stomping out from behind two trees. Meet Ardina. Ardina is the latest and greatest of my new Swat bot forces. Ardina flexed its metal hands, restless to get on with some meaningless destruction. Sonic sized Ardina up. Ardina did the same. Stay back Sal. Sonic said as he put out a hand. Sally stepped back. Eggman smiled. Ardina attack!!!

Hands Of Wrath: Chapter Thirteen

Ardina shot out a large metal fist toward Sonic, who nimbly dodged to one side. The other fist shot out. This also missed as Sonic nipped between the large bots legs. Now it was facing Sally. She gasped as the robot rose up and turned to face Sonic. Swiping at him yet again, Sonic nipped back through his legs again. Sonic, look out! Sally shouted as the bot raised one leg. Diving out the way as the foot thudded down where Sonic had been standing only moments before. As Sally watched on, she heard a light click behind her. Turning, she found that Eggman had crept up on her and held his pistol to her head. If I cant get the emerald, youll have to do. Eggman spoke menacingly. Thinking quickly, Sally threw her arms at Eggman, knocking his aim off. Then she pushed him over before she started down the hill toward a tree she saw as cover. She dodged round a boulder, when a bullet ricocheted off. Sonic, help!!! Sally yelled as she dove behind the boulder. Sally? Sonic, on hearing Sallys cry for help turned his attention to where he saw her cowering behind a rock. Ardina took the opportunity and grabbed Sonics hand, hoisting him off his feet. Sally was about to get up when she heard that all too familiar click as she felt the barrel of Dr Eggmans pistol push against her head. Stand up and put your hands behind your head. Eggman ordered. Sally, frightened and nearly in tears did as she was told. Sonic, I believe I have something of yours. Sonic glanced over his shoulder. Sally! He yelled when he saw Eggman holding her at gun point. What are you going to do to her?! Sonic yelled. Oh, nothing. And if you want it to stay that way, I suggest a trade. Your emerald for her life.
Sonic, dont do it. Sally yelled.
If you really care for her then youll give me that emerald.
Sonic dont listen to him hes- KACOOOW. Sallys words were cut short as Eggman fired a shot past her ear making her jump. Sally burst into tears.
Now if we dont have any more interruptions, one emerald for her life. If not, the next shot wont miss. Sally looked at Sonic with a pleading look. She didnt want him to do it. O.k. Eggman. You win. Tell your tin can man to let me go and Ill get your emerald. A sly smile spread over Eggmans face. Im glad you see it my way. Now, no funny business or else the princess gets it. He said, grabbing Sallys arm. Sally jumped as she felt the vice like grip of Eggman hand on her forearm. Ardina placed Sonic on the floor as he rummaged in his backpack and withdrew the red emerald. Place the emerald down right there and back off. Eggman ordered. Sonic did as he was told. Marching over he roughly dragged Sally with him. Pushing her forward he grabbed the emerald, still training his gun on them both. Sonic caught Sally as she fell forward and held her close to him. Well, I got what I want and so did you. Come Ardina, we have more emeralds to find. Laughing out loud, Eggman was picked up by Ardina in one hand and the egg-o-matic in the other they flew off. Sonic watched them leave. Looking down at Sally, he saw her grasping the straps of his backpack firmly. The poor girl had been scared half to death. Gently picking her up, he sped back to base. When they got back he carried her too the planning room. Sally looked up for the first time since they had left Emerald hill. Sonic, Where are we? She asked through her tears.
Where back home. Sonic answered sitting on the sofa.
You didnt have to trade that emerald for me. You shouldnt have.
I did because if I didnt, he wouldve killed you. And I did it because I love you Sally Acorn. I love you so much that I dont know how Ill survive if I didnt. I couldnt live with myself if I didnt. You are worth more to me then any emerald.
Sonic?
Now dont you worry, Ill get that emerald back. If Eggman thinks he can get away with this then he is mistaken.
Sally looked up at him with tearstained eyes. Am I really worth more then the emeralds to you? Sally asked.
You are and always will be. Sonic answered. Now try to relax, you had nasty scare.
As long as I can stay in your arms I will. Sally told him. Sonic smiled at her.
O.k. You can stay in my arms for as long as you want. Sally snuggled up to Sonics chest and once again she heard the rhythmic thumping of his heart. Sonic leaned back and gently held Sally to him as he stroked her hair. Soon, Sally forgot about all what had happened only a few moments before as she drifted off to sleep, safe in Sonics arms.

