Uh, in case anyone wants to hear from someone who was there - Chat wasn't acting odd or anything, it was pretty much out of the blue. It simply stopped working as if the server broke, and when you tried to relogin, you'd get the Sonic bacground and nothing else, as ya'll probably saw yourselves.
