there's one thing you can do that'll instantly improve the level of your art.
quit drawing on lined paper! ^.@; it really does distract from the image.
I never have any unlined paper. 😮 I just doodle and occasionally some of those doodles come out looking nice but they're stuck on notebook paper. 🙁
then carry printer paper (or a plain notebook) with you for doodling purposes. that's what i do. ^^;
I barely notice the lines ,but it wouldn't hurt to use printer paper. Great work. I wish I could draw!
Sonic gon' Wild. It was originally on lined paper so I tried to carbon-paper it onto printer paper and then tried to ink over it with a crappy pen and it turned the mouths and eyes to bluh. Oh well. It's Sonic turning super with Supes and Dark Sonic from Sonic X looming behind. comntz plz
Look what I found. o.o I drew these last year and found them in my stuff this morning. It's PC, the Biolizzy, and Neo Metal Sonic, this is quite possible the best I've ever drawn them.

Oh well.yes, i was about to comment on his two left hands. ^^; a common enough mistake to make.
i'll admit that i prefer this image in pencil, as the lineart becomes too jagged and a bit messy when you made it black to colour it. perhaps if you inked it with a pen before colouring?
The "pencil" version is inked, it just might not look like it because it's light and the inking is kinda jagged because of the uneveness of the ink from the pen, making me go over every line quite a few times to get it right. The pen's fine, I just need better paper.
really? then i'm sorry, the edges just looked a bit pixelated and jagged..like you'd scanned it in as black and white instead of full-colour.
Actually, I saved it as a 16-bit bmp in Paint and just got rid of all but the black, so that's basically what I did.
ah, that would explain it. ^^;

Looked at a video of the fight on youtube yesterday, and took a whack at a picture closer to the way he actually looks. Here it is. I watched it again today and I missed a few details. Ah whatever.

A little one I like to call, "Why Shadow Ditched His Past". If you look reeeal close at the memory bubble, you see a bunch of people in it. (Gerald, Eggman, Black Doom, Maria (I'm proud of that, I'm terrible at a female faces), Mephiles, Sonic, GUN Commander, and Emerl) It's kind of darkly funny; all of those memories would give one heck of a headache.

New Sonic picture here.
Made possible by a piece of graphite tracing paper I found. It let me transfer the finished drawing to another paper, while getting rid of all the guide lines I use to figure out the form I'm going for, which you can see in SX's head up there. *holds onto the paper for other works*
Wow, lots of awesome pictures there! Love Perfect Chaos and the Metal Sonics especially, but the others are cool as well. Emerl looks quite neat, too.
Maybe you should try not applying too much pressure on the pencil (maybe get a mechanical pencil?) or try using different paper, so the guide lines are not as visible/can be easily erased. =)

have you ever considered using a lightbox? they're amasing for helping you trace one picture onto clean paper. even if you get transparent plastic (or use a glass-topped table) and put a table-lamp underneath, it works the same way.
I used my window once for an Emerl picture. ^^ Does that count?

i've used my window a few times too, since i'm lacking a lightbox of my own. 😛
if you know anyone with wood-working skills, it'd be so easy to make you a little box with a clear hard-plastic cover, in which you can fit a lightbulb.
but little cheap lightboxes only cost about 10. most art supply shops should be able to get you one.
I got Riders for my birthday, so I was able to finish that pic of the Babylon Rogues. I'll scan it when I get home.