Hands Of Wrath: Chapter Fourteen

When Sally awoke, she found the base in darkness save for the small light over the planning table which threw a dim light over the whole room. Looking up at Sonic she found him sound asleep. Smiling to herself, she snuggled up against his chest again. If the other Freedom Fighters were here they wouldnt get the chance to do any of the things that they did in the last few days. When she next woke up, it was morning. Looking up she saw Sonic gazing back down at her. How did you sleep? He asked. I slept fine with you here. Sally replied smiling back. Sonic gave her a quick hug before Sally got to her feet closely followed by Sonic. What do you want for breakfast? Sonic asked stretching. Bacon, eggs, sausages and some fried bread please. Sally answered. While Sonic left to cook up her breakfast, Sally wandered over to the map table. She wasnt looking at anything in particular as her eyes scanned the map. A piece of paper sat on the edge of the table. Curious, she picked it up and read it. It seemed to be orders from Eggman to his Swat bots;
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp First priority: Find and acquire the chaos emeralds.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Second priority: Eliminate Sonic The Hedgehog.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Top priority: Kidnap Princess Sally Acorn.
The orders ended. Why was she so important? Placing the piece of paper back where se had found it, Sally went in search of Sonic. Maybe he could shed some light on this affair. She found Sonic in the kitchen, placing some fried bread onto a plate. Picking up the plate and turning to the door, Sonic was startled to see Sally. Sal, Are you O.k.? Sonic asked sensing that something was wrong.
I just found some of Eggmans orders to his bots. Why am I so important to him? Sally asked.
Because if he gets his hands on you, then hes got me. Sonic told her. But dont worry, Eggmans not going to get his hands on you. Heres your breakfast. Eat up, weve got a busy day ahead of us. Sally took her breakfast into the Mess hall and ate it in silence. Sonic sat next to her and ate his usual breakfast of five chilli dogs. After the plates had been put in the dishwasher, Sally followed Sonic back to the planning room. We need to get that emerald back from Eggman. Sally said to him. We need to come up with a plan. Dont you worry Sal, I have a plan. Sally snapped to attention. Really? What is it? She asked. Sonic just smiled that sly smile of his. First, I need to pay the Southern Freedom Fighters a little visit. I shouldnt be too long. Leading Sally into the planning room, he motioned for her to sit on the sofa. Now I wont be gone long. Just sit tight and Ill be back. He said, picking up her hand and kissing the back of it. Then he was gone. Sally had never been at the base on her own before. It felt rather empty and foreboding with no-one inside it. Sally shuffled on the sofa wondering what to do. Sally decided that she would find the next emerald location while Sonic was gone. Getting to her feet, Sally exited the planning room to storage. It felt as though the corridor was closing in on her as she finally reached the sturdy door. Heaving it open she saw the emerald sitting at the far end of the room. Entering, she walked over to the high security compartment and keyed in the access code 0001. With a hiss, the lid slid up and the emerald was hers. Taking it, she went back to the planning room. She had never noticed just how eerie the base was. Feeling a little apprehensive, she held the emerald out in front of her and stared seeing which direction would give off a glow. Soon she had it. Faint, but it point to the north east. Scanning the map, all that was in that area was a lot of snow and ice. Now to return the emerald back to its proper place. As Sally left the storeroom, she thought she saw a shadow moving at the end of the corridor. Pretending that she never saw it, she carried on down the corridor. As she proceeded back to the planning room, she had to resist looking over her shoulder. Getting near to the planning room door, Sally looked back. There was nothing there. Uttering a small laugh she turned back. A loud thud sent her scurrying for the door. Sally had hidden under the map table, scared that something was in the base with her. She had never been on her own like this before. Then a sound she thought she would never hear. It was the main door opening and closing shut again. Sally, Im back. Sonic called. Sally crawled out from under the map table and ran to the lobby area to where Sonic stood. Sally ran into him, wrapping her arms around him. Hey Sal, Whats wrong? Sonic asked, looking down as Sally quivered. I..I dont like being left on my own. That was the scariest thing in my whole life. Sonic felt guilty. Sorry about that Sal. I wont leave you on your own again. He stroked her hair hoping to calm her down. So what do you leave to do? Sally asked as she was lead back to the planning room, with Sonics arm around her. Well, first off I went to the southern FF base to get our emerald back.
And did you? asked Sally.
Yep, sure did. And now that we have got one emerald back, Its time for us to get our other one back.
You mean we have to.
Im afraid so Sal. We re going to pay Dr Eggman a little visit. Sonic said as they entered the planning room.
Ill check to see where we can get in. Sally said.
While your doing that, Ill put our little friend into storage along with his friends. Sonic added as he left the planning room. Scanning the map of the ruins of Robotropilis, Sally found a maintenance hatch that lead to the main generator room. As Sally was studying the lay out of the room, Sonic came back.
Found anything? He asked.
Yes, an old maintenance that leads to the generator room.
Is there a main computer interface there? Sally checked.
It seems so but why do you ask? Sally questioned.
Well, seeing as how weve got the codes to shut down security we can be in and out without any one noticing. Sonic said. Well when shall we go? Sally asked. Right now. Sonic replied, scooping Sally up and racing out the door. The hatch was easy to locate amidst the rubble using the Automap that Sonic had brought. It was only a wheel turn lock that opened easily. Turning the wheel and opening the door, they both stared down in to the darkness below lit only occasionally by a fluorescent light in the wall. Ill go first and check to make sure its safe. Sonic told Sally as he climbed inside. Sonic wait. Sally said as Sonics head disappeared down the hole. What is it Sal? Sonic asked, popping back up. Sally gave him a quick kiss. For luck. She said. Sonic smiled and disappeared back down the hatch again. Sally waited by the hatch for his return. After what seemed like an eternity, he reappeared. All clear. He said as Sally climbed in to the hatch, closing the top after her. Climbing down a small ladder, Sally felt metal under her feet as she stepped off the ladder and onto the floor. A hatch was open at the other end. At which a small ladder had been extended to the floor. As Sally got off the ladder onto the stone floor, Sally asked Sonic a question. Why were you gone so long? I was busy uploading the code to the main computer. Security is off all over the base. Do you know where the emerald is? Sally asked. Sure do, Ill take you to it. Sonic replied picking Sally up in his arms and speeding to the room in which the emerald was in. The going was easy. All the security cameras were off and the security lasers were non-existent. Here we are. Sonic said, putting Sally down. Normally the door would be locked via an access card but Sally and Sonic just pushed the door open. In the centre of the room stood the emerald. Sally stood by the door as look out while Sonic walked over to the emerald. Plucking it off its stand, he returned to Sally. Too easy, piece of cake. Sonic said as he dropped the emerald into his backpack. How did you know where it was? Sally asked. When I uploaded the virus, it brought up the main map. I was able to see the emerald from that. He told her as he scooped her up in his arms. Making their way back to the generator room, Sally couldnt believe how easy that was. Suddenly a thought came to her mind. Best check to make sure its not a fake. She told Sonic. Good idea Sal. Wouldve hated to get all this way and find out weve been had. Holding the emerald up to a fluorescent light, Sonic checked. How do you know if its real or not/ Asked Sally. Well, theres a little light inside. Come here and you can see it. Sally walked up to Sonics place as he held the emerald for her. Inside she saw a strange moving object. Well, we had best get moving before ole Egg breath sends a maintenance droid here. Sally agreed. She went up the hatch first while Sonic reset security. Opening the hatch above her, sally gulped in the sweet outside air. Sonic followed suit. Locking the hatch behind them. Now lets get out of here before were discovered. Sonic told her. Scooping Say up in his arms, he took off with lightening speed back to Knothole base. Once they got back to base, Sonic placed the emerald into storage along with the other three. Sally had collapsed onto the sofa. So I guess were going after the next emerald. Sally said as Sonic entered the room. We will once we find out where it is. Sonic said. I think its somewhere in the Ice Cap area. Sally replied. Then lets get that emerald before Eggman. Sonic said. Sally stood up ready to be swept of her feet. But instead of scooping her up, Sonic put his arms on her shoulders. Before we go, Youll need to wrap up warm. Sonic told her. Sally lightly placed her hands on Sonics arms. You always come up with the goods Sal. Sonic said. And with that he kissed her.

