i'll look at your art and comment on it when i've got the time, but i just wanted to mention that many people like to make their own threads for their art and that i'm not sure how many people draw SatAM art.

i'm not telling you off here, just informing you in case you get dissapointed.

That's OK. The best thing I can do is to encourage others to make brand new art.

Here's a couple of pictures a good friend of mine drew(Kaminyu). He likes to add a mixture of traditional SatAM style and anime-influence.

And they can be funny, too!

Here's a humorous one I made.

*prods you with her spork* another word of warning/advice. i don't mind a bit of double posting to add new pictures, but certainly not within the space of one day. use the edit button to add in the pictures if you haven't had a reply.

plus those of us with slower connections would find it hard to download so many images on one page. take pity on 'em and provide links to larger pictures if possible.

as for the pictures themselves, they're great! i like the picture comparing the change in your style over the years, it shows how you've improved. ^^

Great stuff! This is a pretty good excuse to see some SatAM fan art - I still prefer this continuity over the others, and it's neat to see people are still producing fan art and such based on it. And I've already wanted to see more actual fan art in this forum, so this suits me fine.

Your friend's artwork is a rather clean style, detailed yet not overworked. I especially like the Bunnie pic (Bunnie Rabbot fan here), as it shows how slightly disproportionate her robotic parts are and how they throw her off. I'm not entirely sure how accurate her groin area is though; the SatAM left it pretty ambiguous as to whether it was only her legs that were 'boticized or how much farther up it actually went, but the art is still well-done.

And of course the other pictures...it's nice to see the more classic version of Rotor from the SatAM, I thought he looked better/more like a walrus in that style.

That last one could be used for our local CJTails.

What ChibiBecca said of course, I'd definitely try to shift some of those bigger images (those last two in particular) down to smaller links so people with low bandwidth can enjoy the thread better.

I'd really like to see more fan art of this style, it'd be neat if other contributed here.

I never noticed that about his Bunnie. I'm pretty sure her lower torso is supposed to be colored like the upper torso(regardless of wether or not it is actually roboticized). I'll be sure to relay that message to him(if he doesn't see it here, first!).

As for the size of the pictures, I'll definitely try to size the bigger ones down. Unless sizing 'em down will cut out some of the artwork, in which case I'll relegate those to links.

Oh, also. I agree what you wrote about the 'style' of which Kaminyu drew Bunnie. Her limbs should remain large and floppy. This is what gives her such a 'rabbit' like appearance. I read a recent issue of the Sonic comic, and they drew it much thinner and more dynamic. I don't think that was the point of the original character designer, and it also takes away a bit from her character.

And since you're a Bunnie fan, here's a pic I drew of her and Antoine.

Wow. I must say that your art rocks, Chad. It's great to see another SatAM style artist. You have quite a bit of talent. My personal favorite pic is the one with Sonic, Knux, and Buttnik. XD I'll be sure to post some art later.

Nice pic there, and I could actually believe it! I think the pic's in reverse though, since her left arm is the one that should be roboticized. Nothing a pic flip wouldn't take care of though. 😛 I think something doesn't quite seem right about her flesh arm though, don't quite know what it is...something about the forearm and elbow. But otherwise very nice pic.

In the Archie comic, she was originally bigger in her mechanical parts, but apparently she had to make the decision whether to attempt deroboticization (which was super risky and would make her a normal person with no powers), to leave herself as is and die of some kind of poisoning, or to replace her robot limbs with cyborg parts. She chose the latter, and with the upgrade came the slimmer parts. Though in some respects I prefer the bulkier version, Archie did a good job of redesigning the character over time to make her look more cowgirlish in th more recent comics, and the slender limbs look better I think. I think the bulkier version better represents the curse and blessing that comes with the partial roboticization (she would be really beautiful if she didn't have those parts, but besides the enhanced strength that comes with the parts, she also is less self-centered because if it, IMO), but I also like the Bunnie gal in the scattered Archie comics I've gotten my hands onto (she busted through an entire ship once! That is so cool! Ahem.).

I guess I'm really a fan of most of the SatAM characters, but Bunnie's always been one of my faves.

VERY VERY good art. It seems like 'official' artwork used for stills. (imagines a SatAM cartoon with current art) It would be good.

And LMBO at the Tails pic. That is SO Ceej.

Heh, yeah, I've done a lot of really oddball Tails pictures(Some of them so weird, I probably couldn't post 'em on this PG-rated board).

I really like to leave plain colors often, rather than blending the colors to make the art look realistic. I think it gives the drawing a more cartoon-like appearance. And it looks appealing to the eye. At least it does my eye.

What kind of request do you have in mind?

Basically, I'm looking to update my story tears of blood. It might be on the secong page of this forum I htink. I was going to add peoples art and make the wholr thing better. I Had one idea. If you want more info just check out the openening chapters of tears of blood.

It's of the first time that Sonic (X style) and Sally SatAM style) hug. It takes place in the planning room. Sallys lying on the table with Sonic on top of her. She has her left hand stroking Sonic quills, her right arm around his back, the begiinings of tears in her eyes. Sonics gently stroking Sallys hair with his right hand while his left hand is around her neck. Their legs are half on half off the table. In the back ground is a load of computers mixed in with desks that look like they have been used as personal desks rather then work desks. They are hugging each other close but you can still see there faces.

I hope thats enough info. If you want more I'll be happy to tell you. And thanks again.

Ah...the 'classic' Robotnik. I have to say that his ability to look menacing is much greater than that of the new design.

I stopped drawing 'Eggman' a long time ago.

I still like the classic Eggman from the Genesis Sonics(I can draw some creeeepy Eggmans), but the Eggman from the Adventure games just looks silly to me.

Whoa, nice pictures. It's nice to see someone else using computers for the full effect, too many people submit penciled things...
Anyways, Chad, have you ever sent your work to an artist? Such as a SatAm one? If not, seriously consider it. I sent mine to Richard Elson (STC artist) and got a great reply. It really does give you motivation to continue, and their tips are gold.

I really miss the old SatAM style of Sonic. I can pour through tons of fanart and nobody draws the old Sonic anymore. Ooooh. I like this place.

Makes me want to do some more sonic based drawing actually, I really should. Accursed giant robots are beginning to take over my sketchpad...ah well, they can do battle with the superheroes and furries to see who wins.

Awesome scene there, Adamis! I really like that scene, looks like it could have been taken straight from the cartoon. Great working out that light effect as well as their expressions, and details are simple but there's enough to make the entire scene seem full without being overbearing. It feels like a complete scene.

Hmm... I kinda liked the pink-bodied black-ponytailed version of Sally. She was much cuter than she is now determined.

Wow, VERY impressive artwork there! I do believe you are the FIRST artist that I've run into that prefers to draw Ant in the Season 2 style. And for that, you have my respect.

Those are incredible. I can't draw to save my life. I can't draw to save my HAMSTER I'm so pathetic, I've never seen satAM because it doesn't air in my country, it never has. I've never even seen an archie comic, my country reeks.

I noticed what you were talking about, with her legs. So I rerendered them, and changed the proportioning a bit.
