There has been more then one Transformers cameo in the comic in it's history.

i'm pretty sure that one of the writers was a Transformers fan. (needless to say.) but i believe in one issue sonic was reading a transformers comic.

They might be Transformer fans, but also it could be a nod on how archie used to do the old Transformers Comic.

I know it was Marvel who worked on the Transformers comics.
