Sonic the game came first in 1991, followed by either the comic or the show in 1993... I can't remember which. At any rate, Sega owns all the characters, even ones like Sally or Julie-Su.

the evil echidna: Next time, do not respond after yourself, especially because you haven't received an answer within an hour. That's absolutely silly.

Especially at 4 in the morning, people from the US would be sleeping at that hour, and others usually take 10-15 minutes to reply to a post. Yeah. And some people have school, so that could explain other timezones. Then there are jobs.

Meh.

More like wouldn't. They have every right to toss Sally and friends into a game, they just aren't.

How is that so? I thought Archie and Sega each had exclusive rights over characters they could and couldn't use.

And I thought that if they were allowed to toss in just about every comic cover that existed up to that point in Mega Collection and still have some leeweigh as to what goes into the comics (like game adaptions and all), then it'd follow through that they STILL own the rights to the characters made inside the comic books.