Hands Of Wrath: Chapter Fifteen

Sally woke up and stretched. She remembered that they were going to the Ice Cap area today. Sally shivered at the idea of the cold, and pulled up the duvet a little. Climbing out of bed and pulling on her boots and waist coat she was about to leave when she cast a glance over to the box on the top of her dresser. Sally walked back over to it and put on the bracelet. It fitted perfectly. She couldnt wait to show Sonic. Leaving her bedroom and making her way to the mess hall, she found an enticing aroma wafting from the direction of the kitchen. Upon entering she found Sonic, spooning out some soup into a bowl. He turned his head when he heard the door go. Morning Sal. Sonic greeted her. Morning Sonic. Sally replied. Do you notice anything different? She asked.
Youve washed your hair?
Nope.
Youve got nail polish on?
Nope. Sally said once again.
I have no idea. Sonic said admitting defeat. Sally held out her wrist.
Your wearing your bracelet. Sonic said.
Do you think it fits alright?
It fits perfectly.
So what are you doing here? Sally asked.
Im cooking us up a big breakfast to keep up our strength when we go to the Ice Cap area. Sonic told her. Ive just finished yours. Go into the mess hall and Ill join you shortly.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Sally placed her knife and fork on the plate. That had to be the best meal she had ever eaten. Sonic was a good cook, no denying the fact. Sonic stood up and took both his plate as well as Sallys. Go find something warm to wear. Well be leaving for Ice Cap soon. The sooner we find the emerald before Egg Butt the better. Sally nodded in response, got up and went back to her room. Pulling open the antique armoire in her room, Sally selected a long, red winter coat, a scarf and a pair of red gloves. Sally took off her waist coat and put on the long coat, gloves and scarf. Leaving her room, she found Sonic outside, waiting for her. You ready? Sonic asked. Is that all your wearing? Sally asked seeing the lone scarf around Sonics neck. This is all Ill need. Ill be running a lot so Im going to be warm at any rate. So, are you ready? Sonic asked. Im all ready if you are. She replied. O.k. Off to the Ice Cap we go then. He replied scooping Sally up and charging out the base.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp It wasnt long before they reached the outer limits of the Ice Cap area. The first they knew was of a chill wind that bit. Placing Sally down, Sonic pulled out the emerald and held it out. The emerald let off a dull green glow. It slowly pulsated when Sonic held it toward some ice fields. There it is. Sonic said. Were not far from it. Scooping Sally up, he changed direction and headed for the ice fields. Soon the wind and snow blew around them. Stopping momentarily, Sonic once again placed Sally down and got out the emerald. Holding it toward a cave, it started to glow brighter and pulsate quicker. Sonic smiled as he placed the emerald away. Taking Sallys hand he lead her inside the cave. Inside, they found a cavern filled with the clearest, biggest and purest ice crystals they had seen. This is beautiful. Sally exhaled. I hear you Sal, I hear you. Sonic chimed in. They were in awe of the crystals before them. Well, I guess we should find that emerald. Sally said. Once again, Sonic took off his backpack and fished out the emerald. Holding it to one particular ice pillar, he found it glowed intensely. Peering inside, Sally could see the Purple emerald shining in the ice pillar. Ive found it, but its trapped in this ice pillar. Sally said. Leave it to me. Sonic said. Stepping to one side, Sally watched as Sonic stepped up to the pillar. Taking his backpack off, Sonic reached in and took out a blowtorch. Lighting it, he applied it to the pillar. As the ice slowly melted Sally looked around at the other ice crystals as they reflected the light across and around the cave. A wind blew through the cave and she shivered, pulling the coat collar closer around her neck. As the light bounced and reflected around the cave Sally felt a twinge of magic as she watched. Returning her gaze back to Sonic and the ice pillar, she found that Sonic had almost thawed out the emerald. Turning off the torch, Sonic grabbed a hold of the emerald and gave it a slight tug. It came loose in a shower of ice. We have the fifth emerald now, only two more to go. Sonic said tucking the emerald into his backpack. Lets go. Taking Sallys hand they both walked out side. A light snow had started to fall. Turning to face Sally, Sonic smiled. Sally had been admiring the white landscape when she noticed that Sonic was looking at her. Without a word, he placed his hands on her shoulders. I guess now would be a good time to tell you about your bracelet. You see Sal, its very special. Because no matter where you are, Ill find you. Sally looked a little puzzled. Ill be able to find you with this. Sonic said pulling the scarf open, showing Sally a pendent around his neck. If we ever get separated, all we have to do is think of each other and the pendent or bracelet will glow. The brighter the glow the closer we are to each other. And I will always find you no matter where you may be. Sally slowly put one arm lightly around Sonic neck and the other on his waist. A small tear formed in the corner of Sallys eye. Sonic pulled Sally in close as the wind whipped the snow around them. Sally shivered slightly as Sonic brushed the snow off her hair. Resting his cheek on her head, he slowly rocked back and forth as he slowly stroked her hair. Sally just rest her head on Sonics shoulder as the wind whistled around them both. Sonic felt warm to snuggle up against. The whole scene was perfect. Sally couldnt help but cry. Sonic would always be there for her. And now he would find her as well. Sonic scooped her up as he took off back to the base, with Sally nestled quietly against his breast.

