I'm considering renewing my subscription of the Sonic comics and need to know if they are still as good as they used to be. I read them from issue #100 to about #150 and loved just about every single one. I purchased a couple after #200, but I couldn't tell if they had that magic the others ones did.
I'm also wondering what became of that female artist who did some sketches on her deviant art page. I can't remember her name, but the images looked gorgeous. Thanks for any help you can provide, and I look forward to hearing your comments. This seems like a very mature community.
For what it's worth... I've been reading the comics for their entire run, since I was around 6 or so, and I think they're the best they've ever been since Ian Flynn came on as lead writer (#160+). From the sounds of it there's going to be an absolutely massive change in status quo come #225, so jumping back in now is probably a good time.
I'm not sure which artist you're referring to... if it's Dawn Best, she's been off the comic for years; if it's Renae de Liz, she's working on a few projects at IDW, but IIRC correctly she's meant to be coming back to Sonic at some point.
It's not Dawn Best, although she was awesome.
After looking at Renae's DA page, it was definitely her. Did she ever do art for the comic?
Thanks a lot for the reply. I think I'll go ahead and order some collections to cover the bases when Ian took over.
Yeah - she did the pencils for #198, and the backup story in #207. There may have been another backup story or two, but that's all I can remember off the top of my head.
