Is that supposed to be an anthro My Little Pony character?  It looks neat so far...Although I'm not quite sure, but the nose/mouth almost seems a little too narrow at the moment, lending the possibility that it looks a bit more like a...lemur nose or other monkeyface.

But other than that I can tell pretty much what it is.

I was thinking that myself, about the nose that is.  I think it may have shrunk in transit between sketch book and card though alterations have been somewhat unsuccessful.  Do you think it narrows off too quickly or needs to be wider from the base?

Hmm...guess it depends on how closely you want to emulate the MLP style.  It seems with the MLP style, the muzzle isn't even really out there that far - It's more of a little extra curve in the circle of their head.

But if you want to make it more horselike, it may be narrowing too quickly...I dunno, I'm no expert at these sorts of things just talking about them.  I work better visually.  But that would be what I'd say.

Cute! Maybe you want to show more of the ankle-backward-bend or whatever that is...if you're going for digitigrade-ness...which I think you are...?

@ Terg...depends on WHICH MLP style she's going for...though my guess would be the current one (Friendship Is Magic...or as the MLP community (that I am also a part of) calls them....G4's)

It's not too unreasonable to assume it's the most recent wave of MLP that's gone totally crazy all over the Internet that's the inspiration.  What with her avatar being currently one of them and all.

Okays! SO, We goda lot of pics on the way.  Presently I'm working on a group action pic for the Group Mission 'my little Mofo' and a mini comic concerning Cherry's attempts at 'teach yourself flight'.   However, all of those are still in my sketch book and I'm not confident enough to start posting them till their almost ready for digitising.  In the mean while here's what I've done so far with the first Cherry sketch!

So far I've changed quite a bit.  I've reworked the head to shrink it slightly, added more brake points the feathers in the wings, tucked the arm with the Me-Pad in further (so it doesn't look like it'd been dislocated anymore ^^; ), changed the feet back to hoofs and compacted the tail to make it less bulky.  I'm still not happy with the legs but as you can see I've already started  inking at the top I'll probably finish off the upper body first before I start faffing with fundamentals any further.  Any comments?  Which changes do you think work and which don't, or what would you like to see tweaked?  Totally open to any suggestion people can throw at me ^_^

Btw: I totally want a Fez-Squid t-shirt... don't know why, especially as I only drew it an hour ago.  Think I might check Oxfam next time I'm in town, its the kind of oddity they tend to have hidden away in the racks somewhere

I like how it's turning out so far - the muzzle seems better now than it was before.  I think a large part of it had to do with the nostril size - they are much nicer now, not so prominent off the snout like they were before.  Same with the lips.  And it looks smoother now too, likely the result of inking it in.  I like the look.

Still a ways to go, but it's looking like it's moving along nicely!

Thanks Tergi ^_^   Just compared the draft with this one and I can see what you mean now about the nostrils, they were almost bisecting her face before XD It's surprising how many changes happen on the fly once you start inking, you end up spotting things that you couldn't see before.

Ah... Didn't think about that, thanks Ramza.  I'll probably brake it off into two pics then once the top half is done, I do kinda like the hoofs but I hadn't thought about how they fit into the world ^_^

I dunno, I kinda like the hooves myself.  That said, it does give the option for...

Soooo doodles for today.  First up is a concept doodle for Leraku, very experimental atm but its a good starting point.   I tried to add more 'dragon' into the mix while keeping the basic shape and nonchalant personality he seems to have. Anything you want to change before the final pic Leraku?  Like the Spyro horns perhaps?    Not a clue where those things came from, just started filling out the hair and suddenly realised that one was massively off center but looked like kinda 20% cooler, thus began the metamorphosis.

Lastly here's a practice sketch for Fim style that turned into Rene!   Defiantly not a final design but I'd thought I'd share it, though I'm perplexed as to why her Cutie mark came out as an apple core

I think the Leraku pic is turning out well.  I can't help but think he looks a bit like a chibi anthro goat with a tail, and I know by saying that it may sound like a bad thing, but I think he's adorable!  The stream of smoke from the mouth is a neat touch.

And d'awww - looks like a good practice start!  It must be hard to make tiny details look like what they're supposed to be (like cutie marks).

I went through the roster, and it looks like only Justin is a unicorn pony, with Mobius and "Cherry" as the only pegasus ponies.  All the rest are earth ponies, except for Crimson who's a sea pony (which is more a callback to the older generations than it is to the current cartoon incarnation, owing to the fact that we have yet to see any sea ponies).

It looks like it's shaping up!

Whoa, what a long day that has been, but Very productive. Work went well, found time in brake to doodle in the sunshine, solarpowered arts and all that. Also found time this evening to not only create a stack of paper for this art project I've got going, but also colour some of the days doodles!!! OHMYGOSH! So here we go!

You can see some of the blocks where chracters are going to be eventualy, but this is very ruff at the moment. Just getting the feel for the space. The plan is to have this as a widescreen desktop eventualy. Fingers crossed it dosn't fall by the wayside ^_^

Eep, sorry Ramza, its actually a follow on picky from Kairus in the first one. I doodled a short comic where cherry convinces him to try harder ("If I can learn to fly, then magic should be easy") with the resulting peeps burial 🙂
I am starting to find it far easier to doodle ponies now, doesn't take nearly as much correction as it did before, so no doubt we'll be seeing plenty of pics from the other characters as and when the inspiration strikes ^_^

I see. Heheh. Well, I've finally posted again, so maybe that will get the GM moving again, and give you more inspiration for your art.

This is all really looking good. The designs are great - I like how you parted Justin's hair on either side of his horn like that, nice touch.

Hey, felt like saying something if you ever wanna draw lera again.
I usually don't draw him with a nose - they're all fiddly for me, heh, so it was a bit odd at the time when i saw it. Not entirely sure, but adding his black ear tips/lemur mask would probably help make it look a lot cooler too

Even so, i extremely envy your awesome sketchy skillz.