Upon reaching the base, Sonic immediately placed the emerald into storage along with the other four. Sally took off her coat, scarf and gloves, replacing them back in the armoire. Sally slid her waist coat back on and shivered as the cold material touched her. Glancing down at the bracelet, Sally wondered if what Sonic said was true. Just think of each other and the Bracelet will glow. Sally repeated Sonics words out loud. So she placed Sonic in her memory, and then she was aware of a gently glowing green light. Looking down, she was surprised to see her bracelet lit up. The glow got brighter when she heard her door opened. Turning, she saw Sonic framed in the door way. The green glow was rapidly fading from her wrist as it was from Sonics pendent. I see your trying it out. Sonic said. No I was just curious about it. Sally replied. Sonic smiled at Sallys response as he noticed her blush slightly. What is it? Sally asked. Nothing, nothing at all. Sonic replied as he closed the door behind him. Sally replaced her bracelet in its case and made her way to the planning room. As she came to the door, she saw Sonic sitting with his back to the door. He had something in his hands but Sally couldnt tell what it was from here. Curiosity got the best of her as she crept into the room. She had only got half way across when Sonic looked round and spotted her. Quick as a flash, he sprung up, shoved a piece of paper into the drawer of the desk he was sitting at, locked it and put the key into the top half of his left sneaker. Hi Sal. Sonic greeted her. What was that piece of paper? Sally asked. Thats nothing important. Sonic replied. Sally was very suspicious, but she knew better then to press questions. So, wheres the next emerald? Sally asked. I checked it when I put the emerald into storage. It pointed to the south east. I know that that area is famous for its giant mushrooms. Sonic told her. Mushroom Hill? Who wouldve thought that an emerald was hidden there.
Lots of places to hide something. Like an emerald. Sonic said. Best get a good nights sleep. We have the trickiest trek ahead of us tomorrow. Now its easy to get lost in Mushroom hill, So bring your bracelet. Ill bring my pendent, so that way if we get separated, we can find each other. Sonic told her. Sally smiled at him. You always have good ideas. Sally said as she stepped up and put her arms lightly around Sonic.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Sally woke up to Sonic gently shaking her shoulder. She slowly stirred. Hello sleepy. Sonic greeted. What time is it? Sally asked sleepily. Checking the watch on his right wrist Sonic replied 8.30. Sally let out a little groan as she plonked back on her pillow. Sonic knew that Sally was tired and as much as he wanted to let her sleep, they had to get the emerald. I made you breakfast, its not much but it will save you getting up. Sonic said. Sally sat up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. Sonic took a tray off the her bed side table and placed it on her lap. Sally looked at the tray and then at Sonic as if in a dream. Sonic had only done this once before. She was slightly curious as to why he would bring her breakfast in bed. Casting those suspicions out of her mind she began to tuck into the breakfast that Sonic had laid out. Sonic seemed to have a knack for cooking it seemed as everything on the plate was succulent and delicious. As she ate Sonic sat on the bed. Im curious as to one thing, What was on that bit of paper you were fiddling with yesterday. Sally asked. Sonic looked stunned. Just a little project that Im working on. Sonic answered as his left ear flicked. Come on, tell me whats on it. Sally said, between mouthfuls. Well, its something very special. Sonic said giving way. Sally was surprised that Sonic gave in so easily. Its a little song that I thought of while I was waiting for you to arrive. When we get back from Mushroom Hill, Ill sing it to you. I look forward to it. Sally said as she finished off her breakfast. Sonic took the empty plate and made for the door. Could you come back after youve taken them to the kitchen. Sally asked as she remembered her nasty experience of being alone. Sonic nodded and left. Sally got up and pulled on her boots and waist coat before getting ready in the en-suite bathroom. When she came out, she found Sonic sitting on the foot of a perfectly made bed. Thanks for that. Sally said as Sonic got up. Hey, no problem Sal. Sonic replied, But why did you ask me to come back? Sonic asked. Im not used to being on my own and the incident that happened a few days ago was frightening to say the least. Sally said as she shuddered at the thought. Sonic let out a half hearted smile as he got up and put an arm around her. Walking her out of her room and to the planning room, Sonic could see that what she said had some truth. She had gotten closer when they were in the dim hallway. A light had blown and Sonic had made a mental note to fix it. Sally had been born and bred in a highly social environment, And thus she couldnt take being alone. Not only that, she was emotionally insecure as she always came running to Sonic for support. When they entered the planning room, Sally calmed down a little. Picking up his back pack from where it lay on the planning table and placing it on his back, he walked back over to Sally. You ready to go? He asked. I guess so. Sally said. It doesnt look like it, youve forgotten your bracelet. Sonic pointed out. Wouldnt be a minute. Sally said as she left the planning room. The sight of the dark hallway ahead made her slow to a stop. Sonic came out. Sally looked at him. Without a word, he placed an arm round her and marched forth into the darkness. Sally felt embarrassed they Sonic had to hold her hand, but the experience she had suffered only a couple of days ago was still fresh in her memory. Sonic waited out side while she went in and put on her bracelet. O.k. I m ready now. Sally said coming back out. Scooping her up in his arms, Sonic set off for Mushroom Hill. It didnt take them long and when they arrived, the dew was still moist on the caps of the mushrooms. Placing Sally on her feet Sonic proceeded to take out the emerald. At once a dim glow was emitted from said jewel. It must be deep in the forest. Sally said. Well the only way that we are going to find it, is if we split up. Now dont worry, you have your bracelet and I have my pendent so Ill always know where you are. Sonic told her reassuringly. Sally set off in one direction while Sonic set off in another. They werent too far apart as Sally could see the faint glow off the emerald. Suddenly it grew in intensity. Its around here somewhere. You go that way and Ill go this way. Sonic told her. Sally picked her way through the giant stalks, with her bracelet glowing on her wrist. As she walked along, she looked to one side and noticed a pile of rocks. It was odd as they seemed to have been stacked by a person not by nature as they were in a perfect pile. Pulling aside the rocks, Sally thought she heard a rustle behind her. Looking over her shoulder, she listened intently but heard nothing except the light whistle of the wind passing through the giant stalks and the twittering of the birds in the nearby trees. Sally dismissed it and went back to pulling the rock pile apart. As she did, she got the feeling that someone was watching her. The bracelet on her wrist glowed a bright green, so Sally thought it might just be Sonic and continued to dig. Soon she found a stone that was different from all the others in that it shone with a light blue hue. As Sally picked it up she heard a faint whoosh as if something passed over her. Now she was certain that there was something watching her. As she scanned the caps of the mushrooms, she saw a dark shape flit between them. She took off at a run. Sonic! Sally yelled, clutching the chaos emerald tightly. Sonic help!! Sally yelled again. The shadow was fast approaching but she didnt notice it until she turned round to see where it had gone. Then it had her. Soon she saw the ground leave her as the net she was ensnared in left the ground, just as Sonic entered the clearing where she had been only a few moments ago. As she was lifted off she could see Sonic getting smaller with each second. A small tear escaped her eye and plummeted earthward. Below, Sonic watched as the robot flew off with his best friend and love, Sally. A drop of water hit him lightly on his forehead and ran down his left cheek. Slowly he clenched his fists as an uncontrollable rage filled his heart and soul. Up above Sally sat in the net, unable to do anything As she sat hunched over, she heard from somewhere far below a bellowing roar. The bracelet on her wrist had changed from green to a dim yellow but she didnt notice this. Sonic. Sally uttered as she watched the Mushroom Hills disappear into the distance.

