I suppose I might as well show off my artistic "skills" (for lack of a...worse term).
First off, we have good ol' Lara-Su. I just loved the way Tracy rendered her in the M:25YL 2-parter and decided to give 'er a go. Comments are most appreciated!
Of course, feel free to take a glance at my gallery if you wish. Boost my ego by increasing my hit count! I'll feature some more pics on here when I'm not so lazy.
*bumps your hitcount by one!*
lara-su doesn't look so bad. you've got her clothes and other basic details right. yay for fan-art!
is it the angle of her pose that hides her dreads, or didn't you want to draw them fully..?
my main niggle and suggestion here would be to look at her proportions. where you trying to go for forshortening there with the glowing arm and also her left leg?
even then, her left leg is scarily bigger then her right. ^^;
by the same view, her arms seem too short. elbows finish at hip-level, not breast.
you've given her rather a male torso, so drawing her with some hips, or even a slight dip in her sides to show her waist would help there.
i'm not saying thes things to put you down or make you feel bad aobut your image. you asked for comments and think of yourself not to be a good artist. if there's any way i can help you in your improvement (other then screaming 'practise! lots!') then i'll do what i can to help.
Your image was pretty good. The main problem is the colouring. I really think it coould have used shading. I really respect artists that use traditional media (I like digital too). *huggle*
How I usually colour depends on the type of pencil crayons I use.
If you use anything other then Prisma Colours you should start out with a light base of colour. For Lara you colour use a red. Then start a darker patch where the shadows would be and maybe add some darker crimson in. To smooth everything down you can use a white pencil crayon...so it looks seemless. If you start too dark with your base colour then it will be really hard to shade (unless you have prisma colours and then it doesn't matter).
The perspective on her hand doing the power-up was great and so was her upper body in general. ^_^
