Are there other issues of comics that provide more coverage of the story in Knuckles #26 - 28 where Sonic, Mighty and Ray wrecked Robotnik's prison facility? What happened to Sonic when he tried to get the keycard to unlock Mighty's shackles? And what happened to Sonic and Mighty when they disappeared into that unseen zone in pursue of Ray and then reappearing?
I don't think it was touched on during the past year (but I could be wrong as I haven't read anything after #178). Otherwise, no, there haven't been any specifics given with regards to what happened there.

Seriously, that game pretty much details what happened in those split second between vanishing and appearing again in that panel. Well, that's how the comic sells it, anyway.