It's been a long time coming but heres the next chapter of my fanfic. I should concentrate on this fic as it is almost finished so enjoy people.

Hands Of Wrath:Chapter Seventeen

&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Sally sat in a dimly lit cell with her knees up to her chest on the hard metal bed. Water dripped somewhere and a chill wind blew through. The only light came in through the grilled window. Sally sniffed and wiped her eyes for the umpteenth time. She would never forget what she went through. First she was dumped in a heap in front of three Swat bots who roughly marched her inside. Then, she had the indignity of a full strip search before being thrown into this cell she was in now. She had lost everything. The chaos emerald, a ring from her father that he had given her on her 15th birthday, a lucky stone she had had when she was a child and a small poem from her mother that she held very dear as well as a few other things. All she to cling onto was that Sonic would rescue her. She couldnt tell if Sonic was coming for her as they had taken bracelet as well. She suddenly remembered something. Sitting on the bed she reached into the inside of her waist coat to a small rip on the hem of her waist coat. She prayed that they hadnt found it. Her fingers touched a piece of card. It was still there. Pulling out two photos Sally lent against the wall again and gazed at them. One of Sonic and another that was of them both taken a year ago. Sally smiled as she remembered the happy carefree days they spent together. A shadow passed over the grill. Sally looked up as a guard passed by. She turned back to the photos. She past one hand over Sonics face as a small tear fell from her eye. She heard footsteps approach and stuffed the photos back in their secret pocket. The footsteps drew closer and three figures appeared out side the cell. There was a bleep as a key card was swiped through the card reader outside. The door opened and into the cell stepped the porcine form of Eggman.
Now my princess, I have a few questions and I need them answered. Eggman spoke as he walked up to Sally.
Ill say nothing Eggman. She replied.
Now we can do this the easy way or the hard way.
And that being?
I ask the questions and you answer them, thats the easy way, or I ask the questions and you answer them after I beat the answer out of you.. Eggman said.
Im not scared of you. Sally said standing up to front out Eggman. Eggman lashed out a hand and caught Sallys wrist.
Now for the first question, Where is Knothole? Sally stayed silent as she squirmed to get out of Eggmans grip. I suggest you answer. Eggman told Sally as he tightened his grip on her wrist.
Idont know what your.talking about. Sally replied.
Wrong answer. Eggman said as he tightened his grip and yanked Sally into the air, the toes of her boots just touching the floor. Wheres Knothole? Eggman asked once again. Sally raised her free hand to claw at Eggmans hand. Suddenly, she found her other hand yanked painfully to her side. Wheres Knothole? Eggman asked once again, tightening his grip on Sallys wrist and tugging down on her other arm. Sally gritted her teeth as Eggmans vice like grip crushed her wrist. Eggman threw back onto the bed. Well, youll talk once you spend a round in my new and improved torture chamber. Laughing, Eggman left the cell as the door was locked again. Sally rubbed her wrist and shoulder. Now she was scared. Eggman would stick to his word and he would get the answers he wanted. As Sally sat there with tears forming in her eyes, she wondered where Sonic was. She felt like breaking down. She felt so alone and afraid as she hugged her knees back up to her chest. The dark of the cell seemed to close in around her. All that she had her mind on was Sonic and the threat of torture. She shivered at the thought. She slid a hand into a pocket hoping to find something but her fingers grasped nothing. Withdrawing her hand again and wrapping it around her knees she wondered if she should escape or whoever to wait for Sonic. She got up to checkout here cell. A quick look round revealed no possible weakness. A small drain set in the middle of a gently sloped floor, a bed that was hard and uncomfortable and a single stainless steel toilet. Apart from that, the cell was empty. A shadow passed in front of the grill again as the Swatbot plodded down toward the other end of the prison block. Sally shuddered as it went past. Walking up to the grill she peered out, squinting in the light. From what she could see, she was in a large cavernous room. And it seemed she was in one of the upper cells. From somewhere in the distance, she heard a scream of pain. She backed away from the grill, shaking all over. She only hoped she wasnt next as she retreated back to the bed, hugging her knees to her chest. She had only been sitting there for a short while when she was aware of multiple footsteps. They stopped outside her cell and the door slid open. In walked a Swatbot, his red visor glowing in the half light of the cell. Sally cowered against the wall. The Swatbot slowly entered and made its way over to her, reaching out a metal hand toward her. Sally cowered in a corner as the bot drew closer. Without warning there was an almighty clatter. Sally looked out past the Swatbot toward the door. Framed in the doorway stood Sonic, a monkey wrench clasped in his fist, with a look of utter rage on his face. The wrench was covered in a light blue of the coolant that all the Swatbots used. Leave her alone. Sonic growled at the Swatbot. Raising its finger, Sonic sprinted across the void and slammed the wrench into the Swatbots visor piece. The bot stumbled about, firing wildly. Shoulder slamming the bot against a wall, Sonic proceeded to batter it round the head with the heavy wrench, cursing all the while. After he had finished the bot lay still, the foot still twitched. Stepping away from the destroyed bot, Sonic turn to Sally and quickly made his way over to her. Dropping the wrench, he put his arms around her and hugged her close, crying tears of joy. Sally looped her arms under the straps of his back pack and cried as well. Suddenly a siren went off. Sonic looked around as a red light filled the cell,. Time to juice. He said as he picked up Sally and raced out of the cell. Sally noticed that all the doors in the iron gate were open, mostly blown open. Sonic zipped across the bridge that lead to the iron gate prison, hoverbots close behind. They fired on them but the bolts never came close. Sonic didnt stop until they reached the safety of the Knothole base. Entering the planning room he placed Sally on the Sofa and then collapsed into on of the chairs, exhausted. Getting up Sally walked over to Sonic who was resting his head on his arms. Thank you, forrescuing me. Sally uttered. Sonic looked up and sat back. No problem Sal. He replied standing back up and giving Sally a hug. How did you get into the prison? Sally asked from Sonics chest. Well, after you were taken, I just knew I had to get you back. So I checked out the map of the electronics layout and found the main electronics box which should be in 62 different pieces by now. With no electricity for the security system, it was an easy to go in and get you out. So I had to blow up a few doors and mangle a few guards. This just shows that no-one, and I mean no-one is EVER taking you away from me.

