I have found a place that is selling three different sets of 12 issues. Pretty cheap all things considered, I can't decide what year I want though.
The available ones right now are.
1996: issues 20-41
1998: issues 54-65
1999: issues 66-77
Can you guys give me a heads up on which year you think was the best? I am gonna try and collect them all eventually, but I wanna start out on the right foot.
1996. The other sets can be ordered through Archie's checklists and are relatively easy to obtain. Of course if you've got the cash, I'd recommend all three just for the sake of being a completist.
Hey, Ace, where is this "place"? I'd really like to get my hands on that 1996 set...is it a website or something?
With regards to your question, I say ditto on what Miss Puar offered...Archies's Online store carries...all of these...I think you meant 30-41, not 20-41...archie's site can be foundhere. Hope this helps!
definitely go with 1996 dude.

Are you sure that's right? Sure you don't mean 30 to 41?
I only started collecting in mid '97, but I still think '96 is the way to go.
Yeah, 1996 has a number of fantastic issues that should not be missed. Sonic #34's "To Bot Or Not To Bot" #36's "Heart of Darkness," the Knuckles "A Sense of History" backstory... shame it's only one issue short of #42's "In Every Kingdom There Must Exist A Little Chaos" and "Knuckles' Quest, Part 1," as both those stories are great.
Sorry Hiro, should have included the link. It's Archie's official online store.
Well I got them a couple days ago, they are damn good. I also went to a local comic shop last week and picked up issues 42 and 43, gah $4 a piece O_O. So that puts me at 30-43, not a bad start if I do say so myself. I also have the two most recent ones, 154, and 155 as well. I also got something called Sonic The Hedgehog the beginning off of Amazon. It says they are issues 0-3, were these the originally planned miniseries that they made before deciding to make it a permanent comic?
These issues also make me see just how far the comic has fallen. I can appreciate the much darker tone of today's issues. But, it almost to me seems to take itself too seriously. I guess I like the "kiddienes" of the earlier ones. This also ties into the fact that I prefer the old look Sonic to the new one that was introduced in Sonic Adventure.
Hell, SA was a good game, but if it weren't for Shadow in SA2, and now his own game I wouldn't be a fan at all. *Yeah go figure, I prefer the kiddy approach of the comics but like Shadow because he's darker, and more serious.*
Well anyways, I'm gonna expand outwards from those issues. I do have #24, and #25 from back in the day, but they are in cruddy condition and I don't consider them apart of my collection.
"Serious" and "dark" are two different things for me. Yeah, juste a question of taste (the age, maybe), but a prefer a "serious" line of comics.
Hmmm.. that would be cool to get some back issues!
Techno88, do not respond to topics just for the sake of posting. You're starting a bad habit of not adding anything to your posts, which is called spamming--and that's not tolerated here.
To add on to what TR said, don't bump up old topics in such large numbers. It's very irritating to the rest of us.
