Another drawing that started with non-photo blue pencil, penned, then scanned and colored in PS.

This one has a young Kekkan, scoping his new gear out after his birth defect - uncontrollable surges of electricity - starts to take over his life. He wears an ESD jacket and gloves to prevent any discharges from escaping his body. His gloves have cut fingertips in order for him to function in life and feel things. The strong ESD material the gloves are made of allows little to no discharge to escape through his fingertips...

I like this one. Started off as a sketch in my new sketchbook, (thanks babe! ^^), scanned and colored in Photoshop. Been a while since I scan in and color. Started off the sketch with non-photo blue pencil and then penned.

I like how it turned out. We have a young Kekkan, through vigorous training with his teacher, is now able to tap into his spirit energy and his birth defect of an uncontrollable electric surge to perform inhuman feats.

Another look at Kekkan training in his early years. Here he learns how to shape and mold his spirit energy as he releases it and combines it with his electrical discharges. An energy force field, perhaps?

Kekkan in his late teens after the youthful happenings of his life and much martial arts training from his prior sensei. Now, out in the open world, he fends for himself and his friends, and continues his training to better himself, and compete against his longtime childhood friend, Jinsoku.

Going in line with the previous ones I've done, right now you see my other character, Jinsoku, or Jin, in his younger years. Ready and eager to start his training in the martial arts.

Jin now trains to control his own inner spirit energy. Unlike Kekkan, whose own birth trait allows him to freely and easily channel his energy, Jin has twice as hard a time to find his inner energy and to do what he will with it. This is just a glimmer of his future.

Seeing Kekkan advance himself so far in such little time, Jin works hard to try and get to his counterpart's level. When the time feels right, he attempts to fire off a spark of spirit energy... but to no avail. His energy disperses before his very eyes as he projects outwards.

Practice makes perfect.

Jin is finally getting the hang of controlling his spirit energy! Controlling two orbs of energy in each hand, he has now perfected how to mold and manipulate it. How far can he take it?

Jinsoku, erupting in a rage that boils his spirit energy to its brink. This is the pinnacle point of his transformation, his fur a glowing neon yellow, and will quickly divert back to the fire neon red.

Okay, so here we have Kekkan enraged into a transformation that has his spirit energy explode. His aura is completely visible to the naked eye, and his fur has turned to a neon color as a result of the strong aura and his spirit energy engulfing his entire being.

This is what Jin looks like after his transformation to his Neo stage. I'm really pleased as to how this came out. The angle, the lighting, the simple grassy background.

I gotta get better at backgrounds, though. There's something about it that I can't put my finger on it, dammit.

Poured the hell into that background, coloring and all. Still simplistic in comparison to many other backgrounds in existence out there, but I'll be lying if I didn't feel some sort of pride in this one. Love that the perspective came out (I think) perfectly!!!

As far as "where this falls", Kekkan finally has his powers under control after much help from Jin. Soon after, they both spar to test their limits.
