For the past couple of years, we basically read what was going on in Knothole, Robotropolis, etc. The usual places.
Maybe they should try having more stories on the other Freedom Fighter Groups. Outside of the regular places we read every month about. Such as maybe The Sandblast City FF. Or even Monkey Khan. Well, perhaps he was unpopular, which would explain his rare appearances.
Or even trade someone from the Knothole FF in exchange for another FF from...I don't know...Downunda, for example?
I don't know if this makes sense or not. But, anyway, anyone else with ideas?
Well, the only bad part is that a lot of the "alternate" Freedom Fighter groups, while kind of cool back when there were very few knothole characters, would now end up coming across as very lame without dramatic overhauls, and dramatic overhauls for lame characters are SUPER lame. I can only think of one character I would like to see return at some point, and that would be Rob O' the Hedge. Since he is related to Amy, it's feasible.
BTW, the alternate FF's from the Princess Sally Mini-series were cameoed in the egg grapes in 176. Thought that was a pretty cool nod to the old days, something Dub would have done. Is he still working on STH? Seems like it's been a while since I've seen his handiwork.
he's not anymore. but i don't see why a alt Freedom fighter team story wouldn't work for a backup story. some of the ones we've gotten just seem like they should be forgotten.
Dubs is no longer working on the comic; unless something has changed recently without me noticing.
I'd prefer the back-up stories of the comic to be like one or two parters of secondary characters, whether they be residents of Knothole, or whatever they're calling it now (they're changing it's name as much as Sean Combs has changed his).
But that way, those much beloved secondary characters that we all know and love (Nack, Bean and Bark are prime examples) can get more screen time.
Or hell, even have the back-up stories focus solely on Angel Island, chuck Knux and the Chaotix back up there, and you have a whole lot more potential to work with instead of coming up with useless drivel.
Well, let's face it; the other Freedom Fighter groups were more introduced so that kids wouldn't get tired of just the Knothole gang and the Chaotix being in the spotlight all the time. Now the idea of that has basically been scrapped, since now they've reverted to "alternating character importance" where different members of the Chaotix and Freedom Fighters are important in each comic. It would be kind of cool to have the Downunda, Forty Fathom, Arctic, and other Freedom Fighter groups come back, but it's unlikely to happen except in the event of some big final battle against Robotnik.
I agree with Spiner Storm, it would be nice for the Chaotix to have their own stories again, but it's just not liable to happen.

Espio pretty much starred in a backup story in... #169? While it's not the same as having a separate comic to fill, considering the number of characters flying around I'd say the Chaotix are at least getting some good page time.
