I can't really remember Arlo's design, I'm sure if I picked up an old comic, I could find it, but I can't be bothered.

But, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to change his design if necessary, you know, to keep their species design consistent within the comic.

I'd keep the current design not to cause confusion when he appears in the Archives. If a change is in order, I'd have a data file with both designs. If we had to redo the entire series, I'm in more favor of using the Mighty design.

I think that changing Arlo's design would be the best form of action. I really don't think any big event would be necessary (I don't think that it was necessary to make a big deal out of it for Sonic/Amy/Eggman either).

I think that it's a shame that Arlo has been pretty much left out of the comic for so long, as he used to be one of the standard extras to use. Now I feel like he's not getting any screen time only because no one wants to touch the whole design issue.

I say, just change him and say that how it is. I mean, none of the characters look exactly like they did in the early issues, so why exclude poor Arlo from everything (I mean, look at Bill the Platypus. The general platypus design has changed drastically MANY times, but it's not like people are screaming "CONTINUITY ERRORRR!!!")

As curious as I am to see Arlo redesigned to look like Mighty, I would still say no - just because they're armadillos, doesn't mean they have to look similar to each other. You could be making the same argument for Penelope and Bill, except one of them isn't a Sega character. And I gotta say, as someone who was reading the comics when they were introduced, it'd be a little jarring to see him changed so suddenly.

That being said, Hamlin and Dylan looked nothing like their original designs in #180, so...

eh, i know Arlo isn't a well known character anymore, but i think there are enough fans who've been around since the beginning and it would just be too much of a curve ball if Arlo suddenly looked different. I'd keep him the same regardless

Change 'im. What from when he did see him-when Princess Sally Mini Series? What 9 years ago? What green body and shell sometimes, sometimes body was colored fleshy..you could just draw teh shell a bit more open like Mighty and give him skinnier arms. Just say he hit puberty.

Arlo's mom: Son, you're going though changes. You'll be getting..bigger in some areas...and smaller in others..

Arlo's dad: Yes. Don't worry though. It won't hurt. You just might see gaps..here and there for a while.

Arlo: I don't WANNA change! I like my close to body carapace!

The Choatix have been having plenty of down time, right? So whose to say Mighty and Arlo haven't met and started hanging out... perhaps Arlo has been working out with Mighty and has gotten rather buff himself... could even be that Ray and Arlo are old buddies from WAAAAAY back and Ray introduces them to each other, figuring that since they are both the same species they would hit it off. You could also use it as an excuse as to why Arlo didn't run for council, since he would rather wait for a chance to join an active team like the frontline FF's or the Chaotix. The only thing it wouldn't explain is why Ray has a tendency to make friends with Armadillos, but that would be a fun mystery to never solve!

It's perfect too, because he'll be there if you want him, and easy to off-panel if you don't. Also, since he is green and shelled, he could fill in the gap left by that wrteched and horrible Tommy Turtle that I am still grateful that you destroyed. Anyhow, hope you read this and hope it helps.

BTW, one last thing... bringing up Arlo makes me pine again for the days of Mini-Series and Stand Alone Specials... any chance we will ever see another?