Here we are. Chapter eighteen. one chapter away from the end. After nearly a month of letting it gather dust I have decided to get it done. well after this should be the third part of my tears of blood saga. Look forward to it people.

Hands of wrath: Chapter Eighteen

Sally relaxed as she heard this. This only proved that Sonic loved her. With each and everything he did seemed to be for her. Suddenly she remembered the chaos emerald. What about the -
Chaos emerald. Sonic interrupted as he nodded toward the map table. Sally saw a gently glowing emerald on the table top. She wouldnt ask why. She was just glad to have it back. That leaves the final one. Sally said. And that will be in the Overlander city to the north. I checked it while you were asleep. Sonic told her. Sally was just in awe of him. He had thought of everything. Best get a good sleep. This is going to be our most dangerous journey yet. Sally knew he meant. The Overlanders could be unbearable at best, barbaric at worst. She shuddered at the thought. Ill do a little research on where the emerald is. I want to spent as little time in that city as possible. Sonic said. Sally silently agreed with him. Sally bade him good night and went to her rooms. As she entered she suddenly felt so lonely as she pulled off her boots. Just as she was about to take off her waist coat, she noticed a note on her table. Picking it up, a bracelet fell out. On the note was a quick message:
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Sal, I think you forgot this. From your Blue.
It was her bracelet. She looked over the note again. Even though it was short, it seemed like a whole sonnet to her. Placing the note in her secret inside pocket she replaced the bracelet in its box. Just as she was about to place her waist coat on its hook, she looked over at Sonics picture on her bedside table. Sighing, she placed her waistcoat on its hook before she climbed into bed and drifted off into a restful and peaceful sleep. Waking up the next morning, Sally felt on edge as she got ready. Today, they were going to the main Overlander city, Capital City. She knew that this was where the majority of the Overlanders were so they had to be very careful. She personally didnt want to spent much time there. Pulling on her waistcoat, she left for the Planning room. Sonic was already there, holding a chilli dog. The planning room was strewn with papers and photos. I got a quick breakfast for you. I want to get business finished in Capital city fast. Sonic said as he took a bite of his chilli dog. Sally cast a glance to one side and noticed a bacon and egg sandwich sitting on one of the desks. Sally quickly ate the sandwich. So we all set? Sonic asked. Sally nodded in re4sponse. Scooping her up like he always did, they set off for Capital City. Do you know where the emerald is? Sally asked. Of course, its being auctioned off. Sonic replied.
Auctioned off? Whats an auction? Sally asked.
Well, it seems that a lot of objects are gathered in one place, and people try to get the items by bidding more money then the other people.
But we have no money. Sally said. Sonic cast a guilty look at the floor.
Sonic what have you done? Sally asked.
Please Sal, you got to understand its for the greater good. I.had to take the budget.
Well, I guess there was no way around it. We needed money and thats going to have to do. Sally sighed. They soon spotted Capital City on the horizon and it grew closer with each passing moment. Arriving, Sonic placed Sally down and pulled out a map of the city. Sally looked up at the bigger beings as they passed by. Some stared but a few sneered as they passed. Found it. Sonic said as he put his map away, scooped Sally up and sped off toward his destination. They arrived at the auction house, just as a heavily armoured division passed by. They both entered and took up a couple of seats. Sonic had picked up a programme as he came in and found that the emerald was going to be the star attraction. After a few bids had come and gone, the auctioneer announced that now was time for the star attraction. And thus the emerald was brought forth. Let bidding commence on.. here the auctioneer stopped to briefly look at his notes. a hundred pounds. Soon the auction house was alive with people bidding left and right. Sally heard the mounting cost, but Sonic sat quietly. I just heard three hundred and sixty pounds, any advance? At this Sonic raised his hand, bidding three hundred and seventy five pounds. Any advance? The auctioneer asked. The thud of the hammer signified that it was sold. After exchanging cash, they got there precious piece of glass. Tucking safely in his backpack, sonic scooped up sally and sped out of the auction house and Capital City. That was easy. Sally said. I wonder why Eggman didnt try anything? Well Ill think hell find it difficult with his radar smashed to a heap. Sonic replied. Sally laughed. Sonic did likewise as they tore back to base. Placing the last emerald on the table Sonic exhaled a sigh of relief. I still cant believe we have them all. Sally said as they looked at their collection of seven emeralds. Now we can get that de-robotizer the power it needs. Finally, their dream of de-robotizing there loved ones was about to be a reality. I believe that rotor has a focusing mirrior or something similar to what we need in his workshop. Sonic said. O.k. Sonic you get the de-robotizer set up while I come up with a plan. Sally told him. A few hours later and it was all set. Sonic came walking back in just as Sally was putting the finishing touches on her plan. Right on time Blue, hows the focusing lens? Sally asked. Stabile and the emeralds fit a treat so whats the plan? Sally outlined her plan; They would set the robotizer up on a hill over looking a large valley. Then Sonic would attract the attention of the local inhabitants by knocking out the main Swatbot comm. Centre, An access vent made it possible to place a bomb inside. After all the Swatbots were offline, Eggman would only have the robotic civilians. Sending them forward sonic would lead them back to the valley where Sally will activate the de-robotizer and turn them back. Good plan Sal. Sonic said. Lets hope it works. Its just got to work. Once Eggman finds out we have the emeralds there, hell come after them himself. Sally told Sonic. Well, I guess we had better get a goods night rest, Tomorrow is a big day. Sally agreed. Retiring to her chambers, Sally turned the plan over in her head. But as she entered, she started to think of what to do if it didnt succeed. She quickly dismissed it though. None of her plans had failed, she had absolute confidence in this one as she slipped into bed. She whispered a good night to Sonic before drifting off to an uneasy sleep.

At last, Cthe final chapter and an eplilouge. Sorry it took so long. I quite enjoyed writing it I only hope other people enjoy reading it. Well, onto the next fanfic the third in the tears of blood saga, Shadows.

