For the classics, I'd have to say EndGame. For recent times, I'd say the Darkest Storm.

Honorable mention goes to the Death Egg Saga because they were the first Sonic stories I ever read. ^_^

I couldn't answer... I can just say that I lived an entire summer (2005) as a dream when I discovered the entire StH collection on the net... A new universe was opened to me... While listening the Star Wars Episode III soundtrack on the same time... They seem linked each other for me now...

Yes ! I remember that I found the Knuckles stories more realistic... Which one in particular ? No real idea... It's a bit glow in my mind :))

I'd have to say Endgame was my fave "classic" storyline. You just really never knew what was going to happen next. And of course, it changed the series forever.

My favorite "middle" storyline goes to Sonic Adventure. Of course, that's probably because I loved the games so much, and really looked forward to seeing how it was adapted.

Any my favorite recent storyline is easily "Return to Angel Island". That story was Bollers at his best. Not to mention awesome art by ol' Dubs.

Anything Dub illustrates becomes a personal favorite. The script could've called for Monkey Khan bathing in pudding and I'd have declared it a triumph for the ages.

My favorite "classic" story would have to be issue 25. Metal Sonic was awesome, and I loved Spaz's artwork. Kinda humorous, too.

Out of the newer era of stories, it's probably a tie between RTAI and Birthday Bash. Both were just plain fun to read and had memorable art.

Have you been sneaking looks at Dub's private art collection?

I have the same sentimental attachment to Return to Angel Island, but I'm another Endgame fan for drama.

Only with the SSS6 revised ending, though. The amount of editing on the original issue 50 totally diffused the gradual build-up of drama.

Puar. That. would. totally. ROCK. *______*

And we can call it "Tapioca Monkey" and have him fight Oreo monsters. Then he can jump into a pool of milk at the end with the remaining cookies.

INSPIRATION! 8____8

STOP GIVING ME NIGHTMARES...despite how tasty that sounds about now!

As for fave story, Return to Angel Island has probably been the best one in recent times. I can't remember any favorite storylines from a while back. Pretty much any of the Knuckles series before #30 were good reading.

For recent ide say the one where they go to save Tommy da Turtle. I just think its been one of coolest ones out, even if it was about 10-20 issues ago. Ime not exactly sure wich issue # it was, i don't feel like looking through all of them.

I still have to go with "Forbidden Zone" from the Knuckles comic. The characters were the best; too bad Ken never even TRIED to milk all the potential that was there.

I always liked the Tobor storyline in Knuckles. Too bad the next time we saw him he was murdered... off panel too (worst way to die).

Wow. All these replies and no mention of the simply amazing Mecha Madness? I'm shocked.

It remains one of my favourite story arcs to this very day (Admittedly, I haven't read pretty much anything from about #80 onwards), and it's the ONLY thing I've ever read that has made me cry (*Crackle* I... Do not deserve to live... *Bzzt* I... Betrayed... My friends... *Zap* And loved ones...).

I liked the "return to angel island" arc, and some of the "tossed in space" arc as well. They both had there ups and downs in the storyline, but the angel island one was the best, due to the art :) It was cute!I suppose the current "25 years later story is turning out to be pretty good. There not jumping around in the plot as much, although a few other characters like amy rose have yet to make an apperance. So yah, those are some of my favorites.

Unfortunately, I didn't pick up the Return to Angel Island :annoyed but anyway, Endgame, Mecha Madness((with the exception of #40, Dave Manak messed that one up)) and Sonic Quest.

