Toby and HS, and anyone else tired of the Sega arguments: If Erinaceus is bothering you that much, why not just not get into the argument and keep the posts going?

unless we can initiate a forum-wide boycott on erinaceaus then it won't happen. i've been trying to stay out of those topics honestly i have, but when every freaking topic gets turned into "I HATE SEGA!" then i get pretty annoyed. even when the conversation has nothing to do with sega, it turns into a sega topic due to erinaceaus' CONSTANT complaining. i'm trying to get him to knock it off but as you can plainly see with me trying to stop it in this topic that it didn't work and he kept complaining and spamming the topic with off topic disscussions.

it's BW with his videos all over again, but in a different context.

Oh, now you're going to try to ban/ignore lil' ol' me? Just for speaking my mind? Some people just need to get a sense of humor...

no it's your problem. this is what i was trying to prevent in the first place. you whine about sega ALL THE FRIGGIN TIME and when i first said shadow because he was a sega character, i knew i was going to get a response like "well SEGA screwed him up" from you, hence why i said don't even start, but you did anyway just because you felt like we should listen to your excessant whining.

And I feel it's worth pointing out that had you not tacked on the (Erinaceus...don't even start) comment, I probably wouldn't have even made an issue out of his Sega-made stories in the first place. Archie has opened a few interesting plotlines for him, without borrowing anything from Sega. (For example...I'd kinda like to know what he was up to in that year Sonic was away, and I'd like to find out what he does when he's not spying on Hope, or his whereabouts during Eggman's recent raid. He has his own odyssey to venture into, and I'd like to join him.) But no, you just had to tack on the statement. Being the outspoken critic I am, I had to take the bait and say "Well Sega's screwed him...but Archie still can make something of him..."

it turns into a sega topic due to erinaceaus' CONSTANT complaining.

Oh, I don't constantly complain...and it seems more like you're the complainer now. When I made the "Sega's screwed him..." comment, I was more making a joke about Sega's writing capabilities than complaining about them. Sega makes games. Archie makes stories. Sega may not need to create very compelling narritives yet (but they try to, and botch it), but to make a Shadow mini-series successful, Archie would certainly have to. And Ian's pointed out that Sega of America is pretty lenient in that regard. They can create a Shadow comic without overly heavy ties to SA2, Heroes, Shadow, Battle, and 2006.

Rargh...Sega sucks...rargh...:fist

you're not going to be banned for anything. i'm saying that you find a way to turn every topic into a " i hate sega topic" instead of talking about what's actually going on.

so i'm going to ask you as nice as i possibly can.

Would you please stop doing it?

Nobody mentioned banning you or anyone else (ignoring, of course, isn't my decision). Please don't put words in my mouth - if I wanted to put my foot down hard, believe me, you'd know.

All that I'm asking is that ALL of you please change the record. It's not as though the rest of the forum doesn't know how you feel or what you're going to say, and you're not going to achieve any miraculous conversions by simply repeating things in the hope that the other party will suddenly change their mind.

This is derailing multiple topics for other people in this forum who actually want to discuss the comics, which isn't fair on them.

Again, I'm not waving warnings around at the moment because (believe it or not) I don't like doing that - especially when I don't see any sort of malice involved.

But this is detracting from the actual business of the forum, and I don't want to have to talk to the Co-webs about another embargo.

I know no one's going to ban me...I'm not a big enough a@@hole to cross that line.

But I can be uh, persistant...

If Shadow were to get the right kind of writing staff behind him, then I'd be all for him getting his own mini-series. If not him, then maybe Amy, who's regrettably never played a very prominant role in StH.

Oh, and by the way, Sega's stories suck....:read

I am possibly the HUGEST fan of Shadow, but I don't think that he should have his own series. A miniseries, perhaps, but half of his charm is that he is always disappearing on us. Nobody ever really knows what he's up to, and a series would detract majorly from that. Besides, everything that it could possibly be about is either resolved or crap. He's found Prof. Gerald's diary (FINALLY!!), and I don't think reviving Maria would be a good idea. She's cool and all, despite how much she looks like Alice in Wonderland. If Shadow had never known her, Mobius would, in all probability, be finito by now. But the other half of Shadow's charm is how much he misses her, and how moody that makes him. Bringing her back would ruin that, Shadow would have nothing going for him, and I would not be able to live with that. Last, the Black Arms are too good to leave out of the regular comics, and when they show up, I want to see some major damage done. A miniseries wouldn't be enough. Speaking of the Black Arms, any one ever noticed that since Shadow was created from Black Doom's DNA, it makes him the son of a demon lord? Another cool point.

Hey don't think I've seen you around. Welcome. I've heard a few people comment on Shadow being demon spawn at one time or 'nother but you're the first to mention Maria = Alice In Wonderland. I always thought that while her personality was nice, the design was dull as if I'd seen it before but couldn't place it til now.
Mini-series have been a mixed bag. The Sally one bored me-- body switching, and a supporting cast of bland minor characters whose designs did not quite mesh with the series. (Still think Arlo shoulda looked more like Mighty) Considering how little the real Sal was in the 3-parter I think calling it a Geoffrey mini woulda been more acurate, but sell less.
With good writing and art, a new plot not tethered to a game, imposing villian, and a focus on the title character not their new, unknown co-stars, Shadow mini could be a worthwhile read. Given the track record, this time I would read it instore first.

They wouldn't revive Maria anyway. That's not something that would make sense. Besides, we've already got "Maria" in a current living character: Hope.