Hands Of Wrath: Chapter Ninteen

&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Today was the big day. Sally woke early, the adrenaline pumping in her veins. The day she had waited for was here at last. Quickly getting ready, she made her way to the planning room. On the table she found a note. Picking it up she found it was penned in Sonics hand;
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Sal, Gone on ahead to cut the comm. centre connection. Have got the de-robotizer all set. Proceed to hill. Will see you when I get there. Love and kisses, Sonic.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp The note was brief but covered the basics. Sally went outside and found the de-robotizer, packed by the front door, ready to be assembled. The hill and valley were not too far outside the base as Sally pushed the wheeled crate to position. Opening up the crate she found some hand written instructions. All it seemed to be was a little bit of assembly. It didnt take Sally long and as she placed the focusing lens on, she glanced toward the metal city in the distance. Picking up the high def binoculars that were packed in with the de-robotizer, she glanced over the city. From her position she could see a blue streak, zipping between the buildings. Soon the streak was headed right for her, with a mass of grey following it. Sally turned on the de-robotizer and it hummed to life. Checking through the binoculars yet again, she could see that the blue streak was getting closer and she could make out the robotic citizens of Mobius. Lowering the binoculars from her eyes she checked the machine. It was ready to go, all she had to do was press the red button and salvation was theirs. Checking back she saw Sonic enter the canyon, the mob of bots not too far behind. Sal get ready. Sonic yelled as he past her. Sally got down next to the button as the mass of bots grew near. This was it. What all the years of rebellion, fighting, blood and tears had been for. In the next few moments it would come to an end. But something happened. The bots all stopped at the entrance to the valley. Sonic ran to the middle of the valley and pulled faces and taunted them but not one step did they take. Sonic cast a worried look up to Sally. Something was wrong. Sally heard a low drone and cast her eyes skyward. Sonic did like wise but it was too late Ardina was on top of him. As soon as Ardina landed he kicked up a small cloud of dust that blew in Sonics face. As Sonic shielded himself, Ardina grabbed him. And lifted him into the air SONIC!! Sally yelled as Sonic was lifted bodily into the air. Soon the cackling figure of Eggman appeared. Well, well, well. Look what I caught. Eggman gloated.
Eggman, you son of a biarrrgghh. Sonics last words were a cry of pain as Ardina squeezed him.
Now, now. No need for language like that in front of a lady. Eggman spoke. I bet your wondering how I found out about your little plan. Well, Ill tell you. When you raided my lab I noticed that apart from girlfriend being robotized I also noticed you had taken my other selfs notes on the effect the chaos emeralds had on focusing. First I thought I would collect the emeralds to try and stop you, but then I realised that Ill let you do all the hard work. I noticed some activity near this valley when I ran a progressive scan on the area. Im a lot more careful then Robotnik ever was. Sonic was stunned as was Sally. Eggman seemed to be a whole lot smarter then Robotnik as Robotnik never ran progressive scans of the area.
I have a little deal for you Princess. Hand over the emeralds and I will release you both you have my promise.
Sally, dont listen toarrrgggghhh. Once again Ardina tightened his grip on Sonic causing him to cry out once again.
Listen to him Princess. If you really love him then you will surrender the chaos emeralds to me and stop his suffering.
Sally, take the emeralds and erggh run. Sonic called out as he braced himself against Ardinas crushing vice like grip.
Give the emeralds to me or your boyfriends life is forfeit. Eggman warned.
Go, run. Sonic yelled. Sally was torn. She wanted to save Sonic but she didnt want to give the emeralds to Eggman. Sally slowly backed off toward the focus lens.
Dont try anything funny Princess or else he gets it.. Eggman threatened.
