I have a complaint about Wonderbat, in the topic "the man show... coming to G4", in the gaming academy i posted that i never liked the show "screensavers" that was originally aired on TechTV which later changed to G4.
i was gifted by the response "if you can't recognize the brilliance of LEO than Go play in traffic. NOW.",
That's not just an insult, that's easily considered a flame.
this is the second time i've dealt with him. the first i couldn't care less about as it wasn't all that insulting but this one merrits a warning.
He's a brazen elitist pudgepop, yes, but others have said worse and gone unwarned. I don't see it qualifying for a warning, though I'm not 100% sure. Either way, I'll say this for you if it pleases:
Wonderbat, please keep your tactless and imprudent comments to yourself. =)))
The term "elitist" gets thrown around a lot here, and rarely in the proper usage. Just to set things straight, elitism is
the belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources. It has nothing to do with a playful comment about how awesome Leo is.
Yes, I often seriously tell people to commit suicide over Television shows on internet forums.
Bottom line?
Don't take everything so seriously,man.
Do I REALLY need to cover my ass with one of these
EVERY time I say something, esepecially if it's so obviously an off-the-cuff remark in jest?
I don't think you actually beleived I was telling you to kill yourself over your TV-watching preferences.
You really need to lIghten up (<=NOT A FLAME)
Before this breaks into a huge debate over the correct amount of centimeters included in the thickness of sliced bread and what Jimro's doing over the weekend, I'd like to point out that you should probably first take things more playfully than as deliberate personal attacks on the welfare of your life if you hope to get far in anything involving human activity. o.o
Anyone who cares to know probably knows my stance on these sort of things and also that it doesn't matter anyway. As always the specifics of this crapola is up to the admins. =O
Yatta yatta yatta pipe down 'till they get here.
i was gifted by the response "if you can't recognize the brilliance of LEO than Go play in traffic. NOW."
Gifted? o.o
That's not just an insult, that's easily considered a flame.
I have two responses to this one but the first would probably get me banned for overworking the censor. So here's the second:
This is a joke. Even to the dimmer ones I don't think this could easly be considered an insult. I'm sorry, but that's kinda stretching it.
He's a brazen elitist pudgepop, yes...
OMG u flamd
Actually, I find the guy somewhat reasonable. Certainly moreso than a few others on this board.
but others have said worse and gone unwarned.
Yes, yes they have. (Offensive)
Be sure you read what's said closely, easy to misread what's said in there.

Oh my GOD someone actually has at least part of a brain around here.
Yes, I often seriously tell people to commit suicide over Television shows on internet forums.
To be fair, there probably are people who would kill themselves like that.
Bottom line?
Don't take everything so seriously,man.

The P.C. crowd's got nuthin' on you.

Amen.
And my own comment: Please. This is rediculous. This was not spurred by any personal flamewar love or something. It's a slightly off-color comment. Okay?
Chill. Wonderbat is, like, station. Yaknow? Ain't meanin to step nothing.
I'd say more but I can't without flaming you.
Keep on rockin' and act sweet to others.
This is rediculous.
You're ridiculous.

Elitist. (shot)
Seriously though, you need to lighten up hypershadow. It's not like Wonderbat seriously wanted you to jump into the nearest 4-way intersection.
And even if he did, it's not like you felt like doing it.
And if you felt like doing it...then why are you still here? Leap away, oh purveyor of vehicular deaths.
Leap away, oh purveyor of vehicular deaths.
FLAME! BAN HIM!
Can the peanut gallery. Unless you have something to actually contribute to the situation, please do not post here.

No, not every time. But it helps and would've prevented this topic.
I'm still trying to get over my cold. My head's not in the mood for this. So, I'm going to just reiterate something concerning posting:
Everyone here has their own style in terms of expressing themselves. Unless the poster is using extremely blatant insults (i.e. "idiot," "stupid," "dolt," etc.), your first course of action is to talk to the poster via PM, email, or the board itself if you feel insulted. As mature people, make that first attempt to come to an understanding. IF that doesn't work, then come here to complain. Unless you're posting in a topic that gets very little mod/admin checking, blatant insults (the only ones that'll cause a warning) will be caught eventually without any need for notification. Do realize that everyone needs to not take things much too seriously as it won't kill you to relax. But at the same time, if you know someone is sensitive, tone it down as that won't kill you either.
Now go play nice or I'll start forcing everyone to watch Barney until we all learn to love each other. ;p
Angst.... cutcutcut.
There are times when people over react. It happens, especially to people that deal with idiots 24/7 like me. Hyper, ya need to calm down, breathe, and stop pulling a Har..*Shoot* I mean stop looking for things to get upset about. I'd have left the board long ago, as opposed to just thinking about it everytime angst hits, if I did that.
As Kat said take it to PM. Don't come running to mommy Lianne, she has a headache.
If they person is unwilling to talk to in PM. THEN you can either/both post in EVC or PM a mod/admin.
People are going to say things you don't like. Sometimes they hit a nerve, thats ok just try not to fire off at them TOO much. But sure as hell let them know that did so that, provided they aren't gall-bearing donkeys, they will refrain from doing it again.
If they don't, well, thats what lawsuits are for. After all, its the american pasttime.

But at least one person in this topic is Canadian. 😮
And at least one's British!
HELL YA!
...
It humors me that EVC topics are the ones that're most often steered off track and, in addittion, remain that way for the longest, too.
It happens once the silliness that started the topic is for the most part over. And it's always Cooki. Even if it's another forummer.
It's her.
I blame it on George Bush =O
It's his fault topics of seriousness turn to almost SPA material.
no, frankly i don't need to calm down.
my point was entirely missed and he got off scott free.
i love the justice system here.
You do need to calm dooooooown.
Everyone here has shown you a good point but you're totally ignoring it and insisting on getting your way. There is a great justice system here. It's great because it doesn't involve punishing someone just to shut someone else up. We heard you the first time and like TR said, it really wasn't needed to speak up at all. If something's out of hand we'll fix it.
You do this thing where you get insulted alot, Hyper. Do you honestly not see a pattern here? You need to start taking things less seriously. Noone is out to get you. We're all here to have fun, so please join in and do that.
Also, Wonderbat, like it was said before it would be wise to adjust your comments depending on your audiance if only to avoid things like this. Personally I think your take on things is awesome, but it's not compatable with every situation.
Lalala any questions?
Where's the beef?
Don't start nuttin', won't be nuttin'.
as tergonaut said, can the peanut gallery.
i don't take a lot of crap seriously around here and i don't normally complain when i feel insulted.
but when i do, nothings EVER done about it. EVER.
i can probably think of at least 10 other times forumers have pulled crap that would normally get them warned and they got away without one.
next time i will take it to PM.

As just about Everyone in this thread has said,
Get a thicker skin.
If nothing's done about a complaint you have, It's probably because your complaint is frivolous, as it is now.

Oh Yeah?
Name ONE time that someone should've gotten warned and nothing happened.
Put up or Shut up .
I asked Harley if she sold breastmilk and she tried to kill me. Does that count?

I've often heard that it tastes like SWEET SWEET CHOCOLATE!
.....
CHOCOLATE THATS BEEN LACED WITH POISON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In other words,
Other than that, I'm thinking this topic's outlived its usefulness.
