New (3.20.05) - No more popularity polls amongst forumers. There's a reason why we stopped doing the Chocolate Chicken Awards. The only exception to this are MF icons like LNR, FexusFan, PiE, Bouncing Chicken... etc

Does this mean I can't do a user tourney on SPA? I was thinking of making one but I saw this little note (Yes, I know it's been up there a while).

It depends on what it is. A "tourney" can be a lot of things. You'll have to give a few more details.

Like a tournament. Basically, when the tournament would be set up (if allowed) users would vote on which user they would like to see advance to the next round. This would go on until there would be only two users. The one with the most votes then would be the "champ".

If it were up to me, yes, you could NOT do that.

Nope, that's what's being avoided, Aeva.

What TR said. We've had issues before with this type of thing. Some would feel insecure when we had any form of a "popularity contest" amongst forum users. This was especially the case with the Chocolate Chicken Awards, an award thing we used to do at the end of the year, which only happened twice. I even got in trouble when it was done the second time. o.o

Bah, why beat around the bush? We're a forum of insecure, attention starved, emotionally sensitive netizens and any form of attention that one member gets that another doesn't makes the rest "a sad panda".

Besides, popularity contests suck anyway. :p

Is winning an award showing your dedication to an online message board, showing that you have no social life actually a good thing?

Can we have polls on people we hate the most? =D

We have them all the time. They usually take place in staff... but just not in poll format. 😛

There is a difference between indifference and hatred. Hatred would require conscious effort to think about that person.

Depends, if you hated them enough then it might be an subconcious effort to think about them, leaving you with a concious effort not to think about them.

...I think *goes cross-eyed*
