You know this sounds a little familar, now althought this came out years later, I remember watching a Gargoyles epsiode where Gorlaith went back in time to help a friend whom he didn't realize he had helped until the end of the epsiode, cause at the start we saw a statue of him created after WWII and then he is accused for aobanding during the war, and well you get the idea.
So now if you look at Blast to the Past, maybe Sonic and Sally didn't realize they help their younger selves , etc, cause they were only 5yrs old and and sometimes when you get older, you intend to forget things you saw as a kid.
You'll see that the storyline may have gone in that direction too
but like I said, perhaps the reason the current Sally and Sonic don't/didn't remember at the time was because they were too young to remember who saved them or mainly what they looked like, just possibly the names they used
If you're referring to the TV series, it's just a paradox, since they were creating events as they went.
If you werereferring to the comic, it's based on the TV series, not a continuation. There's no evidence that most of the events of the series even happened in the Archie continuity, and that arc could be one of the things that didn't.
If they didn't realize they helped their younger selves when they get back to the present, how would you explain Sally knowing about Rose being there the whole time? The past versions of Sonic and Sally didn't even see her being coerced into going by present Sally, yet she knew she was always in Knothole.
But she didn't always know. The reason the "older" Sally knew Rosie was in Knothole was because she had just convinced Rosie to never leave Knothole and hoped that Rosie would do as she promised. If you noticed, the "older" Sonic didn't know that Rosie was in Knothole and was completely taken back by Tails saying that Rosie had always been there. Sally knew for certain what she did worked because of Tails' comment.
Thanks, Red - I must've missed GB's comment myself. 🙂
