This is all the stuff i have been working on that i have posted at other sites that i just decided to quote here to see what you think.

This all esentially started in Summer 2003 , i wanted Sonic in Halo Custom Edition ,

(Which for those who do not know is a better version of Halo PC , and is free to download if you have a CD key , just google it)

CE or Custom edition is growing like crazy with many modifications , and custom content , making it more fun that just normal Halo.

my idea started when i saw some people modeling levels in 3dsmax 6 and got the idea.

After all this time this is what me and my Team of about 40 + people have done.

-Sonic ingame replacing the main character so you walk around as him!
-Sonic scenery ingame , including springs , star posts , and much more!
-Vehicles such as the Tornado and some Badniks from Sonic X !
-Sonic Heroes textures and character models ingame!
-Custom Weapons , like Amys PikoPiko hammer ingame!
-Custom sounds from the Games ! ingame , such as the jump sound !
-Rings replacing health packs!
-Multiple characters! , do not just play as Sonic! play as a total of 7 characters!

All this is hard coded , and has took us ages , but it really is great.

That basically sums up whats been going on so far , at the moment we are bored because "ghost" wants to learn anims and wants to do nothing else first so he can start on the weapons which is slowing down everything else.

Daz has done most of the Bipeds just need to get Rec0s tut or something to help rig them correctly so they have no bloody tears in the bodys , not sure if hes used the correct and exact nodes for all of them , he should have done , i will check later.

I having nothing to do have been coming up wtih random shite ideas like normal which are mostly BS because nothings new on Sonic Gulch , because of Ghost working on other things.

Radical Highway is ingame but yet again i have not played it because Ghosts busy.

Fire_Dragon , joined the team yesterday , because i decided we needed someone else to help get stuff ingame , so i found him and added him to the team roster , hes trying to get the Chao garden ingame , because it has some errors hes gonna try and get round it by doing it as one huge piece of scenery should be done by tonight GMT UK time according to him.

New item pick ups rock , trying to get things like pick up sounds and stuff done for them , plus the vehicles , and character sounds.

Had to rebuy Sonic Adventure DX for my comp so i could get reference pics the other day cause it went missing in my room some time ago.

We have like Half the Sonic Community on about 4 boards supporting us apparently now , plus the minority from GBX , the majority from here , Deviantart, and about 3 other sites , which adds up to about ..... 2000 + people , which i think is pretty cool , alot of support.

As for any new things , we got animated textures working , so we can make flashing characters like the super characters now , thats why they have been added .

Also if anyone did not see we got the chaos models that "Sonic chao" posted ingame , or atleast chaos 4 , at the moment i might ask Daz to get the rest ingame too.

We decided to try and make him look like you see him now after i said was it possible to add halos water shader to him as a skin , so we tryed and got the nice effect you see on the pics.

As for characters , having 14 or more characters (not decided if theres gonna be anymore) in Halo is a Miricle , all the game is hardcoded mostly , so its very hard to mod some parts of it , but other parts are quite easy , doing all those characters , and then trying to sync them so they all work in levels and you randomly change character when you die and then respawn is what we are trying to do at the moment and it really is hard , you have to get each characters animation and joint nodes exactly the same as the rest other wise they do not sync and it wont allow you to use them all in the same map.

Weapons we are leaving till last , but we do have them planned , there will be some real weapons making an appearance to add the "Shadow the hedgehog" game likeness , and also normal Sonic weapons , like Bigs fishing rod , Amys Hammer , Gamma`s Rifle , and more. (Open to suggestions at the moment)

-Droid Tank from 1st Ep of Sonic X
-Turret Droid Also from Sonic X Ep 1
-The Tornado 2
-Chao Walker (@#%$ up so far , trying to repair)
-The F6 Bigfoot (is a monster to drive)

As for scenery we have some cool scenery including Chao that walk around and try to fly ingame which is cool , and also we have the Death Egg , springs and other nick nacks for ingame too.

Really hard work should be done soon , with most things , then we just need to mess around wtih all the shaders in game and then it should look alot better adding speculiar lightning effects to vehicles and things.

Anyone who would say this stuff is easy , trust us its not , it is really hard work.

New Update

Ok back all , after having a very intresting weekend of being kidnapped by my GF again i just got back , well actually it was about 4 hours ago , but thats nothing you need to know.

New things .... well , Daz managed to pimp the tank out abit more and now the tread textures move to make it look like the treads are moving , quite impressive ^^.

That and Lightning reassures me that he can remake all the shaders to look exactly like the SADX ones which i find quite jaw dropping.