Sally press a button and all the emeralds fell from there place in the lens into a box. Taking the box Sally slowly walked forward toward Eggman. Sal, no. Im not worth the emeralds, just arrrggghhh. Ardina tightened his grip yet again. Good girl now place the emeralds down there and back off. Eggman motioned. Sally approached the point but broke off toward the forest. Eggman quickly drew his gun. You little- Eggmans last words were cut off by gunfire. Sally ducked behind a bush, clutching the emeralds close to her. Eggman landed his craft and stepped on to the cliff. He scanned the edge of the forest. I know youre here somewhere. Eggman called out. Im giving you a chance. Come out now or Sonic dies. Sally peered through the bush. After a brief wait Eggman turned to Ardina. Crush him but do it slowly. Eggman commanded. Ardina did as it was told and increased its grip. Sonic tried to withstand the immense crushing power but it was useless. Suddenly there was a light snap. Sonic had a look of horror on his face. Sallys eyes widened at the sound. What was that? Eggman said turning to Ardina. Fracture located in subjects right arm. Ardina reported. Eggman smiled as he turned back to the forest. Sally wiped tears from her eyes. She didnt want him to suffer anymore. Sal, dont worry about me, aright my arm! Sonic yelled as Ardina crushed Sonics form. Well, if you wont come out then Ill have no choice but to kill your boyfriend. Eggman said as he placed his pistol to the side of Sonics head. Sonic blinked tears and sweat out of his eyes. Im giving you till the count of three to hand over the emeralds or Sonic will see what his brains look like.
The guns not loaded, run. Sonic said.
One. Sally sat where she was. What was she to do?
Two. She believed Sonic but what if he was wrong?
Three. Sonic closed his eyes. Click.
Your boyfriend was right in that my gun wasnt loaded but now it is. Eggman announced as Sally watched as he slid in a clip. He pointed it to Sonics head. Sally opened up the case. How could she use this hidden power to save Sonic.
One. Eggman released the safety. The emeralds started to glow a soft white light.
Two. Eggman pulled the hammer back. The white light grew in intensity as the emeralds left the case.
Thre.. Eggman stopped as soon as he saw the white light. Sally felt the immense power form the emeralds as they circled round her. The power was immense as it coursed through her body. Eggman glanced up and noticed Sally in the middle of the emeralds. A flash of light and sally slowly descended to earth. She opened her eyes and frowned at Eggman, Her yellow eyes fixing him firm in her site. Eggman aimed his pistol and fired. The bullet hit Sally in the shoulder. She reeled from the impact but this only served to make her mad. Before the amazed eyes of Eggman, the wound healed and the spent bullet dropped to the floor. Eggman went to run but Sally glided along the floor and landed a punch square in the villains back that sent him sprawling to the floor. Ardina, watching the whole thing, Squeezed Sonic with all its metal might. Sonic cried out in pain as every inch of himself was crushed. Sonic!! Sally yelled and shot over to Ardina. Trying to back hand her Ardina swiped out with one big robotic hand. Sally stopped the hand and forced it down so she could land a right hook on Ardinas head. Flying down to the other hand she prised the fingers open as a limp sonic collapsed on the ground. Sally, seeing Sonic crushed and beaten only served to fuel her anger. Charging back at Ardina, she crashed through the front of his face, ripping out circuitry and pipes. The she smashed through Ardinas chest, sending blue coolant fluid gushing forth. The she smashed through Ardinas stomach and smashed the generator out of his back. Ardina stood for a moment before crashing to the ground. Sally cast her gaze back to where Eggman was but he was gone. She could make out a small shadow disappearing back to the ruins of Robotropilis, closely followed by the mob of citizens. She floated down next to Sonic and gently cradled his head. Are you alright? Sally asked. Yeah, but my arm. Sonic started. Sally raised a hand and placed it over his arm where Sonic was holding the fracture.. I dont know if this will work. Sally started as she concentrated. Sonic felt a warm feeling in his arm and the pain went. Sally had healed it. Sal Sonic said looking at her. She smiled back as she kissed him. A bright light surrounded them and Sally reverted back to her old self again as they parted. The chaos emeralds, floating in the sky suddenly glowed bright white then separated in to seven and disappeared in different directions. Sally returned her gaze to Sonic. I guess I returned the favour for saving me all those times. Sally said to him. Sonic just looked at her with tears forming in his eyes. Placing one hand alongside her face he spoke. Your super sal, and now I know that for a fact. Thank you. He said as he pulled her down to kiss her once more.

Epilouge

&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp When the others got back they wondered what had been going on. Rotor was puzzled as to why his focusing lens was cracked, Antoine wondered why a load of strange papers where littering the Planning room, Bunnie wondered where all their funds had gone and Tails was curious as to the massive amount of damage in the valley close to the base. When they where questioned on this Sonic and Sally just smiled at each other and said if they ever told them the truth, they wont believe them.
