I mean, Ian says he's going back to short stories, but yet he has the Dark Egg Legion in them, I mean look at this month's issue, 213, then 214, 215, 216, 217, 218 and future issues within the next year.
They maybe short 2-3 parter's, but come on, anyone can see there's a storyarc centered on the legionization of the Dark Egg Legion and the Eggman Empire of anyone that they can get their hands on (mostly rogues or villians) and the establishment of new chapters around the world, again look at the covers of the upcoming issues, and you get what I'm saying.
Quite honoreslty, I don't see this going on for much longer, in fact I see coming to end in 225. I mean, how many Legion chapters can there be, and do you think Dimitri (once he's fully healed and recharged) is going to like what Eggman is doing with the Cybernetics of the legion he led to help his people. I don't think so.
And what about Lein-Da, do you think she will be happy, that are more then one Grandmaster, as part of the Legion, again I don't think so.
But those are just my thoughts.
Saying the DEL makes for a story arc is the same as saying Roboticization was a story arc. Or that Knuckles guarding the Master Emerald is a story arc. Or that the Freedom Fighters opposing Robotnik is a story arc.
Longrunning theme within a continuity =/= short, self-contained story within a continuity.

I honestly don't get your seeming need to crap on Ian every chance you get. He gave us what he promised, short stories, of course they have an over-arching plot that's how comic tend to work.
Well...The Dark Egg Legion is Eggman's primary line of defense right now; it's also how he controlls other parts of the world away from his hang out. After the Enerjak incident he seems to be pretty short on robots and he was crazy there for twelve issues and wasn't able to make any more. Way back when Snively was first dating Regina online she was mentioned as being one of the Mini-Bosses, so it's known that Robotnik employs a wide range of people/Mobians. I would say that it is part of the plot right now but I wouldn't call it a story arc. It's quite possible that this will change at some point as I doubt the Dark Legion will want to stay servents of the Eggman Empire forever. But that wouldbe a future plot shake-up.
I am curious, though; what did they do with Dimitri?
They put him in a box, Lien-Da did. But didn't Sonic and Tails find him and take him back to Neotropolis?

but yea, I for one am glad the characters are getting more screen time...and that the legion is expanding (even if I did kinda like it better when it was all echidnas.)

speaking of story-arcish stuff..what ever happened to Rouge's scheme for ol Knux? Wonder if it will be brought up in the Next Knuckles SU arc?
