What Matt said. You just described yourself how easy and irrelevant ceremony is.
She should get a mini series because we never saw what happened to the Lara-su from the world were Knux was evil and the end of M25LY was a let down. She's a cool enough character to0 deserve a mini.
if anything i think she could have a few backup stories. seeing as how we haven't really gotten a good one for awhile.
Yeah that'd work for me.
I think some Lara-Su backup stories might be a good idea, and I have said repeatedly that I also want to know about how the original Lara-Su's story turned out just like Exodus. M25YL ended okay for me, though I would like to see more of what happened to change the future as I've mentioned. Not to mention that it might be nice to ditch Sonic and the gang for a change-not trying to diss them, but even they get old after a while.
And Exodus, do you still think you're the number one Knux + Julie fan? Well, I suppose I can agree to a draw-for now.
I always thought we're not meant to know what they changed in the past - the whole part of the story was not to find out, otherwise it'd ruin the present day for us. It's kind of like the suitcase in Pulp Fiction (or the sugar bowl in A Series of Unfortunate Events) - you're dying to know what's in it, but you know whatever is in it probably isn't as exciting as whatever you've thought up. I mean how exciting would it be if it turns out Lara-Su and King Sonic came back to the past and told Sally that for the sake of the future, she had to skip breakfast that morning?
I suppose you've got a point there-unless what Sonic and Lara-Su did had something to do with some major upcoming battle, it probably wouldn't be that exciting. Plus, the whole interaction between present and future Sonic would probably get old-the cliche of finishing each other's sentences or getting into arguments with another version of yourself has pretty much played itself out by now.
I almost wish that the original Lara-Su had turned out to be the Lara-Su from M25YL, somehow altered by her trip through time-at least that would have resolved both of their storylines.
Maybe Lara-su had to become her own grandmother. Like Fry in Futurama.

Eww. NO! nonononononononononononononononononononononono!
I doubt that a lot. Personally, I don't think she's that stupid enough to cause a sick and twisted stunt like that.
As for a back-up story? That would be nice, but what ISa back-up story? I sure haven't seen one in recent issues!
Also, what happened to Sonic-Grams? Are people still writing in, or can't they print them for whatever reason?
Say it isn't so, I'm starting to lose faith for the comics.
There was a backup in #174 and there'll be one in #180. That's only six months without a backup, and to be fair there's been a lot of important stuff going on the past few months in the comic.
Sonic-Grams are now online, because (IIRC) Archie increased the amount of pages that are used per month on advertisements. I miss them too but to be honest I hated them when Mike was answering them, and we don't really need them anymore - so I'm not really interested in a in-comic revival unless Ian's taking over for them.
Backup stories are in the normal comic issues because usually the story isn't big enough to warrant it's own issue. Issues #175 through #179 did because it was all about Knothole's destruction, the rescue of it's citizens, the move to New Mobotropolis, and the big deal with the duels between Elias and Amadeus and Sonic and Tails and the restructuring of the Kingdom of Acorn's government. All of those were major story developments, so they had to have issues all to themselves. #180 will have backup, and most likely because their won't be anything that serious-I figure it'll have the ever so cliche "hero and villain have a truce to fight a common foe" with Sonic and Robotnik, and maybe the new Enerjak's first appearance. All in all, not enough to fill up an entire issue unless you want to stretch it out. We probably won't see another issue without a backup story until the final 2-5 or so part issue in which the whole Enerjak plot is brought to a close.
Lara-Su probably would be good in a backup story, just as a bit of a breather from the more important Sonic characters. We all like those guys, but that doesn't mean we have to read about them all the time. I think it would be rather interesting if someone actually took an interest in Lara-Su's presence during the whole assassination deal, or if she showed up to fill up that hole in M25YL's plot, and somebody took a closer look at it. It might be pretty funny, in the case of the former, if Knuckles and Julie-Su were to learn that their 15-16 year old daughter was running around Echidnaopolis when they themeselves were only 16!
As for the whole Lara becoming her own grandma think, I accept that you're probably being sarcastic. However, I would like to point out two discrepancies with the theory, just to be professional. First, Lara does not strike me as the type of character who would do something you might expect from a character off Futurama (my apologies to anyone who likes it, but that show is stupid). Second, doing something like that would be virtually impossible: she'd have to meet one of her grandfathers, get pregnant, carry the child for the whole term, and then give birth before disappearing to preserve the timeline. It's not like a girl, like a guy, can just go into the past, sleep with someone, and then disappear and that results in them becoming their own grandmother.
Of course...now that I think about it...she could have been Mari-Su...Just kidding! Not only is that highly unlikely, it makes me shudder just to think about it.

