A long while back a friend of mine let me borrow two of the Archie Sonic comics. I wasn't much of a Sonic comic fan back then, but I remember the stories were top notch. It involved a superior Metal Sonic who kidnaps Tails and holds him prisoner at a volcano. I've been collecting Sonic Comics for about a year now and bought all the back issues available and all the Graphic Novels, and have yet to see this story. It was a two parter, and I would like to know what issues those were and who wrote them. Thanks in advance!

A Google search could help or you could wait for the Sonic the Hedgehog Archives to come out featuring the issue in question, though I am not sure if Archie is still releasing the Archives?
Yeah, they are. IIRC there were some delays here and there, but I don't know why people act like it was announced they were canceled or something.
From my understanding, the next two are aimed for release in July and December.
It would still be a while before they got up that far, though. You'd probably be better off checking the back issue bins at actual comic stores.
