This is my first sonic fanfic. This is something I made up.It's the prologue for now:
PROLOGUE:
TWO YEAR'S AGO......
LOCATION:TIME VALLEY, ABOVE TIME LAKE,DEATH EGG CORE.
Sonic kept running, squinting as he ran, pulling out all the stop's.But it was seemingly no use, for try as he might,this...."Mecha Sonic" kept catching up to him, speeding faster and faster,it's emotionless mouth twisting into an evil grin.
"GIVE UP HEDGEHOG!!!YOUR DEFEAT IS IMMENENT IN THE NEXT 1 MINUTE, 34.5 SECOND'S!!!!THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN WIN!!!"It shouted, it's voice a high pitched shriek.
"Wanna bet?"Answered Sonic, moving faster and faster,but he could see eggman, hovering in the the air with his buddy, Miles "Tails" Prower, who was unconcious, and Amy Rose, a little hedgehog girl who claimed she was his girlfriend, tied to the back of his egg-mobile.He had to do it for them.He stared forward and concentrated.Concentrated.Concentrated......suddenly, he found his leg's were changing the way they moved,they were changing into the shape of........
"What!?!?"Shouted eggman, hardly daring to beleive what he was seeing.Mecha Sonic looked for once, on his metallic face,stunned.
"Get ready ro'butt'nik, forrrrrrrrr.....THE SUPER-FIGURE EIGHT-PEEL-OUT ATTACK!!!!!"Laughed Sonic,speeding ahead, as Mecha Sonic tried to catch up with him.But as he tried, eggman realized that Mecha Sonic was built to match Sonic's speed, not exceed it.Sure enough, as Mecha Sonic sped up, his leg's overheated, and then....they started to melt....
"BZZZZZzzzztttt...GuhhH....."As he suffered a core meltdown,Mecha Sonic sped of the path,falling into the darkness below....
"WHAT!?!?NO!!!!!!!!!!"Spat eggman, throwing his prisoner's off the mobile in frustration.
"NO!"Shouted Sonic, throwing himself forward.....and catching them just in time.Tails started to come to.
"W...wha..hapiurnedugh........guh...what happened?"He asked Sonic,dazed.
"Nothin that you need to know bud...just rest.You earnt it."He said, grinning at his friend.
"Oh....okzzzzzzzzz..."He mumbled,falling asleep in Sonic's arm's.Amy Rose, on the other hand, was chatting non-stop.
"Iknewyou'dcomeandrescuemeSonicseeingashowi'myourbiggestfanandIloveyoutobit'sand-"
"Amy....shut up."He growled.
"sigh!He spoke to me!"And with that, she fainted.Huh, thought Sonic, that's better.Now, to deal with robo-butt.
Suddenly everything started to explode and crumble.
"HUH!?!?"He shouted, dodgeing some falling debris.
"I set off the self destruct, hedgehog,to ensure that you woudn't get your hand's on my tech-"But suddenly, eggman noticed Sonic had gone.
"Damn, why does that allway's happen!"He mumbled.
OUTSIDE
Sonic landed on solid ground, ran backl to knothole, dropped Tail's and Amy off, and ran back to watch the Death Egg explode.He even managed to hurl a stone at Robotnik as he flew away.
"Well,"He laughed, dusting his glove's,"nothing could have survived that blast!"And then he ran home.
But he was wrong.Something did survive the blast.
Something horrible.

CHAPTER 1
PART 1: The Beggining
THE KNOTHOLE KINGDOM, KNOTHOLE PALACE, COMPUTER ARCHIVES,TWO YEARS LATER.
Sonic was mulling over memories past, using the computer terminal, and as he read them he checked them off in his mind.
KNOTHOLE FREEDOM FIGHTERS FORMED.
ROBO-ROBOTNIK APPEARS.
EGGMAN KILLED.
Sonic grinned. THAT was one of his favourite moments.
SONIC GOES ON HIS WORLD TOUR.
IXUS NAUGUS BANNED TO THE PHANTOM ZONE.
ROBOTNIK REAPPEARS.
Sonic winced. THATwasnt such a good moment.
ROBOTOPILIS REFORMED.
KINGDOM OF KNOTHOLE FORMED.
As it went on, Sonic realized that he had left something out. He scanned the screen with his gaze, and then he saw it.
MECHA SONIC APPEARS.
Sonic shivered. He could still see that emotionless face, see his evil grin..
Sonic? You okay? Came the voice of his girlfriend, Princess Sally Acorn. As he turned around, he saw her worried expression.
Im fine Sal, he said walking off with her, just.He stared back at the moniter. just bad memories.
MECHA SONIC APPEARS.