I was being sarcastic, as I always perfered backups.

I'm not offended. I liked it when it was on at midnight, so I bought the boxsets. Now it's repeated on a prime-time slot heavily, so I've lost interest

That is my point exactly. It would, IF it were remotely possible, be a paradox. However, if Harold Saxon can do it...
Of course...now that I think about it...she could have been Mari-Su...Just kidding! Not only is that highly unlikely, it makes me shudder just to think about it.
I'm really glad you were kidding about that Mari-Su joke. That's exactly what I meant. There is no way on Cybertron that I'd think that, as I have too much respect for the character, and the writers.
Oh, you're a Transfan, are ya? Yeah, I was definitely kidding; that shudder thing was real, and I hope that the authors never have to sink that low.
(I hope that the authors never have to sink that low.)
Amen to that. Although, now we have no more Ken Penders, the chances of it happening are both high and low.
Better not tell Ian Flynn about this.
I miss him already.
Off topic, yes, I am a Transfan, and one of the biggest. I have been one all my life, since the good old days of Generation One.
I love Transformers. Perhaps more than Lara-Su. Now I can shudder, due to doubts over the new Transformers Animated :0
Oh, that Transformers Animated thing looks horrible! I have no intention whatsoever of ever watching it! I got into Transformers because of Beast Wars, but since then I've come to like Generation 1, the expanded universe, and Transformers Cybertron as well. I've always found the humans to be the dumbest part of the whole series (kind of like they are in Sonic), which was why I was rather disappointed by the live action movie and by a certain expletive in the animated movie.
Anyway, getting back to Sonic, Lara-Su isn't likely to pop up again any time soon, nor are we liable to hear anything more from each of the three futures she appears in. The original Lara's future sounded like it could have made a promising story, but it's not one Archie's going to be doing. I miss Penders a bit myself; the guy was going to make the Knuckles comics an animated series/movie, for Mobius' sake! (I like to invent little Mobius-style exclamations like that. :D)
The new Transformers show is going to be the first American TF show since Beast Wars. Though the animation looks bad, I'm willing to give the show a little leniancy, the mere fact they have Weird Al voicing Wreck-Garr is enough to show that true fans of G1 are behind this project and wish to inject love.
Plus it has Dinobots on it. Grimlock is King!
And Wreck-Garr's going to be a Garbage truck.
I took a further interest in Armada when Unicron entered. When Cybertron got past the first few episodes, I personally thought it improved.
The live-action movie was okay. It got new fans, but some don't appreciate G1.
And by a certain expletive, you mean this?:
www.tftm.net/mp3/tftm017.mp3
Well, at least Beast Machines will no longer deserve it's title as 'Worst Series EVER.'
Weird Al's gonna be Wreck-Garr? Awesome: a total nod to "Dare to Be Stupid" serving as the Junkion theme song for the movie.
I didn't care much for anything past RiD up until Cybertron; Armada and Energon didn't interest me at all. I'm not going to look at that link, as I know what it leads to and I don't like swear words. I agree that the movie didn't stay faithful much to G1: Megatron was too much more powerful than Optimus and Jazz was a potty mouth. I mean, the Autobots were supposed to be role models for kids!
Beast Machines would have been better if the Maximals had kept their final Beast Wars forms: Transmetal Rattrap, Fuzor Silverbolt, Transmetal 2 Cheetor and Blackarachnia, and Optimal Optimus would have looked just as cool fighting the Vehicons as the Preds of the Beast Wars. The Vehicons were actually pretty decent; the idea of Waspinator becoming a more impressive villain was rather humorous.
Yeah, Transformers Animated is gonna suck, no question.
You know, it would be kind of funny to see a Sonic/Transformers crossover; I actually wrote a fanfic for that. Lara-Su's time travel escapades could be a way to get involved; maybe she could accidentally end up in the time of the modern day Great War or the Beast Wars.