As you can see in the first pic above , Daz has also been working on the bipeds , like he always does , and damn is he good at it , hes been messing with Rec0 & Steelix B`s new version of the Vertex tool , and Amy as you can see looks abit better , shes got some stretching in places but thats being fixed.

As for this second picture above , its Hyper Sonic if no one knows , he flashes some different colours which i have not got right yet , it was just a quick mess around , but if we can get flashing textures working then alot more cooler characters will be added.

HOW CAN YOU THE PUBLIC HELP?

Simple! , as you can see this is a plan i am using to make Sandopolis into a level its pretty basic and MS paint serves its purpose.

All you the public have to do is ....

1: Think of a cool Sonic Level Idea , say .... Marble Zone From Sonic 1
2: Plan it out on MS paint with a Key like mine
3: Post it here of course of PM me it!

*Note: Make sure all plans are simple , and include details of what shapes are needed to make certain things , like for example , the Temples in the Marble Zone are 1 Pentagon , and 2 Cylinders.

Also , Levels MUST be from Sonic , ANY Sonic game , I dont mind , but bare in mind heres what we are doing so far.

Also Daz is messing with Amy abit more , and also hes done the new super sonic model , and it looks cool ingame so hes tweaking that , also ..... Hes now working on characters that we need to do now that are left , currently its tails at the moment , basically hes doing them first to get them in , and then tweaking them all bit by bit.

Ok Heres what I have been Working on Today...

And here are the untouched Pictures ...

And After all that , heres some random screens of things i have been looking at , in 3dsmax , on vids daz has sent me or from Saipen where Daz has been working on bipeds.

Yea that is a Gundam, and yes it is not ripped from ANY GAME its about 900 polys , and yea that is Cloud Strife as a biped , and yes he is also very Ub3r Low poly , as for the Super Sonic pic , yea thats the New model , with Daz fixing the Skin modifier , and the same With Tails , and Also the Morpheus biped ingame just as a mess around 5 min job , head is @#%$ for some reason which is unknown Oo.

The Lake Map is a alpha , but that one is done by Sonic Tag and i have yet to mess around with it , but i hope to get Chaos 4 swimming in it , Big Fishing at the side of it , and Cream Flying round with Charmy overhead , with some chao , and trees and stuff , basically for eye candy.

Me and Sunny are thinking of getting back modding together even though technically we never broke up , He is still pimping my Delta Halo Control Room model level which i made ages ago which looks pimp and i would like the H2CE team to pimp it with their stuff as well as my classic if thats ok with them , as for Sunny himself, i am donating all my DBZ models and stuff to his DBZ mod which he is thinking of restarting with my help ^^.

Oh and yea i put us on the mod data base in the Halo section ^^

o yea , for anyone who noticed that the Gundam , Matrix models , and Cloud model are from Half Life , I DID ask permission over Email to use them , from the creators , and they said it WAS ok to use them , currently Sunnys asking about the ESF models , and if so then we can use those too.

This Morning i decided to try modeling the Station Square Chao Garden by Hand for fun , and because i can , so i had a wack at it , and even though i did not make it exactly the same , heres what i did make.

UPDATE

On Moddb , where it says 40% , that is actually wrong , i did that as an estimation , the mod is actually about ...... well i cannot really say , basically all thats left to do with the Mod side is ..

1:Get Bipeds all done , and Same Nodes so that they all go ingame together.

2:Finish off any scenery that needs doing
3:Make Better Shaders for everything
4:Get Weapons tagged.
5:Update Textures and skins if need be and Get HUD working

As for the Levels themselfs , once we have the Mod set done , they we will be able to use the tags from it in every level we make , so thats why we are concentrating on the mod set , because then we can make maps quicker and easier.

Currently i have been on PSO alot , so i have not been in real contact with any of the team as such , but i do know that ghost , the co-leader of the project (Only just become that) is not on msn much at the moment so hes either on vacation , or something else.

Apart from him , and Sonic Chao , one of the other modelers , Everyone is accounted for , currently i think everyone is either working or relaxing for now , as i know Daz has been working on the bipeds.

Ghost and Sonic Chao both play their important roles , so i hope they will be back soon.

Some of the character models do look particularly good, so major props there.

I'm most impressed by the gorgeous 3D Labyrinth zone you have there which looks nothing short of stunning. I can only dream of how great a proper 3D level would look like fully, and that there is a very well done model. You've even gotten the patterns spot on! Fantastic work here, I look forward to seeing what else you produce. :)

The new version we tested out last night , not a real test that i can tape as such with any fighting , might do that later on tonight , but it was amazing , all the new things in , and the sky we changed back to normal , plans for new things still underway , and we are having to completely re do all the bipeds which will set us back abit in the way of time it will take to complete the mod side of things , i anticipate a release before next year now , but thats only if we get the mod done and dusted before hand.