TIME VALLEY, TWO WEEKS AGO.
Time valley had accelerated back to normal after the destruction of the death egg. The people of knothole had even used the wreckage to create a sort of monument to the destruction of the weapon. But nobody noticed that they had thrown on the pile a piece of charred, blue machinery. So the days turned to months and then to years..until one day two weeks ago

Now that is cool chaos. Having Mecha as his own master. What will it take to kill that thing? Will he kill Robotnik for leaving him onm the death egg? How will he ruin Sonic? And is any of the FFteam the intended target to help mechas revenge? So many questions that need answers.
CHAPTER 2:
PART 1: Loose ends
CASINO NIGHTS ZONE (ABANDONED).160 HOURS AND 31 SECONDS AGO.
Casino night zone had once been a grand gambling area, lorded over by Robotnik. Since then, though, Robotnik had been forced to leave it early on in his career, because he lost a heavy battle with the freedom fighters and, overnight, disappeared along with all his robots back to Robotopolis. King Max had ordered that soon most of it would be knocked down, but some would be left standing as a monument of what had once stood before in the grip of Robotnik. However, there was someone down there in the old poker building who shouldnt be there. And there was only one other person who knew that he was there. Unfortunatelythat person was a weasel by the name of Nack.
Hovering over the old buildings in his hovercraft, Nack the weasel couldnt believe his luck. Here he was, in an UNGUARDED AREA, with a promise of a bountiful reward for the capture of the little fur ball below! It was too good to be true. He descended a little lower..and THERE! He could see the two yellow tails.and then..he dived!
Tails looked around, making sure that no one was here, and then he moved forward to the machinery that had once been CNZs main computer. Tails grinned. This was the part he was going to enjoy. After all, who wouldnt enjoy prise out the super computers main core? He was just prising the panels off when he heard the sound of swoosh! Tails turned around rapidly. He thought he heard something.. Never mind, he would look later. He turned back to the console, and he started to pick through the wires, searching for the computer core.
ZOOM!
Huh? Said Tails, and he turned around. And then he wished he didnt. For, standing behind him, with a pistol in hand, grinning malevolently at him was Nack the weasel. He sighed a sigh of relief.
Oh, its just you Nack. Mumbled Tails, turning back to the console.
Of course I-HEY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!? Shouted Nack, anger and surprise evident in his voice.
Tails sighed. Ignoring you. After all, youre not worth any attention.
Nack gasped. WHAT!?! HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO ME LIKE-and then suddenly he calmed down. You know what? Youre right fox.
Tails turned around, suddenly worried. Wait a minute..Im right?
Nack grinned. Yep. And alsoI wanted to show you something. He murmured, smiling.
What? Tails answered, his curiosity buzzing.
This And suddenly, without warning, he fired, hitting Tails squarely in the chest. Tails face blossomed into a expression of shock..before sinking to the floor, unconscious. Nack holstered his weapon, and then dragged Tails to his craft.
That was too easy. Mumbled Nack, taking off, with Tails lying in the back of the craft making no sound at all. Nack was almost disappointed that this had been so easy.
Than again..
BIG BUCKS HERE I COME!!!!!!!! He shouted, flying to the drop point his employer had said: Time Valley.
MECHA SONIC APPEARS.

