There's already 957598276439852649582634952639456 rules to keep track of here. And while I'm doing my best to tread lightly and not break any of them I'm finding that there are certain rules in which, there are exceptions which lead to an entirely different rule.
These rules include editing your topic in the section where we're requesting titles or posting a new topic in place of a topic that's already got the same subject for the sake of a Comic book review because of spoilers.
It makes my head spin because now I don't know if what I'm doing is the right thing or not? I'm all lost and confused...perhaps someone could sit down and explain the exceptions to the rules in certain situations like that...
In the CT thread, it's much easier for Lighthead to change your CT if you only have one post in the thread up until the next update - otherwise he'll end up having to change it twice, adding more work to an already time consuming task. It's easier on him if you either edit your newly wanted CT into the previous post, or if you forget to do so, edit the previous one to say that you've re-requested up ahead.
As for the comic thing, i have no idea. Don't really delve in such things, so I'm not entirely sure what it is you mean.
EDIT: ...and it turns out Lighthead already explained this in the CT thread. Mruu.
All "exceptions to rules" are either listed where appropriate or common knowledge. I don't think you'll be having any trouble if you go about your day normally and just follow any little tips you're given. ^.^
Just to explain why there are two topics for each comic in the Knothole forum:
The "preview" topic is usually posted by the first person to read the preview for an issue. It allows people to discuss the issue BEFORE they read it. In other words, they may speculate on what they believe the issue may be like.
The "spoiler" topic is usually posted by the first subscriber to get an issue. This topic is used to discuss the issue by people who have read it or people who don't mind being spoiled. The seperate "preview" topic still exists for the benefit of those who have not gotten the issue, because it has only been released to subscribers, and do not want to be spoiled.

Only problem is I have a little pet peeve when it comes to being wrong about something. I can't stand being wrong which is why I rather know ahead of time what the exceptions are before I do something stupid and get corrected. But yeah that's just me.
And I think I understand the entire point behind having the two topics in Knothole, but when someone posted the spoilers in the preview topic already...didn't it seem pointless to make a second topic?
Also, it's not fair on people who don't subscribe that want to write a review and make the first post...but meh...since when is life fair anyway? I'm just complaining about little tiny things that aren't important at this point.
Anyway, are there any other exceptions I should know about?
So is it just me that finds that almost all of these rules are common sense, and so are the exceptions? Also, I find the rules to be very lenient here.
If the rules were common sense, then we wouldn't be having people misunderstanding them, would we? And I'm not trying to sound condescending with that, please don't misunderstand how I'm saying that. But the wonderful part about being on a message board community like this one is that we are not out to make people break rules so that we can ban them. We are here to help people who want to become productive members of the community, or even mostly harmless members. If you have a question about a rule, we'll do our best to answer it. If we close a topic or move it, we try to make sure it's explained why it happened. If you break a rule unintentionally (by this I mean you didn't do it deliberately for the sake of breaking a rule), then we'll let you know and then you can be more wary about that in the future.
Honestly, anyone who's really intent on being a good member of the community will just try their best to be so, and not worry so much about the rules because they seem to fall into place as you respect the views and opinions of others while allowing your own voice to be heard.
Unless you're just online to be an ass, or are LOOKING for rules you can bend/break, this boards rules are some OF the most lenient around.

Then why act as if you think the rules being "common sense" should lead to less misinterpratations?
SILLY.
I live in denial, Acrio. You should know that one.
I dont live in denial at all. I live in Birmingham. Always have.
......what?
I didn't know you lived in Egypt, SX.
Birmingham, Alabama?

Also: That would be THE Nile, not DEnial. Also: do all religious folk have odd senses of humor? I mean, say summin raunchy!
No offense meant.
Silly SX! Denial is all over the US. :p
It's only a matter of which one you live on. :p
Silly WB! There are too many Birminghams in the US. ;P
There's no originality in place naming here. :p

Nah. But I was in some camp in Birmingham not very long ago.
Also, I don't think htis thread serves a purpose.
Knowing that, everyone could stop posting by way of their own free will.
LMAO Just kidding.

Yes, we would. See "common" sense is a misnomer. "Common" sense is very uncommon. See for yourself.