Having seen all these mods, skins, etc.... I now want to buy Halo CE just for them. You guys are doing an amazing job, and I look forward to the final product.

Made this entirely from scratch , just took me about 35 mins , of messing in SA2 and watching vids of the level on the net.

Not textured yet , need the SA2 Textures really , for that , its not finished , far from it , but ghost said he wanted the Craft Carrier making , so i just decided to have a shot it it . ONLY 869 polys!.

actually, double posting is indeed against the rules.
if you've new pictures to add, just edit them into the previous post. of course, you may add a new post if someone has replied since your last post. (if that doesn't make sence, just read the forum rules.)

also it may help those of us on slower connections if you just gave links to the very large sized pictures, instead of posting them directly into the thread.

this game is looking good from what i've seen so far. ^^ good work on the biolizard.

NINE BIPEDS!!!

Hey all , just got back from yize`s , she again kidnapped me , and i am now in the process of starting a LAN party with my mates next week round mine on H2 , so i decided i would post this new info now cause i just got hold of it myself.

As you can see there are 8 bipeds there , and the reason why they look like dummys is because we have not added the animations for them all yet , Daz said he would work on it , and my estimation of him completing them is about another Month, although its not certain , he said not to quote him so i have not.

wait .... i said 8 right ... but the topic title said 9!!! , lol only joking with ya ... just after Daz gave me that i decided to add super shadow , but daz said we had no room left cause we had used up all the shaders , so we took Sonics crystal ring i gave him , and turned it normal white , and made Super Shadow for the SA2 maps.

We are at our Limit for shaders , but if anyone wanted they could get more ingame it would just take a hell lot more shader sharing , our Bipeds share 30 shaders in total , and that is the Max for Halo , you can only have 30 shaders for characters.

We are currently looking at Moving onto the HUD , and FP view after doing the bipeds , and whilst doing that i am trying to think of level designs , at the moment i am thinking more SA2 seeing as i am looking in the file with all SA2`s textures in , i am currently trying to texture my Metal Harbour model.

As for the Characters Hands , for those who hated them Daz will be working on making them look less retarded , at the moment Ghost is doing nothing but training for the Clan Matches and also Seeing if he can script AI to work over the net for some random reason.

Sonic Conversion For Halo In Danger Of Full Scale Collapse

Today my parents gave me yet another threat which seemed that they wanted it to stick this time ,

"Your on that computer almost all day , We`re gonna cancel the net cause we hardly get it , you cannot do that all the time"

But they dont realize , i don`t think it sinks in with them , everytime they use "your upstairs doing nothing in your room" as a excuse to try and get me to go out more , then they know perfectly well that i am working with my fellow team members developing a videogame Conversion For Halo Combat Evolved Custom Edition.

I will explain "I am developing something for a dying video game that i care about" , but their excuse to that is "Well your not making any profit from it" , i have not explained yet that it will go into a portfolio for future reference for job applications , but at the moment they just seem to want me out of the house which i know i cannot do , i have kept every word i have made since i saw that i would never lie again to anyone , and if i say the mod will be done around Jan Feb 2006 maybe , i will stick to it , i have no job and am currently seeking one as they seem to insist i do not free load on their hospitality , and they have since told me to go back to college for another year to try and keep myself going with that.

I care for the team , and the Conversion , and i know i cannot do what they ask of me unless i have a part time job somewhere , so at the moment i am going to work as normal and ask all team members who read this to drop everything else they are doing , weather it be their own personal work , or something else , we need our Conversion worked on harder than ever now , or we may see a death of it atleast for some time , and i do not want that to happen.

All others reading this please comment in a mature manner that might help the situation because it seems if i cannot convince my parents then maybe you , the people who watch and love what we are doing can ....

Dude, how old are you?
You're pissing your life away on a video game.
Ever take a break from angstpartying and maybe think your parents are right?
You can't spend your entire life holed away in your room working on an "Important Project." I'm not saying to stop working on it, but maybe take a few breaks for a couple days every now and then huh? If it's delayed, it's delayed. These things happen and nobody really cares. You're doing yourself more harm than good by putting all your time into this.
And it isn't going to help much on a resume that you spent two years doing nothing.

Either way, the timing is quite off for both of you - apparently our boy making this project has been booted off the internet by his parents as they had threatened. Otherwise we would've seen him around for another update or something by now.

Unless he comes back, this thread is pretty much dead. Which makes arguing about it more pointless than anything.