CHAPTER 2:
PART 2: .should be tied up.
TIME VALLEY, 157 HOURS AND 31 SECONDS AGO.
Nack was nearing his location when he spotted something unusual. All the flowers had closed up, though it wasnt winter yet, or night. And it looked like something had savaged the very earth they were hovering over. Strange, thought Nack, but not as strange as what lay before him. As he looked up, his jaw dropped. He had been to Time Valley before..but he had never seen anything like this.
In what had once been the place the death egg monument had stood, there was what looked likea bizarre construction site. Robots flew through the air, dragging around bits of metal and wiring, and then applying them to this..dome. Nack was looking wary all of a sudden. Suddenly, something came over his speaker.
PLEASE PROCEED TO MAIN DOCKING BAY. HIS EMMENINCE WISHS TO MEET YOU.PERSONALLY. END TRANSMISSION.
Nack looked a little more worried now. He was considering turning back until he remembered the big reward. Gulping, he flew toward the two huge doors that were the main hanger. As he approached, he heard a low rumbling sound and then the huge doors of the hanger opened. As he flew inside he thought that all that was below him was darkness. Huge ships lined the hanger, and they all had rather menacing weapons poking out of the sides. Ahead, Nack landed at a protruding platform poking out of a giant orb in the centre of the dome. As he got out, he saw no one there to greet him. Hm, thought Nack, well I may as well go on ahead, even though if you looked at the expression on his face, you wouldnt think that hed be so eager. He picked Tails up out of the craft, walked along the walkway, being careful not to look down, as, even though he was used to flying at great heights, he didnt know how deep it was, until he came to a shiny unmarked metal war. Nack grimaced.
What am I supposed to do now? He said, hoping, or rather not hoping, that someone would here him. Suddenly, a line appeared in the wall, and strangely enough, started to appear in front of him. Then, to Nacks absolute amazement, it opened, showing a dark corridor ahead, lined with cameras. For a moment, he was uncertain as to whether to go forward, or run away. Then, he remembered the reward, so he set his face in a grim mask of determination. But, even as he walked forward, in the back of his mind, he kept thinking the same thing over and over again: Ive got a bad feeling about this.
Unnnnn moaned Tails, still unconscious, but starting to come around. Too late kid, thought Nack, WAY too late. Suddenly, another door opened in front of him, darkness all that was beyond it. He drew a breath..then moved forward, into the darkness . At first, all their was, was a spotlight, beamed on Nack. Nack stood there for a moment thinking about what to say. And then.
I brought the ..package. Remarked Nack, not sure if their would be a reply. Then
REALLY? Came a cold, metallic voice. Nack shivered.
Y...yes. He answered, stammering slightly. He laid Tails on the floor. So.about my reward?
Suddenly, it stepped out of the shadows. Before, he could start screaming, Nack was hit by a flash of light.then silence.
YOUR REWARD..IS TO SERVE ME.
MECHA SONIC APPEARS.

I like this chapter. Nack gets what he desreves. I want to know what tails has to play in the grand scheme of things.

CHAPTER 3
PART 1: What goes up
KNOTHOLE ENTRANCE, 151 HOURS AND 31 SECONDS AGO.
Sonic stood next to the old gate, looking up at the sky, and wishing for once, that all the fighting, all the struggling..could end and he could have some rest and relaxation with Sally. Just maybe..but suddenly, as he was nodding off, he heard something.in his head.
YOU.
Huh? mumbled Sonic, waking from a drowsy sleep. He looked around. No one was there. He leaned back. Must be my imagination. He answered.
YOU.DEFEATED.ME.
What the?!? shouted Sonic, falling backwards out of shock. In front of him was a shadowy figure, which seemed to be..glinting?
YOU WILL FEEL MY PAIN. AND THEN YOU WILL FEEL IT AGAIN. AND AGAIN.AND AGAIN!!!!!!! It seemed to shout, yet didnt move one inch. Hell it seemed had sent this visitor.
Yeah? Well, not if I get you first! Sonic shouted, pouncing on him. He crashed into the ground, as this. Thing had seemingly moved out of the way instantly. GUHH!!! Sonic managed to say. He started to get up. Who are you? The stranger just stood there, not moving, except for a dull red glow that seemed to come from under the hood.
WHO AM I? He answered. His voice seemed to carry a menacing coldness with it.
WHO AM I? He seemed to ask, anger in the enraged, metallic voice.
I He began, as he seemed to rise into the air like an demonic ghost, his voice cutting through the wind.
.AM.. He continued, his eyes lighting up, as red a flame.
YOUR. He stared to power up a sphere that he was holding that looked.
.WORST he threw it at Sonic, the sphere exploding, sending him into unconsciousness. The last thing he heard was the word..
NIGHTMARE.
