Hi there,

I can't see a similar thread in EVC at the moment, so I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem. Several times, I've wanted to post something "lengthy", by which I mean more than, say, 3 or 4 paragraphs. The latest one I wanted to post was 10 paragraphs, 422 words (not including this one, which EZBoard is not accepting at the moment!).

When I click "add post", it takes ages for the page to update and when it eventually does, I get a "Cannot find server" error. If I refresh, EZBoard gives me an invalid domain message and encourages me to look for my board.

I find if I cut some of the paragraphs, the post will submit and upload immediately. Then, if I'm lucky, I can edit it and add one paragraph back and it will let me submit. Has anyone else had this problem? Do you have any suggestions as to what I could do about it (besides being less verbose, of course!)?

i think if u need to, u should double post. or more. untill it lets you post all of it. i think that is fair enough.

Fortunately, marky, you're not a mod.

I've posted much more than 10 paragraphs at once before... it's probably because I'm on Firefox, which remembers what the textbox had in it before you hit "Submit", and if it can't find the server, a dainty little dialog box pops up and tells you, without moving your page to that confounded "Cannot find server" page, so if it WERE to load, I could easily hit "submit" again.

But still, ezBread's not been giving me any problems lately, so...

What browser and connection speed do you use?

I don't think ezboard has an individual post size limit anymore--but I could be wrong about that.

I use IE 6 and have a 512k broadband connection. Yeah, IE forgets what you've posted when you press back, so I've learnt the hard way to copy text before I submit!

I'm pretty much assuming it's not a global EZB problem, mainly because Neo's entertaining Sonic X episode summaries are longer. I was just wondering if anyone else had come across it and whether there were any options to unclick.

Maybe if I posted plain text instead of ezCodes? Unclicked Convert URL links?

As you can imagine, it's pretty annoying.

At the moment, I can't think of anything because I doubt you'd be so unlucky to always be posting when ezboard is having speed issues. **scratches head**

I agree, it is puzzling. My only suggestion is to continue to try different things, and see what works. You've made a lot of progress by copying before posting, and editing it into your original post in smaller chunks.

It occurs to me, maybe multi-tasking has something to do with it? If you're the sort of person who does multiple things upon the Internet, or even with the computer in general, that would be something to look into. Especially if you download things frequently while posting.

If not, then I think I'm out of suggestions, too.

Well, I have an old laptop (162 RAM) that's slow at the best of times. I tried snoozing the Human Genome Project which it's running, but that hasn't worked either.

It's weird, I can post epics at other boards. Grrr.

Well, thanks anyway guys!
