Kinda. She can redeem herself, but there'd be no point to her character after that, and she'd pretty much become background filler, like Mina. That said, she can redeem herself, THEN die, not necessarily just die and be done with.
I could see it working if she redeemed herself, but then got stuck in the middle because neither the villains nor the heroes trusted or wanted her after she'd burned so many bridges.
Let her decide to go roaming around Mobius do-gooding as atonement, in the same way that Elias ran off. It doesn't write her out and she may swing either way again, but it leaves it totally up to the writers rather than circumstances as to when and if she's seen again.
Will she have a whistle and a scarf, too?
If I had the first clue about the Megaman continuity, I'm assuming that that'd mean something? 🙂
Whenever Protoman makes his entrance, a whistling chime plays in, and the scarf is just awesome. And the way you described how Fiona should be handled was very similar to how Proto is.
9. Vanishes for several story arches, then reappears as a good guy haven't woken up.
Or, y'know? She could just keep on being a villain, she's cooler that way.
She's like the anti-Shadow... a goodguy gone badguy vs. a badguy gone goodguy.
I'm not sure if that makes a bit of difference, though.
And Psx's Protoman analogy was very, very apt. Well played, good sir, well played.
Personally, I don't think Fiona should be brought back to the side of good. I mean, the Archie comics have a serious lack of bad girl at the moment, which has been a problem from day one. Were she to be brought back to the good side, which I hope doesn't happen, I could probably see her doing it for the same reason Rouge did:
7. She realizes that Finitevus and his crew are beyond the level of evil she wants to be associated with (except for Scourge, of course) and leaves them to be a bounty hunter with Nic again, possibly with good old Scourge in tow.

I'm trying to figure out which of those you're suggesting that Shadow is. Because he's not really either. He's just sort or confused. Same for Fiona really. And, you know, Robotnik.
Shadow, I think, goes on whatever side he's in the mood for.
Shadow's bisexual?
Well, that's not what I was going for, but it's possible. Heaven knows he's got enough issues about who and what he is.
11. She got knocked back to Anti-Mobius with Scourge, and is forced to behold Evil's real face. Thus waking her up at long last.
She'd probobly like it there, since she chooses to be bad and all.
Oh my god can this thread die already.
If you feel so strongly, it'd die a lot quicker without you... ummm... posting in it, wouldn't it?
Nope, because it'll do what it's done so far and disappear for a week then come back when Alex posts something like "12. Finds a flower and is overcome by its beauty and blossoms into an never-ending source of love and happiness and marries Sonic and has a million babies with him and lives happily ever after", at which point we all say "no" and the thread disappears for another week. Rinse, wash, repeat.
But still - if you don't like the topic, just leave it alone for the people who obviously do want to post in it, or else 'phone the police and have them deal with the person holding the gun to your head and forcing you to repeatedly come back and read a thread that you don't like.
You're right, Sam. I still think this whole thread is pretty pointless, but apologies for the irrationality.
Is this topic a list? If so...
xx.) She gets brainwashed by one of the other three parties.
xx + 1.) She reveals that she got bribed by the bad guys.
xx + 2.) She gets un-brainwashed by another of the other three parties
xx + 3.) She reveals her plans to Sonic or Tails
Ironically, MattManiac had the best idea.
Oh what the hell? "Maybe she'd get knocked back to the Anti-Mobius and see Scourge's face for what it really is and she'd get sense knocked into her".
Fiona WANTS to be evil. It's not like she's suffering from amnesia. Evil villains in kids comics for the most part choose to be evil. And Fiona has chosen to be a bad nut. She likes it. We like it. Therefor we are happy.
Besides, we have enough heroes. The last thing we need is to lose an interesting villain with questionable motives simply so a thousand slash fans can have a new pairing.
The Sonic fandom has some of the lamest ideals ever.
Fiona's interesting? I must've missed the memo.
She is, when handled correctly and not just used to tick off the readers. I like how she's one of those villain's who's not exactly evil, just totally self centered. makes for compelling motives, as opposed to Muahahaha-rubbing-hands-gleefully-plotting-to-take-over-Mobius evil.
What he said. I prefer villains with a bit more motivation than "I'm taking over the world because it's there", and a bit of ambiguity.
Fiona's got motives and reasons for what she does, and a character and backstory that could go somewhere with the right writer. Plus, she's also the first time we've had a character with real, intimate knowledge of Sonic switch sides.
If she doesn't get relegated to just being Scourge's arm candy - and if someone remembers that she's more mercenary than pure evil (which is something that I'd like to see come up as far as her working with Scourge goes, since we already saw in that scene with Scourge, Fiona and Fin that Scourge is too locked into his instinctive villain mindset to pay attention to much outside of it) - she's got plenty of potential.
We've come full circle.
I can totally see her feeling short-changed out of a normal childhood (well, as normal as you can get living under the shadow of a madman) because of the "incident" that got her captured by Robotnik years back, which also birthed a deep-seeded disgust with Sonic in general. Her time with Nic the Weasel may have enamored her with the life of a mercernary, i.e. someone who plays by their own rules and isn't dependant on others for support.
I was disturbed when she appeared in Knothole as one of the "good guys" because it seemed contradictory to what was established before, and even moreso when she and Sonic struck up a relationship. One can try to reason that the "mad" Fiona was merely a phase, that she was trying to better herself by joining the Knothole resistance (the only person she'd have more of a disgust towards other than Sonic would be Eggman, no doubt) and fighting the good fight.
And then Scourge appeared and she opted to be the bad girl. Seduced by power? Or was she just being true to her real nature? Maybe she intended to hurt Sonic from the very beginning and Scourge provided the right opportunity. In any case, she's definitely bad now and with intimate knowledge of the Freedom Fighters, can be a real big nuisance if handled in the right way.
13. Fiona ends up on Other-M Mobius and gets hard slap in the face (literially) from a GOOD version of herself.
Hey, it worked for the tyranical (and overweight) King anti-Sonic from SU.
Other-M Mobius? That's fanfiction! Even if Potto did write it, you're reaching way too far. XD
However, I think the latest issue offered an opening for redemption...Fiona obviously doesn't like Robotnik, and her current employer, Fin, is (or was) in league with Robotnik. If that's still a factor, and Fiona found out, I imagine she'd split.
But of course, that doesn't even necessitate that she relents...just means she might go elsewhere. It's a question of what Scourge does, I suppose, as well as what condition either is in after meeting Enerjak (who may very well harbor a strong disdain for his best friend's backstabber, not to mention the guy who shot up on chaos energy and beat up his dad).