Knuckles 1-21
Sonic 17-84
SSS 1-13

if i had to narrow it down further...
Kuckles 1-15, and tie-ins Sonic 56 and 58

to just one storyline....
hmmm i can't do it. too tough.
well....it's aclose one but i think knuckles 10-12 and Sonic 58, the Rob O' the Hedge storyline

Knux #7-#9 and Sonic #56, for me. Such an epic storyline, and they tied in so much from years worth of previous storylines - it felt almost like a "season finale", if you will, of the comic up until that point.

oh yeah those 4 issues are awesome! I think Knux 7-9 is the best cover in a Sonic series! great stuff...

from the classic times i enjoyed sonic getting roboticized leading up to mecha sonic vs. mecha knux the best. that awful middle era that led up to sonic adventure and sonic's other worldly travels i tend to just forget about, and in newer times i guess technically return to angel island is my fave but truthfully i enjoyed M:25YL the most. that always kept my interest

GASP!
you didn't like Endgame or Ixis Naugus or the stuff in between?? 41-78 are some of the best of sonic's series!

i sort of place endgame and naugus in with the classics. i count the middle era when sonic adventure started getting tied in and ending with the "home" arc. basically i enjoyed everything from #30- the end of the naugus arc with mecha madness standing out ever so slightly as my fave

For me, it would be SS6 [Endgame] and Heart Held Hostage. SS6 for the mere reason that they took one of the most climatic issues of "classic" Sonic, and made it better. Heart Held Hostage because in these two issues, not only was the art kick ass, but the character development was phenominal. Course, in two issues that development was wasted, but still, none the less, it happened. TT__TT

I believe that they were issues 122-123. (124-125 was the two-issue milestone)

I'll add the Destruction of Knothole arc (#175-#177) to what I previously stated back in 2006. So epic.

Welp, given that the forum is merged now, I can use this as a Fleetway discussion.

To which, there are too many to pick, but the obvious winner would be the issue 100 tie-in, where Sonic, Knuckles and "Sonic's World" had 4 issue storyarchs leading to issue 100 where the entire comic was used as a finale for the 3 plots.

The story was the big turning point of StC where Robotnik was knocked from power, Super Sonic was defeated (and able to get his own spin-off story later on), Sonic returned to Mobius, Emerald Hill folk left Floating Island and such.

Of course, without Robotnik in power, the majority of the post-100 stuff was a little lacking. Had some good moments, though. Robotnik becoming a god in 123 was epic, and the Drakon Empire stuff was kind of cool...

I really need to read Fleetway somehow. The more I hear of it, the more I like it.

Knuckles used the grey Chaos Emerald to suck the power out of him, shrinking him greatly. Felt it was kinda anti climatic myself.

I love issue #51 of all time. It stands out from the regular issues. I hope they do something like that again. Though it took us (well, at least me) forever to find out who sent the freakin' VR medal.

Though I thought it was Ixis Naugus, it turned out to be Robo-Robotnik (Dr. Eggman).

^ It was supposed to be the person who gave Sonic the medal. Of course, that was changed when the ending to Endgame was changed.

yeah. it took me like three years to figure out who sent it. it was actually in a sonic-grams letter.

That's not the ending he means, DL. We were supposed to see Sally acting weirder and weirder after #50 - with her driving a wedge between Sonic and the other FFs and nobody suspecting except Tails - until we found out a year or so down the line that she was just another auto-automaton and the real Sally did die during Endgame. This would've pushed Sonic and Tails closer together, disbanded the FFs and was ultimately meant to turn the continuity more towards a SegaSonic style.

The fake Sally was supposed to be who boobytrapped Sonic's medal in #51 - there was still wrangling when that went to press over whether the storyline was going to go through or not, because ultimately Sega stepped in and vetoed it because they had marketing plans for Sally of their own, and the culprit's identity had to be changed as an afterthought.

Though I must say that the past ten issues were also my fave too (guess I don't just have one fave issue). I liked how Ian brought back The Destructix for several issues + also Scourge and the anti-freedom fighters. Good storylines.

Well, I have to say, the most memorable for me was Dark Alliance. It still counts as my favorite, though to be fair, for more recent, I loved Return to Angel Island.

I think the issues around 118-130 were some of my absolute favorite ones. I especially liked the one where sonic had to fight his evil supersonic clone in issue 126.

Thanks Sam. I actually didn't know that (and I may have, casue it does sound familiar) Though i know that has prolly been discussed to death here... But umm what were the big changes in SSS6 and #50..Im about to pull out my bin and do some ol reading, but if anyone has a list....
