...and I wonder if I may be able to get a suggestion as to what? Sorry, I know it's trivial, but I know zip about computers

I figured out how to get it up, but does anyone have an idea how to adjust it so it isn't squished sideways? The normal pic isn't, it's a rectangle not a square.
Fyi in case it's relevant, I'm using Photobucket.
Thanks, and sorry agin.

With EZboard, you not only need to give the URL for your pic, but you need to get the exact dimensions of the pic (that is, width and height, in pixels) and plug those in as well.
I don't remember but I think it specifically HAS to be width first and then height. Also, when you plug it in, I think you have to add "" marks onto both width and height, like so:
EZboard will automatically remove the quotation marks. But if it doesn't work at first using the quotation marks, try it without them but still plug in width and height as shown. Use the ACTUAL dimensions of your pic - you have to look at the original pic and right-click "Properties" or look at it with an image viewing program to determine this.
I hope this is of some help.
EDIT: or what Shadow Hog said, I think that'll do it.
Toss "width=76 height=59" at the end of what's already in that area for your avatar - don't modify anything otherwise. Should unstretch itself for you.

Alrighty! Thanks again for the help ">
