How is this a big deal when EVERYONE in the chat was doing it and we were all BACK to chatting within 20 something minutes? If you take the whole thing out of the context it was in while it was being done then OF COURSE IT WAS SPAMMY. But was it spamming JUST to be spamming? Hardly. The chat was, at best, blah for a long while. Something happened where suddenly everybody started talking even if it was spammish and now its a bad thing. The only person or persons who left the chat or had a prob with it was you. And if anyone else had a problem with it nothing was said about it during or after at which point I would have justifiably stopped. If you'd said something to me there how do you know I wouldnt have just stopped at that point? hmm?

If its that big a deal then I just wont chat any more. I rear my head in there like once to liven up a dead chat and suddenly I'm the bad guy? Oh well. I never want my admin status to be something for preferential treatment since all I use it for anyway is to mod when I'm needed or to adjust my sig. I'm not an active admin and havent been for years. If I get in trouble for it then I get in trouble for it. I trust Kat or Vec to talk whenever so I wont say anything on hand since I'm the subject. I'm only a reserve admin anyway so its no skin off my teeth really.

Internet drama is really not that deep people. 😛

Dubsey, no offence, but I did ask for it to be stopped, you can see it in James' log. However, since nothing was done, I decided to leave to. I didnt make it Private Message else I would have had to do it to the entire chat practically. I guess during all the constant flooding though, it got overlooked.

Jaffa, in some respects, it is what the majority wants, however in this case, it is the equivalent of 20 or so minutes of flooding like spam. In this respects a breach of the rules and in this respects, as far as I believe, the rules are in command. Afterall, we did sign up to follow them when we came to the board.

Sillyness if fine in moderation, but this was too much as far as I can tell.

Call me a sourpuss if you want for my call, but its how I view it.

As far as I can tell, Cj, this kind of thing happens very rarely and failed to mortally wound anyone aside from (apparently) a couple people who went out of their way to talk about it in a forum used to alert staff when half the staff already knew about it and was involved.

Also, you could have used the "/broadcast" command. That would be useful for you to know about in the future.

First, I'm pretty sure mods and admins don't appreciate being called 'dictators', regardless of how you personally view them.

Secondly, don't be pissed when other people are having fun with something and you aren't. Not liking that chat at that moment? Leave.

Thirdly, the fact that this petty little non-event created a 'strike in your mind' against Dubs is ludicrious and shallow on your part.

Fourthly, don't run crying to the authorities if it is well within your power to talk to the person doing something you don't like. Nobody likes a tattle-tale, because tattle-tales defer too much when they can usually take the responsibility for themselves.

Fifthly, STOP ABUSING THE ELLIPSIS.

You have NO IDEA how things are decided in the Staff forum. The majority has a large input on decisions and always have, but in the end decisions come down to the lead admins - who are now Kat and Vec, which I am not. Dont assume you know things just because of what you see. Theres a big difference between being a dictator VS being a responsible webmaster.

If this board had "dictators" I nor MANY other people would be here as long as we have. If you think this board is a dictatorship then maybe this board is not the place for you AND/OR you dont really know this board as well as you thought you did.

Had I been online. My first response would have been the same as CJ. 5 minutes of that is plenty, then subtlely remind 'em not to overdo it. Of course I'd have already had jaffa on ignore because he was WAY over doing it.
