Just something I'd like to chime on, I think Rotor needs a makeover, badly, and preferebly back to his old look. The spectacles and bomber jacket just make him look OLD, and darnit, Rotor's not Rotor without his trademark baseball cap.
Who else do you think needs a style makeover?
I think that a couple of characters should shed their newer makovers and return to a more classic style. Bunnie and Rotor are examples, Locke is another.
I'd actually like to see Antonie change into something similar to what he has now but a bit less flashy.
If Tommy must stick around, then perhaps they should make him more interesting-looking.
I think the best makeover success story in recent memory would be Snively. He looks fantastic now, at least with Yardley drawing.
The characters who need makeovers the absolute MOST have to be the substitute FF's; Penelope, Larry, Arlo, and Hamlin. They should be reworked totally so that they look like Sonic characters (ie, Mighty, Lightning, etc). Anyway, that's my first thought.
But I agree with Dirk about Bunnie. She needs to lose her hat/jacket and get a new hairstyle (one long braid Tomb Raider style!!) that's easier for the artists to draw.
I think Tommy looked best on the cover to #137 when Spaz drew him.
One last bit: they need to pick a design for the platypuses (platypi??). Half of the time, Bill looks like a demon.
I wish they would do something with Mighty. Perhaps making him tougher looking, although nothing very buff or hypermasculine. His design worked well during the old days, but now he needs something new to blend in with the other Chaotix.
I like what they did with him here in this fangame.
Huh. I love Bunnies current look. The whole cyborg-limbs redesign she went through it was too slender, too radical a departure from the original baby got back Bunnie. The jacket helped put some weight on the character again, making her a better-balanced draw.
The hat though not big on the hat. I can understand the Indiana Jones/cowgirl kinda thing. But Bunnie was introduced way back when as a hare with a passion for hair. To me, Bunnie would be more the sort to change her hair style from month to month than to wear a hat.
Rotor: Lose the glasses at least. You didnt need them before, Boomer, and youre not old enough to be losing the eyesight just yet.
Sally: Keep the long hair. But go back to blonde. (Blondes have more fun. ;D)
Antoine: Arent you basically back in the same ol uniform again anyway?
Doc Quack: You were wounded in the line-of-duty crippled for life. Go back to walking with that cane of yours. And be grumpy. Like House on TV. Thatd be awesome.
Bean: Steal Doc Quacks eye-patch!
Im joking, of course. (Except Bunnies hat and Rotors glasses I really do dislike those.) And the thing with Doc Quacks cane thats more a consistency issue (like four fingers versus five), and Im just anal about that stuff.
Alot of the current designs - I like 'em. Growth and all that. (And I like Locke's, too. More... down-to-earth-ish? Or at least, to me, it fits better into the Sonic world. It's detailed - and as said, I'm a details dude.)

i love locke's redesign, seems to fit in nicely with how the echidnas looked in tikal's time. much more fitting then his old sleeping gown-like coat.
i'm glad they left out the guns from bunnie's holsters later on in the books. her arms can be used as a gun, she can fly and blast holes into things..why need more?
plus rotor lecture later on about how the FF never used guns made her design even more silly. i wonder if that's now why she hasn't got them any more? oo
Nack should definatly be given a makeover. He needs a coat, like the one he used in 153. And They should finaly decide on an eyecolor, instead of alternating between blue and purple. (Light greenish-blue would look nice, or red, or brown.) The gloves, boots and hat are perfect. Or do they need changing? A tattered ear would look cool, too.

Oh, I had actually never played the game, but the caption below the screenshot implied that it was Mighty. I didn't know the character was psychotic either. Thanks for clearing that up, though.

As for redesign, I currently want Fiona's outfit changed. There's something about that crappy swimsuit body form she wears that looks absolutely atrocious.
I like WB's outfit for Fiona that was shown in SONIC #134.

Personally I liked drawing him with brown eyes (like he had in Season 2 of SatAM) because most of the Archie cast has blue or green eyes and that gets a little tiresome.
And since some have asked: Rote's gun was from STH #44- the issue with AntiKnuckles (faith and begorrah!)

Yeah, they should have never threw it out. Ken seems to be including it in his idea for the movie. IMO, it made her look less like a female Sonic. Plus, Mobius needs more diversity than just blue hedgehogs. I know we have Amy and Shadow, etc.

I think most of the redesigns have been for the better, with Fiona being a glaring exeption.
I like the idea of Bunnie loosing the hat and changing hairstyles - heck, so long as multiple artists weren't working on stories set on the same day, they could all choose their favorite hairstyles, so she just changes it a lot. I want her to keep the jacket, though - I really like it (though a different style jacket would be okay).
I'm not thrilled with Rotor's current look, but I was never a big fan of any of his previous looks, either. If I were redesigning him, I'd give him both his tool belt and his jacket - the tool belt is useful, and I just think jackets look cool...
Can't think of too many others that need a makeover... Mighty is looking a bit plain these days, but I'm not sure what could be done to spruce him up. (Maybe he should have a jacket, too? 
)
Oh, and I've always felt Jules and Bernie's robot forms looked lame. Since he has no hope of being deroboticized, maybe Jules should have his body redesigned? (Especially his face - I thought it looked quite silly the first time I saw it, and the only reason it doesn't bug me any more is because I've gotten used to it..)
The hairstyle thing for Bunnie wouldn't surprise me considering she wanted to persue a career as a hairstylist.
I'm sure if Mighty carried around some kind of accessory that suited his character he would fit in with the other Chaotix (ex. Charmy has his jacket, Vector has headphones, Espio wears spiked bracelets and bandages).
Ken's idea for a movie makes me laugh.

