Well I got the issue. All I can say is that sonic and sally are surrounded by complete idiots,where does Max get off calling Sonic a commoner after the guy has been saving the planet for decades And tails would know that fiona is too old for him and I don't think anyone is okay with a sonicxfiona thing. Ant is probaly the only guy with intelllegance in the issue. but after that rant We see that sally is having a conflict here She either has to talk to sonic and be on equal terms at least.or marry ant who will be abuse the power. sonic was reffering to tails as the only guy who can help. so we see a pretty good romance issue and Anti-ants evil subplot
I don't see how Tails can help. Sonic can do almost anything Tails can do physically, and more, except flying. That's why it would be more logical for Sonic to go after someone like Zonic, who can zap people between worlds. Then, again, Sonic doesn't even know that "King Antoine" is the Anti-Antoine, so it wouldn't make sense for him to go for Zonic, either.
I just have to wait for issue #156 to find out! =D

If you are not royalty or part of the nobility, you are a commoner. Since neither of Sonic's parents nor his Uncle Chuck are nobles (and we all know they aren't royalty), Sonic is a commoner. Antoine's family is part of the nobility and I believe Tails' parents are part of the nobility as well--but that I don't remember for certain.

Yes Tails father and uncle are but I'm not sure about his mother she could be though witch does give Tails all the more rights to marry Sally then Ant or Sonic do.

Today I finally puchused Star Wars III, and by watching it again, one of the comprasions at see at the end of the movie is Ankin telling Obi-won, he hates him, and for some reason I see almost a comprasion, if not simalar situation at the start of 155 when Tails says the Same thing to Sonic.
Of Course this is just a comprasion I thought of, off the top of my head.
Being knighted wouldn't make someone part of the nobility from what has been shown in the comic. It would give someone just a slightly higher status than commoner. Sonic's had his revoked a long time ago. Geoff...I mean Elias did that. ;p

Story:
AT LAST a (very) good story !! Maybe one of the best Penders ? (no ? oh, right.) He FINALLY found something... to TELL. How ? With the basis of a story: a conflict. The new Triangle Sonic/Fiona/Tails is launched and linked with all the other (and interesting) subjects: Evil Antoine, Sally, the Kingdom. There's now a problem whose we're waiting the resolution. Who'd say it was the case before ? The story was stopped since #134. 9/10

Style as good as usual but closer to a Jon Gray for facial expressions: James Fry is not in my Top-3 best Archie pencilers but 5th... Or 4th... He brings energy to the story and remedies the inexpressiveness of a Lim. We feel we're back in the "glorious" Archie story... Let's say around #75-105. 10/10

Flashback ! Welcome in 1995. All is the same. Art Mawhinney draws, Swatbots terrorize the little, country world of Mobius and roboticize every moving being. What ? What effects ? Damn ! Photoshop betrayed our storytellers. It's the only change (8/10). The story ? Classic but efficient (8/10) ! We all know what will happen: good guys will be saved, the bad guy will be defeated... But... Hey...
I thought that Jules Hedgehog was the only Robian left ?!
What happened to (former) Dulcy's friends ? Ahaa ! To be continued next month !

I wasn't sure of it as I haven't been able to get the comic in a long time. And while it's not a status of nobility, it still seems like a bit of an arrogant stretch. =P
Sonic's knighthood was revoked in issue nintey-...uh... nintey-four? I've managed to screw up issue numbers a lot lately...

I think he will. The line "we don't know how long he'll be in a coma" made me wonder.
If he is in a coma past issue #156, I'd expect him to wake up around #160, after the Shadow trilogy. What are your guesses?

Why is Sonic not? Look at 125, 64-66 and 133 for a few.

I don't think Max calling Sonic a "commoner" was that big a deal. Commoner is an accurate (albeit tactless) description of Sonic's status. People has already pointed out the class structure on Mobius and explained why it's more socially acceptable for Sally to marry Ant (instead of Sonic). I'll just add that Max wasn't feeling well when he made the remark, and it's a good idea to take anything a sick person says with a grain of salt.
Why, why does Archie want me to hate Sonic? WHY?! And I almost know for a fact that they're only going to screw it up more...

Thank you, Miss Puar, I was thinking the same thing about Max calling Sonic a commoner; not only was Max sick but he was sick because he was drugged/poisoned and no telling what that stuff did to his mind.
And, Red, about Ant being nobility because his dad was a high ranking general, well, that would fit Sonic, seeing as how Uncle Chuck held the position of Royal Scientist at one time, is a knight, and in addition to that, we can't be certain that Bernie and Jules were just commoner soliders, they may have/do held/hold a higher position then what we are aware of.

They've had plenty of time to say if Bernie or Jules were anything more than your regular soldiers. The comic has consistently gone with "Sonic is a commoner"-thing, so there's no reason to believe that his parents were anything more than your average soldiers, much like Bunnie, Hershey, Fiona, etc. would be considered now. As it is, I don't think Uncle Chuck was that high in terms of importance either and still would've been much below Antoine's father, Geoffrey's father, and possibly even Tails' father--the only one I'm not certain about. Most the importance Uncle Chuck once had would've been lost since he left after the whole "Jules losing his freewill" though he has gained some back during the past year it seems (not enough to carry over to Sonic).
I know I probably shouldn't be thinking this way, but I think what Dan said about having a massacre in the next issue might be good idea, with Anti-Antione not surviving. Not just because I want Sally out of her current situation as soon as possible, I think it might be a good way for the truth to get out that it is Anti-Antione, then they can try to find the real one.
DC, how'd you get a hold of Dan's review? I've tried his site, but it doesn't show up...i don't know his homepage's address, so I just change the issue numbers...
I recently read #155 and I think my title explains it all. I nearly had a what the heck?!
reaction to seeing Sonic with Fionna. If this really was Sonic trying to fend off a love sick female, then Archie REALLY needs to fill that plot hole fast.
Other than that, though, I thought the drama was pretty darn good, if not kind of recycled. I'm going to enjoy seeing what goes down next issue!

I have read your review Dan, entertaining and insightful as always. So you are basically saying that the main story was too emotional, right? Reading your review, it makes the story seem almost comicial. Assuming this eventually works out well,like I am hoping it will, I am probably going to end up looking back on this story and laugh, and wonder why I was so worried.
I'm not saying that "Line of Succession: Part 1" was TOO emotional so much as its emotions were SO over the top that none of them rang true. The overplaying degenerated into melodrama and you couldn't take any of it seriously at some point -- that point came for me when Tails flipped into Drama Queen mode. "SONIC, I 
YOU!!!"
The result, I fear, is that no matter what Ken Penders does in Part 2 to try and resolve this mess it'll end up feeling like one more cheap trick in a book that's seen more than its share of them. Either that, or else Ken will pull some outrageous stunt which the comic will then forget all about for the next 18 months while they carry on with something else.

Read your review Dan and the scene with Sonic and Fiona, you said that could be anti Sonic, and i could agree with you. because all that scene Sonic did'nt have any buckles.
I think James Fry is a very good artist and would not left that out accidently.
What's wrong with Tails' reaction ? I think it's normal. You know what a valve is ? When you're a child, I guess you have reactions like these. Disproportionate.
