Okay, first off, your two quotes were very very separate from each other - you only said you weren't serious well after you'd attracted everyone's attention with your first remark, which was in reply to Stairmaster's question of what good games were there for the Wii.

Second off, the same with the other remarks - they were dispersed, not in a little cluster like that.

To me, your remark of "nonexistant" is purely opinion and potentially flamebait, especially since we have a lot of chat people who are overzealous discussing the pros and cons of consoles. Their remarks were also inappropriate. In other words I'm putting y'all in the same league.

If you don't like a particular console, just say it like this: "I don't like that console for X reasons." By saying it like that, then you provide reasons for why you don't like the console, and avoid the appearance of merely flaming or flamebaiting. You also give a better platform for more productive discussion. Make sure the reasons are legitimate ones, like actual performance issues, instead of saying "I don't like that console because IT SUCKS" or similar non-reasons.

Now stop making yourself look completely innocent while casting them as the bad guys, please - I saw this just now in the chat myself and you and they were just as bad about this. I gagged you because AFTER I told you to stop (I told the others to stop as well), you attempted to get in another "last word" while slipping in another minor flame about consoles.

I don't know why the console thing keeps cropping up actually. The reasons have been run over x amount of times between both sides of the argument and I think we all know each others opinions, why they have those, and that they're set in stone because we're all hardheaded bastards.

I did give a reason, a lack of interesting choice (which by default is an opinion. Come on now. Any sort of thought about art and media is opinion because it's a matter of taste. This is called "continuing to bring it up after a Mod told you to knock it off." The point of me telling you to stop arguing about consoles was NOT so you could continue arguing about it in EVC.

SX, stop twisting my words around. I handled the situation as I saw fit, and I'm not going to change my mind about it. Not that it matters at this point anyway. You didn't have to "answer" Stair's question in the first place, and Creo posting the quote he did doubly proves the point that you weren't innocent in this debacle.

But if anyone else said that about a PS3's selection of games, I would be on it just as much. Maybe you have the opinion that I am somehow protecting everyone else's preferences, but in reality I would do the same for other console situations.

EDIT: And sarcasm isn't always easy to detect as sarcasm, especially in a heated situation where there are a lot of comments being made in a negative light. Sarcasm is NOT the way to respond when a Mod tells you to stop doing something or to stop talking about something, which the Mod does to prevent hurt feelings and continued pointless argument.

Is this going anywhere? I'm considering locking this thread, really. All I can see as happening is console discussion happened for the fiftieth time today, Terg came in and gave both SX and Deck a comparitively neglible gag, and now we have a thread for it pushing a page where we're now pointing fingers at each other. Really, unless someone can tell me in the next few posts why this should be here, I'm gonna shut it down.

Well, it isn't the punishment that's got me upset, it's the fact that maybe 20% or less of those that broke any rules got punished (and frankly, I don't feel I broke any rule, but that's opinion) while people that did nothing BUT flame didn't. Anyway, I didn't intend to respond to Hiro's last line immediately anyway, so don't worry about another fight. I'm already frustrated by the whole of this week for irl issues, debating not bothering with the chat because of all the hostility doesn't help very much. Just leave it open if you insist on letting my other complaint (post before last) slide; I was putting that for someone else, anyway. Not that I expect the staff to keep their word on punishment, quite honestly ya'llve made me very pessimistic atm.

Okay, I lied, I will reply: Hiro: There is no context needed. That's flaming no matter what the context is, and I hope to God Terg might actually keep his word for once today and stop flaming like he claims his intentions to be. I don't LIKE going into a room to take a log (actually, I /backed out of habit and did not intend to) and seeing you talking even WORSE behind my back. I don't feel it's necessary, that it accomplishes anything, and if I'm going to get punished (still opinion: wrongly) for an offense "fairly;" I think it should be fairly dealt with for others.

This topic is stupid. A few people in the chat (including me) said some silly @#%$ about video games that we don't like, and Terg gagged SX and I for a few minutes because he has no sense of humor or sarcasm. There's really nothing more to this. Lock it, Wes.

I got all I wanted from Terg. Lock it if you feel a request for Hiro's other stuff to be looked into is best put in another thread or offboard (this has already been done, pending reply in an hour or two). I consider the debate about this over. If anyone still wants to say anything to me, I'm not going to complain about things said to me in IM.