Personally, I love how Bunnie's a little shorter and rounder. Tracy draws her well. Almost old school.
Sally's hair needs to be shorter and her face a bit more old schooly, but Tracy's said he's working on her.

Sorry, but I think you've missed the point. The problem was that the comic had Rotor state that Freedom Fighters never ever use guns - despite that Bunnie had been visually carring a pair and that Rotor himself had both built and used a giant monstrous gun. Being fantasy-based doesn't account for a direct contradiction.
I think that Archie really needed to make over Bark - badly. Red is used so many times - Shadow, Super Sonic, Metal Sonic, Other robots - Need I say more? 
Bean was ok they could of used ice blue for Bark eye's. And whers His Pony Tail At For God Sake? And His Voice? Why are missing?

Polar bears should never be hot. It's just not their way. But Bark can chill all he wants, sonic candy.

I got a real shock seeing him in 134 - if I hadn't already known about Rotor's family, I'd have sworn that his grandfather'd shown up and settled in Knothole whilst Sonic was away.
I just don't see what a redesign was supposed to achieve in his case.

To be honest, I like the changes given to some of the members of the cast. But, there could be changes amongst them, ya know?

Fiona: Please, for the love of God, please, lose the tight suit. It doesn't work for her.
Tommy: Completely naked furre. How original. He needs at least some form of clothing, to make him not so bland.
As for the main list, they're as good as they are, no changes shouldn't need to be made. Sonic, Knuckles, Tails and Shadow should have to stay the way the are, for the sake of the games.
The secondary characters could go with a little bit of tweaking though, brighten them up a bit for the comic, that is if most of them ever appear again.

OMG, does anybody remember back around the 90s issues where Bunnie walked around in daisyduke shorts and wore that gaudy polkadot tanktop. That was AWEFUL and way too steotypical of "southern" style. I'd MUCH rather see her the way she is now than that EVER AGAIN!
I'm okay with her look now, but I'm not a big fan of the hat or jacket. However, I am totally undecided if I like her better with a short cut or a medium one. I agree with Herms though! Give that girl some CURVES!

I wanna see Sally with her short hair again. Long hair just doesn't suit her. At least put it up in something an make it pretty? How is she suppose to fight with all that hair in the way? I'm also for Rotor getting a remodel job. It's just not the same...He just needs to dress HIS AGE!

I had the strangest idea for Julie-Su, too. I always imagined that she'd look really sexy in something white for a change. Maybe wear that color if there's ever another story where she goes out on a date with Knuckles. Might try to draw that later...<3
I'm STRONGLY for simplicity!!! As an animator they teach us that you do not need details to make a character interesting. As long as there are good gestures and storytelling you don't need all that stuff.

Anyway, as far as character designs go... I really just want simplistic Sonic-ish designs. The whole change thing they've gone through in the comic is to appeal to the kids of the here and now, so I don't really expect the designs to change, since kids eat that stuff up.
Sonic Been in on/off, love tringales and all the good stuff. (I know that SOME of it was evil sonic doing,but still...) Sonic is the hero of mobius (earth) WHATEVER planet he's on NOT A PIMP! Therfor, Sonic need a makeover more thean everyone, IMO.

Um, I can't seem to recall when Sonic sported a wide-brimmed purple hat with zebra-print hatband and giant green feather. How does Sonic's current visual look make him a pimp? Sure, he's half naked, but so's a good part of the cast in general.

So? We're talking about visual designs. The way they look, not the way they act. Even then Mina kissing him (not vice-versa) once doesn't make him a pimp. Of course, going further would probably put this in the realm of relationship-talk.
It's been bothering me in the back of my mind...Mighty the Armadillo really does need a redesign but what could we give him that hasn't been given to another character? So I finally came up with a solution: Give him Pants. That's right! Knuckles and Sonic are going to look at Mighty and be like, "Hey, that's a great idea! I wonder why I never considered putting a garment over my genitals before?" I might try to draw my idea for Mighty's re-design someday.

What would pants do to improve his character? I would think it would only drift him further away from the SegaSonic cast.
A makeover is something that usually only changes superficial appearances -- like the clothes a person wears, how they wear their hair, make-up, etc. So, no, it won't actually make his character any better -- just more stylish.
Although...Hmm...I guess giving Mighty pants would give him a sense of decency. That's kind of like character growth. There could be a whole story arc leading up to Mighty's new pants!

Mighty doesn't need pants...though he could use some type of body armor or bulletproof vest...something that would give the impression that this guy is tough and a literal tank.
It wouldn't be a makeover per se but I liked Mina's original outfit better...or perhaps we can see her don that Chinese dress a few more times...
