Don't know if its in the proper forum, but I'm working on an "epic" poem (Epic in parenthesis because I'm unsure if it qualifies as an epic poem because I seriously doubt I can write a 10k line poem XD). You could say the theme is somewhat similar to Paradise Lost, but taking a slightly different direction (Instead of Satan being an anti-hero, it portrays him as a rebel; He represents Chaos, God represents order, yadda yadda yadda). I know this kinda thing will offend some people, but I hope they can understand :S
Basically, I want stories that would help me with what I'm planning on writing. Does anyone have anything that will help me out?

I must have clicked this thread like five or six times and written a slightly different reply each time, all of which basically amount to checking out the original epics by Homer. Even reading one section of it should give you some inspiration for the form of an epic poem. I'd love to recommend some literature that falls under the category you wanted, but it's... not exactly my forte, so I wouldn't even know where to begin ^^; Maybe doing some google searches?

I remember reading some Homer poems in High School, even if its been a while, but I'll look into it regardless.
