cant buy the comic you see and i think knuckles is cool so i would really like it if someone filled me in on the comic please.

Yes, Knux travels back in time.
See, the plot follows Knuckles as he comes across the eccentric Doc Gray. Gray has somehow invented time travel, and put it into a DeLorean. When it hits 88 MPH, the vehicle, and anything inside it, will be instantly teleported to a specific time.
However, as Gray is about to show Knux the machine in action, Robotnik's terrorists come from nowhere and gun him down. Knux is unable to get up to them, so he dives into the car for cover and winds up driving it up to 88 MPH, teleporting him to an era where echidnas still roam the island and everything is pretty much different.
In his confusion, Knux happens to bump into his father, who is having trouble with bullies (he's about High School aged, Knux went back so far). Knux doesn't bother to intervene, but he follows his dad home, without his dad's knowledge. However, he interferes with the act that caused his mother to meet his dad in the first place (getting hit by a car), and finds himself the target of his own mother's affections.
Eventually he finds Doc Gray again, and convinces him that he really is an echidna from the future. Unfortunately, he can't travel back into the present era because the DeLorean's flux capacitor is out of juice; however, Echidnopolis is about to be wiped off the map in a week, and the ensuing chaos will provide enough energy to power the DeLorean back to its proper era. But... if Knux can't get his parents to fall in love, he'll never have existed.
Essentially, the comic is really, really fun. It chronicles the entire week as Knux and Doc Gray work to get Knux back to his own era, and as Knux convinces his dad, ever the wimpy nerd, to stand up to his antagonist, Riff, and ask his mother out to the ball that so conveniently is on the same night as the destruction of the city.
Succeeding at that, Knux is returned to the normal era, but somehow he managed to prevent Echidnopolis' destruction, so everyone came back. Then Doc Gray (who Knux told he was going to be gunned down that night, forcing him to take some precautionary measures, saving his life) asks him to go into the future, to deal with his kids... that WAS supposed to be "Mobius: 25YL", but you can see how that turned out.