lol
People still believe that lie? XD
Who says it's a lie? I have not seen any source to support that Penders didn't to do exactly that. If there is, please supply a link, and I'll skulk off into the shadows in dejection. If not, then stop trying to crush my dreams! (sorry, fanboy moment)
It's pretty much common knowledge that Ken spent a long time telling everyone he was going to get an Archie-based Sonic movie up and running. Not just "try to", mind you, the way he was speaking of it, it was already a done deal - which of course he wasn't allowed to talk about. A little later we find out this movie isn't allowed to include Sonic or Knuckles in it and it's going to be based around his own personal echidna characters (Julie-Su, Remington, etc.). After months and months of hoohah about it, the project is very quietly dropped when we discover that Sega pretty much said NO right from the start, and Ken just wrote the script and did all the designs for the movie in the hopes they'd change their mind, meandwhile reassuring us all that the movie was already greenlit. It's one of those instances where people are convinced they're gonna get a movie made just because they're gonna try so hard where everyone else has obviously not - like that guy a few months ago who reckoned he was gonna get a SatAM movie made. Except in this case it's even worse because it was a member of the comic staff who was trying to delude us.
Well, if that's true, then I am deeply saddenned; I would have liked to see movies like that come out. Although, the idea of a Sonic-based Echidna story without Knuckles...It. Doesn't. WORK!
Heh, I guess the chances of an Echidna movie/cartoon or a SatAM movie are about the same as the chances of Lara-Su getting her own mini-series; or even making a return appearance, for that matter.
On the subject of Transformers animated:
-Weird Al is playing Wreck-Gar, which kinda makes sense.
-David Kaye (BW, BW, Armada-Cybertron Megatron) will play Optimus Prime!
-Corey Burton (G1 Brawn, Shockwave, Spike) will be Megatron.
-Tom Kennedy (Spongebob) is Starscream ?!
-Soundwave is a Speaker box
-Lazerbeak is a Guitar
-Dinobots, Ultra Magnus, and Blitzwing are in it too.
I'm happy IMHO that John Moscitta will play Blurr again, and Susan Blu will replay Arcee. Both voiced G1 characters of the same name.
Back to the main topic, I would laugh if Enerjak was Lara-Su in disguise from the future and HAD to change history to save it.
You wrote a Sonic/Transformers fanfic, Spectre the Hechidnat? You tickled my interests.
I doubt Lara-Su is the new Enerjak-though it has been proposed that Dr. Finitevus may be the Knuckles from the first Lara-Su's future-you know, the one who absorbed a ton of Chaos energy and went mad?
Yeah, I did; it's called Beast Wars Rekindled, and you can find it on Netraptor, DeviantArt, or Beast Wars International.
I know the one you mean. I meant the Lara-Su being Enerjak thing as a joke, so yeah.
Tell you what. If Lara-Su EVER appears in the series in ANY form, or mentioned in any way whatsoever from now until the comic's end, then everyone has to apologise when I say 'I told you so.'
If not, then call me insane.
Chances are Lara-Su is going to show up again one day, it's just not likely to be anytime soon - there's no point putting her in just to make fans happy, she has to earn a right to be in the story. It's not like you hold exclusive rights to claiming she's gonna make a reappearance someday. o_O

You're right, all characters need to earn a right.
I never said that I held exclusive rights to claiming she's going to make a reappearance someday. I meant that since lots of people are saying that she'll never appear again, it would make me happy to prove them wrong.
I would like to see Lara-Su show up again, but I agree that it won't be for a while if it ever does happen. Maybe if the comics ever come to an end, she'll show up in the the future the writers finally decided to go with-or maybe she'll show up if the series lasts long enough that Knuckles and Julie get together and end up having her. Either way, I'd be happy to see her return-particularly if it involved resolving the original Lara-Su's story. (I know I've talked about that too many times, but I seriously want to see it done!)
(pats Spectre on the sholder)
We all want that story done.
i would SOOOOOO love to see a Lara su mini series. well if reader wont read a comic about lara su, then maybe archie should bring back another knuckles series and have lara feature in it. be really screwy and obscure like 15/16 year old knuckles and lara comes back in time again XD.
I couldn't agree with you any more cattcreature2007, and welcome.
thanks for the welcome and glad to see someone agree's with me
Oh you have no idea how much I want this mini-series. I am happy that someone out there agrees with me too.
Sayyyyyyyy, can you draw, cattcreature2007?
