Right now I'm just experimenting with body editing and color swapping, so I used Amy's colors for Pink Sonic and Sonic's colors for BluKnux and BluAmy. I think I did okay.

Those sprites look very nice. You did a very good job, supershadow. I'm pleased with the way you did those sprites.

They're STILL mostly recolors, though. For that much they're okay (considering I can see some alterations were made), but I really reccomend doing something much more substantial.

If nothing else, read this some.

1st pic

The greyish blue you used on the shading on the shoes is a poor choice. you should've used navy instead.

Speaking of navy, you left a pixel of navy on the top of one of the head spikes.

2nd pic

Kraips...This sprite reminds me so much of Lilina from FE6. Anyway;

You see the pinkish grey around the eyes, next to the grey pixels? That was put it so it would blend in with Amy's fur colour. You left it in. Bad idea. you probably should've recoloured it to a greyish blue.

You left a pixel of light blue in from the sheet, between Amy's muzzle and her hand. Oops.

There's crimson pixels just left of her eyes. That's no good. Grey or blue methinks so it works with the new blue fur.

The grey on the eyelashes should be navy - again, to match better with the new fur colour.

Some of the handle of the hammer is navy. I'm assuming your hand slipped while usign the fill tool. w/e

The top of the hammer's greyish and there's a single greyish pixel on her left boot. It just looked a tad odd. no biggie. *shrug*

3rd pic

The 3rd seems fine. I'm too tired to type so much like on the 2nd but the shoes radiate that you edited the buckles out because the lumps remain.

Okay, crit done. I see from errors here and there that you do colour replacing pizel by pixel. I assume you're using MS Paint. Well, there's a trick I discovered in my spriting days that I'll share with you.

- Right click the colour that you wish to replace with the eyedropper tool.

- Select the colour you want to replace with using the left mouse button.

- Draw out, and fill in, a box of the colour you selected with the left mouse button. The box should be bigger than the sprite.

- Select the tool at the top left. You know, the select tool.

- See the two boxes with the three objects in them in the toolbar at the side? The top one should be selected. Instead, select the bottom one.

- Now, finally, select the sprite and drag it over into the box filled with colour.

Moo. Too tired to explain how it works. Maybe someone else will. I hope I explained it well. ...This took WAY too lnog to type up. I multitask too heavily. *flops away*

HSW, your colour replace method, though clever, is needlessly long-winded. MS Paint comes with a colour replacer tool; it's the right-click function of the eraser. You'll have to play around with the combination of background and foreground colours to work out which one replaces which, though; I can't remember off-hand.

It'd be a nifty solution if there weren't a colour replacer, though. For those who don't feel like trying to understand, the theory is this: the particular select tool option HSW said to use leaves any parts of the selection that are the background colour blank. As such, when they're moved over to the coloured block, the blank bits (which used to be the colour you want to replace) are filled but the coloured bits are placed on top of the block. It's a simple, elegant solution in theory, but in practice there's a much easier way of doing it. ;P

I have to agree with shadow hog, you do need to add more of your own alterations. if you just have what you did, it'd basically be like you tracing someone elses picture, color it differently, add something different (small, but different), and call it your own creation.

but on the posetive side, you do have an alright shading dealy. though you probably should avoid black (as you probably already know). good job. keep it up.