14 - The good guy's give her a big sack of money?
If that worked, wouldn't they have tried that on Rouge?
Technically Rouge isn't evil. Just selfish.

If only it were that simple. Money don't buy the thrills she's looking for, though. Maybe if they hid it and forced her to search for it... XD
Rouge and Fiona are very much different. Rouge is a spy, and a bit of a thief. But she's kind natured.
Fiona's just a cheating, lying scumbag out for herself.
I'd call her something else, but I'd get a warning if I did.
Ah ha ha, take it easy guys. It's not like she went and double-crossed you, right? Tore out your still-beating heart and stomped all over it, amirite?
...
But... someone else did, didn't they? *nods* I see, Sonic's not the only one who's hurting 'round here. Shhh, it's okay. It's okay. I'm here for you. You can let it all out, I've got you. There there...
*sobs into Psx's shoulder*
15. She's 'purified' by one of the chaos emeralds.
Since when do Chaos Emeralds "Purify" someone? It might invert her coloring but not anything else.
Having seen the first pages of 183, I'm making one last comment here (unless I'm proven wrong)...she's not going to be redeemed through divine intervention. If she chooses to turn back, it will be by her decision. The focus should really be on why she makes that decision.

Ding ding ding! We have a winner.
I retract my previous statement to make one last response to WB...
YAAAAAAAAAAY!!! 😛
...We now return you to your regularly-scheduled realm of abnormality.
16. Could go the cliche rout (how many routs aren't?) and have her get hit on the head and forget to be evil.
17. Fiona is visited by the Ghosts of Comic Past (Penders & Bollers both pushing each other out of the way), Comic Present (Ian) and Comic Yet To Come (a sinister silent Sega executive).
18. "It wasn't me, it was my Anti-Mobius version wearing an eyepatch who had impersonated me really well for the last 35 issues!"
19. Enerjakles punches reality.

Somebody should so write a fic based on that idea.
